You can find them preowned/built on eBay from time to time. Marklin doesn’t produce the kits anymore with a solar panel lid type case. I think Noche still makes the briefcase style or base that you can buy your own case and track for.

Hi, MTH is still in business and still going strong. They restructured and are running leaner. They don’t produce catalogs but make run of their own and several custom runs for hobby shops and collaborate with Atlas on projects as well. I’m happy he decided not to sell and close down MTH. 👍🙂

Very nice! That has to look great, I had a PS2 toaster and sold it last year. I wasn’t going to keep Amtrak in my O Guage line up and changed my mind. I’ll find one again. 🙂👍

I didn’t make a video, I used balsa wood from the local hobby shop and an exact-o say. I had a pill bottle that was the perfect diameter to trace and cut a hole for the speaker. I used a dremel to cut the hole out.

My MTH cab forward has the Vanderbilt style tender and is too narrow at the bottom for me to build the box. It would work great on my daylight.

@Crazy4TrainsToysNHobbies It's a decent show I'd say. Mostly HO and N scale stuff, but there's also a number of people selling O scale stuff as well. Several layouts set up as well, along with the Sipping and Switching one. Of course your opinion of the show may differ from mine if you actually see it for yourself. If memory serves me correctly I've seen a few German HO scale bits there as well once or twice.

@SOU6900 sounds like our local train shows, a lot of N and HO, and mostly older O gauge stuff with very little G, S, and Standard gauge mixed in. Opposite of York.

@Crazy4TrainsToysNHobbies I'm already hearing next falls show should be a bit larger. I remember the spring show this year seemed to have a bigger O gauge turn out with most of those vendors in an overflow area.

Yes, thank you, I tried switching the plugs like some suggested and it was worse, almost no smoke either way. I’ve spent a lot of time tweaking the drive line and adding grease, there wasn’t any on the gears in the gear box, I’ve gotten rid of most of the wobble now also. The smoke unit is definitely a bad design, I guess there’s no fixing that or the color of the red paint.

I saw your post on Facebook about that, very cool! I have a PS3 3001 specialty set with pacemaker cars, I might order a different number Mohawk if they make it. Would be nice if the made the one at the St Louis Museum of transportation. 🙂

I talked MTH into offering one of the Mohawks with the roller bearing type side rods. MTH only offered that version once 15 years ago in 2010.

@DynamicDuo795 I just looked at mine, it’s cab 3100 not 3001 and has PS2 3Volt. Also has smoke deflectors that can be attached and removed and extra tender details to add. They are nice! I’m excited they are making them again. Also, thanks for the update on the P47, hopefully my Blue Comet with all the cars arrives then as well. 👍

Appears to be so, I gave them one last chance after several bad preorders a couple years ago. No more wasting money on Lionel for me.

That’s interesting for sure, maybe the same color on one of my 2 KCS SD40T’s. They were released the same year and are two different shades of light gray or one is sort of an off white. Substitute paint color maybe? 🤔 lol

Hi Dennis, my condolences for your family and your loss. We will catch up someday. That’s awesome that you have ridden the Katy. I was riding it a lot this summer to rehab my leg. Lots of scenery and we often jump on it to ride from home to Main Street St Charles for Coffee and breakfast, or in the afternoon to get an ice cream! Yes, sounds like we have similar luck with Lionel. I was a HUGE supporter and fan at one point. Not so much anymore. I do like MTH and Atlas a lot though. Solid cosmetic finishes and no issues with electronics or operating. 👍
