Thank you for making this video. You just answered all the things I was wondering about. You just saved me lot of time and money. I know what to do now. Thank you again. 🙏👍
Me and my wife rode from Albuquerque to Sturgis last year using our hammock touring seat on my street glide and she ended up complaining about her butt the next day so I told her that a lot of people like sheep skin on their seat so we pulled over and bought one that covered the entire seat and what a difference it made for both of us. Didn’t heard a peep about from her again for the rest of the trip. We took it off whenever there was rain storm and put it back on because we were afraid it’s gonna ruin it. I recommend it to a friend of mine and he bought one and likes it too.
When I saw this blue LR, I literally was like, "I HAVE to have that!" LOL I have the sheepskin on my Street Glide as well, it really makes a nice improvement to ride quality.
I ride supermoto and adv bikes and have always had sheepskin pelts strapped over the seat. Unsheared ones are best as they are thicc and provide more padding and thigh contact when you’re riding the bike.
Yep im a sumo rider and i rock the skin on my drz. All the cool kids laugh but i see them shuffle back and ford up and down trying to get feeling is there a55. His Harley seat looks like a lazy boy compared to plank of wood sumo seat.
Well, I hope I didn't make a mistake lol, I ordered the skwoosh medium without the gell insert that says it 3/4 "thick and a sit and fly mesh to go on top to add extra something, lol when I put it together I eill see 👀 😅
May work for some, only make my butt more hot yet. I have tried sheepskins on various BMW stock and Corbin seats, and no good for me. The sheepskin just holds even more heat under my butt. I need airflow, and a wooden bead seat cover works much better, even done a 500 mile day on one.
Lambskin or sheepskin (from older sheep)? Does it stay comfy during long rides? Do you have to take it off if it rains to dry it or just leave it on the seat?
I've never had it get wet, but my understanding it it takes a long time to dry. It's not supposed to be washed. If it is wet, it should air dry. Check out here: www.sheepskinshop.com/pages/care-instructions
Does sheepskin offer shock absorption or is it just for “sore butt”? I have a mustang seat (thousand dollar seat, I didn’t buy it lol) and I don’t get sore at all, but I’m a big guy and my bike just doesn’t handle the bumps well, transfers right to my spine and looking for some remedy to that.
I have a Mustang seat on my Street Glide that I got new a couple years ago. It seemed great at first, but after 20 min, my butt started getting sore. 12K miles later, it's still a pretty stiff seat. I don't know how, but the long hair sheepskin pad makes it much better. I wouldn't say it provides shock absorption. Maybe you need a gel pad or something like that? It's pretty infuriating to spend so much on a bike and have a seat that feels like a plank, right? I got a Fat Boy a few months ago and I put a sheepskin on the stock seat, and it improved it a lot.
@@bluesriderDF Yea, it is frustrating. My current bike, a Vulcan, was actually my mother’s, my father bought the seat because she complained about it not handling the bumps well. The seat did little to nothing for that unfortunately. It’s really the suspension in my bike, it’s a “unitrak” which is actually dirt-bike tech designed to keep better traction at the wheel, which is just completely unnecessary on a cruiser and sacrifices comfort. I don’t have back problems and have ridden it for years and just avoid bumps when I can, but I get really jealous when I ride something else lol, even my fathers st-1300 sport tourer absorbs the bumps better.

Awesome! I have them on both of my bikes and they really improve my comfort. As I get older, I don't have much padding down there as it is!

Sheep skin just work. 600 miles in a day and your rear-end don't hurt. Winter keep your butt warm, summer keep moisture away.
Truth!! Thanks for posting 😁
I’m thinking about a sheepskin seat cover, but I subscribed because of the awesome blue color of the Low Rider. Gets me every time.

Never thought supermoto would use these. Cool!

I have always thought the comfort comes from side support of the seat, but firm seats would be better than soft ones.
Is anything is better than the torture devices that come from the factory.
Now, if you ever get your wife to ride with you anymore, you could have used that first one for the back.
@@DOMAPOI I think she would rather ride on a literal sheep than my bike!
😂love the road kill comment! Great review!
LOL, thanks!

I've never liked gel pads. I also don't like to be lifted up any higher if it can be avoided. These things usually come down to trial and error.
very good info. I'm lookin for one
Thanks. 🙂 I use them on both bikes.

It's like that with a lot of things, one person swears by it and it's a no go for others. Is glad you found something that works for you.
A wooden bead seat?? I’ve never heard that one before. I’d be dead after 20 min 😂

Great detail nice job
Thanks much!!
I have a Honda trail 2022 what size u think would be right for that application
Just measure your seat and compare to the available options.
It will look like you’re sitting on a cat 😳
I have cats, and they love kneading & sleeping on it. 😄
