Just when you see a super layout, something spectacular like this one comes along. Love the elevated subway cars and station platforms. Brings back memories of my city youth. Thanks Mike !
For sure! Fun and detailed layout for sure. I get so distracted watching and looking at everything I called a GP35 a SD35! Whoops! I don’t want to reshoot everything, o well. 😉
Awesome layout. I looked like he had an MTH TIU and remote when you showed the controllers, but you said they could not run MTH. Just wondering. Thanks for sharing, Mike.
He does but for some reason they unhooked it under the layout a couple years ago and never hooked it back up for running MTM. Kyle doesn’t even own a MTH locomotive which might be why.
@@Crazy4TrainsToysNHobbies on a beautiful hi-rail layout like that the only thing that is out of place is the third rail in the middle. When someone starts from brand new with the space and the money I just don't understand why they just don't go with true 0 scale 2 rail d.c. 0 gauge outside of standard gauge is the only gauge that is cursed by the third rail. In the old days you would take your Lionel Hudson that you spent a whole week's pay on to a guy who would make it to rail. 0 Scale Track it's not difficult to hand lay. 2 rail track is just so much more realistic than three rail. I can live with the through rail because I run Mike's train house subway car sets it should have outside third rail to be prototypical but I can live with it. Since I Model A prosperous Penn Central I run all of my electrics with pantograph down as they would in third rail territory. But that is hard to do if you model the Santa Fe or the Union Pacific. That was one thing I like about Mike's train house Premiere locomotives that you could order with scale wheels and they were switchable between 3 Wheel track and Two Wheel Track by just taking off the pickup and hitting a switch now that was great thinking. You can run most electric locomotives like Lionel gg1 off of catenary and have two rail track and still run Lionel Rolling Stock because there is nothing to short out. Some of New York Central Electric locomotives that Lionel made were exclusively third rail use and a little pantograph on top of the locomotive was for the switching track at Grand Central terminal it normally got power from the third rail. It is a shame that after WWII Lionel did not go to to rail the way American Flyer did. Oh well that's life
2 rail is nice also, just not labs much selection of stuff and harder to find. I’ve been eyeing a couple 2 rail locomotives and passenger cars. I’d run it in DCC. Yes, it was nice when MTH gave you the option of 2 rail or 3 rail operation. If I only wanted a few specific locomotives, I’d add a loop of two rail onto my layout for sure.

That’s a big layout!
For sure!
Whoever modeled/weathered the Lionel tower at 6:05 did an exceptional job!
Agreed, it doesn’t look like a plastic building anymore.
This is a club size layout this guy must be rich as hell more power to him
I think he is doing ok. 👍
Beautiful layout

Beautiful layout! You said he has open houses, where is he located? I would love to see this in person! That’s for sharing!
Hi Keith, yes, first Sunday of every
month from 11-4. It’s in St Louis Missouri. His Instagram is @greatest_stl_oscale_layout.
A great pity that railroad is not 0 scale 2 rail d.c. as it should be.
I’m pretty sure he likes it just as it is. 😉
