some people out there really calling Trigun Stampede PS2 graphics
They piss me off too
Now that's some high quality delusion
They really worship "Ignorance is bliss"
the final fight in AOT with the eren and armin’s colossal titan is genuinely the most impressive CG i’ve ever seen in anime.
Yeah it looks stylistically very close to the drawings since that is also a problem which destroys the immersion between 2D and 3D animation.
IT WAS CGI????
@@Tendusho Yup they did an amazing job to blend it in with 2d.
The thing is people think CGI is bad because the good CGI is so good you dont notice it
This.
About 90% of the stuff on any given demon slayer episode is CGI, and people never noticed it
But those goddamn fish-looking things stood out like a sore thumb
They dropped the ball hard there
I think one of the reasons people say
cgi is bad is because it's too "on model", (meaning I doesn't have the imperfections that hand drawn animation has) which causes it to stand out and and be kinda jarring. (also if it's not composited well it'll stand out)
@@matheussanthiago9685 I mean, it looked uncanny af as 3D. I don't think 2D could've ever replicated that. But you have your preferences and so do I.
i dont think some people realise how impressive hand drawn animation is
Ok then, i think some people don't realise that animator don't get pay much.
mappa should give animators more time like for me personally even if attack on titan releases in 2025 but with proper division of episodes with time invested animations i would enjoy it rather than the rushed one with non uniform divisions of episodes (for example, aot final season part 2 - part 1 etc.)
CAME WHEN I SAW HNK IN THE THUMBNAIL!!!
Same
That one random CGI scene in nichijou was only used for 1 gag and never agein
which ep it was i forgot
Nichijou was closest thing to monty python the japanese ever pull out
same w Fooly Cooly
a studio that does VEEEERY GOOD cgi but goes unnoticed is Bones. it's present in a lot of their recent works but like 90% of people don't even notice it because the 3d models are amazing. last year, they had to animate Deku swinging around like Spidey and while they did most of that stuff in 2d, there many amazing cuts in MHA season 6 that were FULL cgi and that shit went hard.
I've talked about CGI in anime with friends before, and I always say the same thing: CG can work if it's done right and Honkai Impact 3rd (specifically wonderium's work) is the best example out there. Even after six years, nothing has comes close. Their cinematics, like Cyberangel, Shattered Samsara, and Everlasting Flames and many more are masterpieces of direction, storyboarding, and animation that should be studied for generations to come so you should check them. Unfortunately, it's been almost two years since we've seen any new work from them.
What do you think of this season's Girls Band Cry's CG?
it looks good. Although i havent watched it yet
@@sinchisan the performance in episode 5 literally made my jaw drop, girls band cry is my first full cg anime and I was so mind blown by how good and smooth it looked, Ive never seen anything like it
I think it's one of the best CGI I have seen. Girls Band Cry fully embraced the medium and used it for great expressiveveness
I would've waited to have first watched trigun stampede before making this video, cuz that animation is actually freaking insane!!
good vid, some people still hating on CG from the berserk anime msacre with a blind eye to the new stuff as you said cg can be amazing Ive seen some amazing ainmators on youtube for example (Mirabeau, Hoot, SXR123, Terrible Joe, and many more) there animation is amazing with a lot of emotion and face expression, and yes 3D can never replace 2D they each have their own feel they work together only when one is a supporting platform for the other but if you suddenly swap between them in animation(while keeping the distinct animation of both) the outcome is horrible.
anyone know the anime 9:32 and 9:35
Thb gumball has the best cgi
After watching Arcane its clear, budget and training is just not there for cg in anime or it WOULD look good
The first part of AoT s4 cgi was really bad, it feels like berserk 2016 cgi. but good thing it improved.
What do you think of 86 which was adapted by A-1?
One of the best directed series
How can u put Eren's titan CGI in bad in the thumbnail...
After watching this video, I'm starting to feel like I'm CG.
Same
Perhaps the real cg were the friends we made along the way
inst it cgi instead of cg?
Still have nightmares from the CGI at baccano, or the horses+chariot from black-butler
7:09 what anime was this again?
Komi Can't Communicate ED 2
and aot cgi isnt even bad
i just hate the titan cgi lol
@@AshtonScripts I felt they were off only in s4 part 1, and mainly the beast titan
yes it could sometimes. specifically the beast titan. there were really great uses of it here and there but overall it looks very mediocre and definitely can stand out compared to the detailed 2d drawings. really cannot stand mappa. theyre such a terrible company that treats their staff like complete trash where their greed ends up making aspects of their shows suffer and people will go so out of their way to defend it
I don’t get why people are upset with cgi if done right they can make a film look sick I bet in the future there’s gonna. Be more cgi styled anime which would be awesome and give it a whole new flavor to it not only that the better they get at it the better anime styled games will look I know cgi isn’t apart of games but they I think there similar.
