CARAMEL CORNFLAKES RECIPE

  • Calling all caramel lovers! This is a very easy and delicious way to indulge in some caramel when you feel snacky!
    This recipe also includes a Super easy way to make caramel sauce at home. Just remember 5 4 3 2 (1)! (Look below)
    Ingredients:
    5 tbsp Milk
    4 tbsp sugar
    3 tbsp water
    2 tbsp butter
    1 cup cornflakes
    Steps:
    1) Put water and sugar in a pan and mix it JUST A LITTLE.
    2) Wait until you see a slightly golden colour. Once you see the colour, add butter and mix quickly until butter melts.
    3) Add the milk. CAUTION: You will see a lot of smoke and bubbles, do not be alarmed. MIX VIGOROUSLY, DO NOT STOP
    4) Mix until the caramel thickens, then turn off the stove.
    5) Add in the caramel and mix well until it is well coated.
    5) You can serve it after it cools down, but we don’t have that much of self-control and patience :)
    6) ENJOY!

    I made some of this last week because I wanted marshmallow rice krispie treats and had no rice krispies. I love this. I gave some to my dad who loves peanut brittle style snacks and he has eaten it all. Now I'm making more for him with some nuts and chocolate chips thrown in. Big hit. thanks for postings.

    This is awesome but a quicker method is to just do it with sugar and add I teaspoon of milk

    If me make cornflakes this way in a large batch will it stay crisp for later use and when used with milk?

    can I use oil instead of butter?

      Unfortunately it wouldn’t taste taste the same with oil, so it’s best to use Butter :)

      Hey! No dear it won’t! It’ll stay crispy! You just have to hold back the drools and wait for it to cool down first😉

      If you store it in the fridge, you can keep it for up to a week. But if you eat it within the day, you get the full sense of freshness! I can’t keep it for days, I finish it within a few mins bcos it’s very addictive haha 😆

      I think if i put this in the frigde the sugar would melts because of its moisturized so how would i rating it?

    I dont have to bake it? Most recipes i've seen ask to bake at least 10 minutes

      Yea it will! Just store it in an air-tight container. But if you are making this one batch, I’m pretty sure it’ll be all gone within 5 mins 😆❤️

      Hey! ❤️ So most of the time, this issue will occur when the cornflakes are not left to cool COMPLETELY! I know it’s super tempting to eat it while hot/warm, but that’s for those who like the chewy texture! Hold back a bit, and you’ll find it more crispy! But occasionally, it might also be because it’s left out opened for too long 😊 Hope this info helped💗
