Awesome, thanks for your time and effort. Next weekend's job after someone has been a little careless on how they treat my van! MichaelAngelo, Melbourne, Australia

Only becomes a simple handyman exercise because of useful guidance upfront. Thanks Gerard.👌 My only problem was refitting the inside door plate - you might need to slide a driver at the side to lift tongue into slot.
Thank you very much Mr oldergeologist for this Great comment. I did not realized how hepful was this video. But a Great thank you for commenting on my you tube channel. All the best with your repair. Have a Great Week. Regards 👍🍾🎖️😊👄
@@TheFrenchChef The replacement handle arrived and has slight differences in it (spring sits 90 degrees further in one direction). Wondering if you could advise where you bought your handle from, please?
Good afternoon Raw29, thank you for asking questions. I bought this handled in a caravan place like Jayco in Townsville. Take a picture of your old handle to be sure it is the right model. Be sure that your lock is a Camec, as my video whas for Camec . But watch well on my video to see if it is the same spring and same handle , just to be sure you put the spring the right way. I guess they are all standard. Are you leaving in Australia.? Please let me know if I can assist you agin. All the best . Regards Gerard
Raws69 additive to my last answer. You can get the handle from ebay. I have copied the site of Ebay at the beginning of my video and it is the same than mine. Please have a look and also the little spring position is important i am pretty sure you have the good one . Have a look at the way i bend it to obtain the spring effect.
Thank you very much M Sdavidson10 for this great comment. I am so glad that this video is helping so many people. Thank you for subscribing to my humble channel. Have a Great week end. 😊😊👍🍾😁🏆🍾👄
Is it possible that there are different sizes of this part? I have found that the plastic barrel that houses the spring is a bit too wide to fit into place. I have filed it back a touch to try and get it to fit. Thank you for any comment.
Thank you for asking this question. I think this part is standard for Camec . It may depends of the model and the year. My caravan is 12 years old now and it was OK. I can see you are genius to have filed the part. That all we have to do in my opinion as they are in plastic. Thank you for asking. Have a great time and great week end enjoy touring with your caravan. remember always close the door with the key. Don't push the handle. 🏆😁👍🏅👄😊
Thanks for asking. If you watch the video at around 1;40 i push with a screwdriver the black plastic to release the whole lock and Baril. It is easy it all comes in one piece. the little spring at the end is more tricky . All the best 👍👍👍😊😊
Hi Dave sorry to hear about you misadventure with the internal handle . Could you please send me a few photos close up of the handle and door on my email. gerardgarbe@hotmail.com to see how i can help you. cheers Gerard😀
I saw the picture of the camec door on ebay it looks more easy to replace e than the outside handle because there is no spring. just remove the screw take photo each time before removing any part and replace the handle good luck. Cheers Gerard😀
Dear Helen. That will be more difficult - some people I know have been in the van by removing the roof window (the plastic cover) Keys were stolen by young kinds in the north territory. or check also if a window is still open. Or at last choice break the glass window on the door. I hope that help.

What if you can't open the door from the outside and therefore have no access to the inside door handle?
Dear Helen. That will be more difficult - some people I know have been in the van by removing the roof window (the plastic cover) Keys were stolen by young kinds in the north territory. or check also if a window is still open. Or at last choice break the glass window on the door. I hope that help.