Closed-mindedness
i dont hate aot cgi
If you asked me sanzingen, polygon and orange are by far the cg best studio in the Industrie (sublimation and mappa in house are aso really good) but the rest of the cgi studio are far below these ones so you can only really except something from these 5
Bro forgot toei
What's your opinion on Bleach's cg model and also the background cg usage?
I like the cg background usage. The cg models on some stuff arent the best but its just ok
i love art like this
its always funny to see that in every cgi video we have lovelive(if it brings m ore attention to the series im all for it)
girls band cry cg is dayum
You forgot to mention Lupin the Third The first. Its fully 3D anime but they nailed it really from their Source material on 2D to 3D translation.
Correction: good cg made with good artist that put his soul into it... And yeah big income can make it possible
Great video overall
I will forgive you for not mentioning Gantz:O in a Video about CG anime just because you showed a Hina Clip
9:16 - 9:18
Beastars my beloved 🙏
The anime "Train to the end of the world" has insane cgi when it comes to vehicles:)
Houseki no Kuni MENTIONED 🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥
Am I evil for actually enjoying the Berserk 2016/17 CGI (still i'd prefer a 2d berserk)?
HNK PEAKKKKKKKKKKKKK
The animators aren’t getting paid so until they do we are gonna get bad animation
The worst CGI in anime is Berserk 2016 .
Mihoyos CGI is good.
Theme closed.
I kinda like AOT cgi but that could just be my bias
nothing is worse than berserk 2017
not the kengan ashura cgi
old one piece cgi openings are really good
Rotoscoping simply refers to tracing over footage, so drawing over 3D is rotoscoping.
Drawing over 3D doesnt always mean rotoscoping. Ufotable uses 3d model to map out scenes and thats not rotoscoping
@@sinchisan it depends, if the 3d model is there to ensure consistent placement, then it's just for refrence. But if it's animated, it becomes rotoscoping. There is nothing wrong with tracing over a 3D model, especially if you're doing things like UFOtable does.
What do yall think about the cgi in space battleship yamato? Last i checked it was good enough for me to be invested
one of the best CGI studios is probably SANZIGEN, some of their stuff looks almost 2d. their best work is Black Rock Shooter and 009 Re:Cyborg. Probably some of the best looking CGI iv'e seen in anime tbh. (they also did Arpeggio of Blue Steel and D4DJ, they also looks really good)
yo wtf is that intro 😭
And don't show really full 3D anime.
I'm glad Land of the Lustrous and Heavenly Delusion got to be featured! They're truly amazing!
another mf that talks about CGI, but doesn't know Sanzigen exists
ong, i was hoping for at least a mention of the black rock shooter anime since its use of CGI is PEAK
JoJo's has the best CGI for me
100th
Bro wtf also a aot cgi not bad wtf are yall yapping about
aot CGI is definitely not good. the entire liberio battle looked absolutely ass, when it was the most hyped battle in the manga. people really be giving aot a pass because of the hype and will defend it to death, when it's not even that much better than the other bad examples.
@@aquaarmour4924 sure dawg lmfao
@@aquaarmour4924In the fist part of the fourth season if attack on titan the cgi was not good, especially on the beast titan, but then they did it better as you can see in the final episodes.I mean it's anyways better than wit studio cgi, that didn't make the fourth season only for lack of time, but Mappa did it in a little time although they didn't have enough.
@@aquaarmour4924 bro sorry but like out of all anime’s that’s some good gc better at least they look like drawn and stuff they move very pretty stuff sometimes but bro remember how fast they had to make this shi
The "rotorscoping" of 3D models is exactly what I don't like with some 3D animation. It retains the worst part of 3D, the unnatural stiffness of the models, while just drawing over it.
Hiding the hideous parts of 3D has been getting better over the years, but there will always be more ugly 3D animation than there will ever be good ones, exactly cause it's not really a tech or skill issue anymore, but a budget issue.
One of the better uses of "drawn over cgi" out there is spiderverse
And it's copycats aren't half-bad either
But then again, those are all feature length features, with the budget of some small nation's GDP in a restricted time-frame of >120 minutes
