- #VoxLux begins in 1999 when teenage sisters Celeste (Raffey Cassidy) and Eleanor (Stacy Martin) survive a seismic, violent tragedy. The sisters compose and perform a song about their experience, making something lovely and cathartic out of catastrophe - while also catapulting Celeste to stardom. By 2017, the now 31-year-old Celeste (#Natali Portman) is mother to a teenage daughter of her own and struggling to navigate a career fraught with scandals when another act of terrifying violence demands her attention. Directed by BRADY CORBET.

The ending never ceases to spook me the out. Even knowing the twist, something psychologically still changes in that moment its revealed. You see her for who she really is. A pied piper of the devil who's leading these people to their doom. And they are doing it smiling, singing, and dancing. Bewitched by her pop music. That shot of Jude Law watching her really is so disturbing in that context.
When her sister says “the public will be at your feet again”
Went in with no expectations, now it’s in my top 10.
This is like a spiritual sequel of black swan 😂
Yeeah i thought the same! And this scene at 1:23 reminds me of that place where nina passes by, and she sees a woman that looks like her
Not really. I know why you say that but they are polar opposites.
This movie should only exist as the trailer.
I watch this trailer just to study it. It's so well put together.
I disagree. Them using the terrorist shots to include action so it draws more viewers is VERY ironic when thought within the context of the actual film.
Interesting, I'll try it 😆😁
@@ToxicTurtleIsMadfirst time seeing it, thanks for your insights.
Can't believe the same dude that played Alan Tracy directed this film!
This tralier is amazing truly
This has nothing to do with a violent tragedy and everything to do with how people get fucked up from popularity and greed.
0:58 when you're extremely messed up but everybody just expects you to function like a robot.
What song is playing in the background?
Love druggie
Loved it!!!
why is there a modern volvo in one of the 90s drivning shots?🤨
Fear not my sisters, Your Supreme Commander will guard you
and where did this New York accent come from? Younger Celeste didn't have it. It just magically appeared when she turned 30??dafuq? you can't just name drop "9-11" and say oh shes from New York that explains it. Natalie has a THICK f'ing accent and Young Celeste has nothing! If anything young celeste sounded like she had a speech impediment from her neck injury that got replaced by the New York accent. lol
The accent thing is like how Madonna pretended to have a British accent for several years, it's obvious in becoming a pop star she's deliberately created a fictional perrsona/facade, including an accent
She even talks about how she’s different people. Trauma based mind control 101.
Howdy
weird, not in a very delightful way..........
Can anyone explain to me why is a film being made about a terrible event that is so tragic.
Watch the film maybe? Are you fucking stupid?
You mean like Titanic or schindlers list? Lol
Can anyone explain why anyone would ask such a dumb question?
Imo natalie portman's character ruined this film. They shouldn't of jumped 17 years ahead. they should of kept the focus on the younger Celeste character and watched her evolve and lose the narrators voice over.
I realize how old this comment is, but I think the whole point of the film is the shock factor that comes seeing Celeste as a sort of "pop monster" after gaining mainstream notoriety for her work. I mean... Natalie's section is titled re-genesis to imply her career is going stagnant with Vox Lux (the album) meant to jumpstart her fame again after it was tarnished by scandal.
Should "of"? Shouldn't "of"? Really?
the dumbest movie ever! #1 what is up with the dated narrator voice from the 80's? #2 Celeste in 2000 is now Albertine Celeste's daughter in 2017? why did they cast the exact same actor to play her daughter? it just made it confusing as to who Celeste was and who Natalie portman was suppose to be. #3 the cover for the movie has natalie portman and jude law- but they aren't really major players in the movie. #4 i had to skip thru it cause it was so bad. but did jude law and Celestes sister ellie who looked to be 16-22 hook up? what?? I missed that part. #5 So this movie started off to be about a school shooting and some how twisted into being about the devil and popularity and greed? WHAT? I would have gone in an entirely different direction after the church song before the narrators voice kicked in. That totally ended the interesting aspect this movie had.
You are clinacally stupid. Movies should have a minimum of 90 iq requirement.
You are braindead. Go listen to taylor swift.
Sequence of a con.
This looks wack
So easy to add all this flash and drama into a movie in an effort to (maybe successful) appeal to shallow minds. Unimportant, boring and really old hat. "I chose to live my life that goes against some peoples views on things." Not even close to original.
@@balloonfiesta15 FOR REAL!!!
You need to separate what the characters say from what the film says, they're at odds with each other
You would realise how fucking stupid you look if you actually watched the movie. Idiot.
OMG, watching it for the 1st time now & I Never realised what a Bad actor Natalie Portman really is.
Just finished watching it & it’s by Far, One of the WORST Films Ever made.
