Everyone in every generation should listen to their extensive & incredibly entertaining catalogue & learn their stories, & find out how 4 young lads from Liverpool, England changed the world!!! There are innumerable reasons & recordings (from 1962-1970) that show why The Beatles are the GOATs among all the other GOATS in the world, & you should do yourself a favor and listen to it all. I know you'll enjoy the ride!! Each band member also had a very successful post-Beatles career, & there is SO MUCH great music in that assortment as well!!! And I can promise you this -- Just about EVERY song in The Beatles iconic catalogue is worth listening to.
I was 5, when the whole family sat down together to watch them on the Ed Sullivan Show. It's among my earliest memories, and the beginning of my becoming a lifelong fan!
It's SO strange for an older person to hear someone say they don't think they've listened to The Beatles before. I can't imagine a life without Beatles music.
The song was great, but the reaction was…meh. But that’s not unique to this couple. Reaction videos of general offer vapid content that does nothing but make you feel good that someone else likes the song you like. It’s not clear that they even like it. I mean, have you ever heard a negative comment about any song on any reaction video? They’re just sucking up to the audience. There are a few reactors out there who will actually increase your understanding or appreciation of a song. This is not one of them.
I was 11 the first time hearing this song in 1984 - it was the song that made me a Beatles fan for life. I fell in love with Lennon's voice that day and never looked back.
As an Old Boomer who has loved The Beatles for about sixty years it's hard for me to believe that there are young people who have never heard their music before, but I guess that there are. My own sons (in their mid-thirties now) are pretty familiar with their music, but that's because they heard me playing it a lot when they were kids.
The Beatles can to the US in February 1964 for their first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. In November 1963 President John Kennedy had been assassinated in Dallas. The country was in shock and had gone through a subdued holiday season because of it. In a way, the Beatles helped “snap us out of it”. Their music was new and fresh, and different, and was about to change the landscape of popular music. It’s hard to understand today what an impact they had without being in the moment of those times 60 years ago.
This was done in the early days of 4-track recording, in 1964. The Beatles, along with their producer George Martin, were able to get extraordinary results from the technology of the times. Their first 2 albums, released the previous year, were actually recorded on 2-track machines.
I honestly think the divide between millennials and Gen Z is that the Beatles were a definite part of many millennial childhoods, and Gen Z is the first generation since the Beatles that they were not. They were incredible and defined music for three generations.
I’m 74 and first saw the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show and in person at 14 in 1964 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA it was amazing, you’ve never heard screams like that. Four young men singing and playing their instruments. John on guitar and harmonica, Paul on bass, George on rhythm guitar and Ringo on drums. Pre electronic instruments and voices
First time listener and thank you for a great reaction! As mentioned, the Beatles have so many great songs. I always look at their "early" songs and their "later" songs. Some early Beatles, Twist and Shout, Hard Days Night, I Want to Hold Your Hand are just a few. Later songs as mentioned, listed to their entire second side of the Abbey Road album, a compilation of partially completed songs that they just played and recorded, Revolution is a great song, Here Comes the Sun and While My Guitar Gently weeps are just a few "later" tunes. These guys were simply amazing.
The Beetles evolved at an incredible rate - in just a few years they went from simple, catchy pop songs to creating new sounds unlike anything ever done before. Work your way through their catalog in the order the music was released and you'll see why they are considered the most consequential popular music group of all time.
It's almost impossible to pick just one favorite song by The Beatles. There are just so many that are wonderful. The Beatles walked down the hall of music knocking down doors on either side that opened up new fields for other bands to go in to explore. They made pop music into an art form that showed everyone that anything was possible. They explored all kinds of genres and combinations of genres and pushed the boundaries of the recording studio. As Alice Cooper said, "Everybody was influenced by somebody, but I think everybody was influenced by The Beatles." One of the many amazing things about The Beatles is how quickly they evolved in such a short time. As Elvis Costello said, "Every record was a shock when it came out. Every single was an event.” Or, as Ozzy Osbourne called them, “The Greatest Band To Ever Walk The Earth!”
Male vulnerability is an underrated aspect of their music. Baby’s In Black, If I Fell, No Reply, I Don’t Want To Spoil The Party etc. They were often wondering what to do, not stomping about.
You've just experienced the biggest selling music act in music history, and nobody else even comes close. They have the most #1 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 (with 20) and 35 overall top 10 hits. I would do whole album reviews if I were you. They are that amazing, and evolved so much in their 8 year recording history. I would start with the Beatles 1st album (Please, Please Me) and go right through until their final released album, "Let it Be". I Subscribed! Peace
This is early Beatles it’s so interesting how they evolved over time. 50 years later they still continue to have new fans. I would suggest A Day In The Life by them. An amazing song 😊
If you sample them in depth your mind will be blown! They have more different vibes than anyone you will ever listen too and yet you'll still always recognize it as.... The Beatles! They're simply the best!
"I Feel Fine" is one to consider! Same time period as this one (roughly) and another joyful 2 minutes or so of Beatles magic--different (as they always are) and historic (as they often were-first recorded use of distortion). You can listen to their top 50 songs and only scratch the sirface...
P.S. - And Magical Mystery Tour, plus A Hard Day’s Night were nothing to scoff at either. As a matter of fact, every Beatles album has something worthwhile on it.
❤❤, I feel the Beatles are not just a song/single group, they are also an album group, the Beatles are the reason I listen to everything an artist may have or why you shouldn’t judge an artist by one song or their singles
It's fun to see young people enjoying the Beat;es decades later. I was a teen and got to hear all their music first hand. Really incredible. Back then they could have six of their records on the top ten at the same time.
Oh my days!! Lol. Only The most famous group in the world!!😂 from Liverpool. So famous that Michael Jackson spent an absolute fortune buying the copyrights to their back catalogue. Everyone has covered at least one of their songs at some time. Their catalogue is huge as Paul McCartney and John Lennon were prolific songwriters. I'm an American who's parents generation this song and band belonged to the most, but this is YOUR countrymen! There is and never will be any band as great as the Beatles...be proud of that! From a Yank
Great reaction. I would suggest that you seek out, and listen to as many LIVE Beatles videos as you can. That will give you an opportunity to understand just how good they were as a genuine working band. Most people know they started in Liverpool. From 1960-1962 they made five tours to Hamburg, to play in the nightclubs, in the red light district. They played 8 hours/night, 7 days/week. Their repertoire was huge (has to be when you play 8 hours/night), and they became very tight as a performing band. The ability to play live stayed with them throughout their career, and that can be seen in the famous "rooftop concert."
Between 1962 and 1970 the Beatles recorded 212 songs, most are great and they're all different. And their development in those years was amazing. They owned the 1960s. Welcome to Beatle World, please continue on this journey, I subscribed hoping you will. And you're charming people
In this time period the majority of songs were enduring love, lost love, jilted love, most beautiful girl, love at first sight. The Beatles were experts.
Lennon’s vocal is one of the greatest in popular music. When he rehearses he sings out of tune and mucks about but as soon as it’s a take then all of a sudden and as if by magic he sings perfectly. The Beatles are the greatest.
You guys have just stumbled upon it, and you do t realize it. Not yet. There is a reason The Beatles are still so relevant. Here’s what I’ve always maintained… The Beatles built the house. Everybody else is just trying to rent a room. Jump into this rabbit hole and you’ll find out.
OMG! How can you be unfamiliar with the Beatles?! What sheltered lives you have lived. Your parents forgot part of your education! Enjoy your journey. You have taken the first step on a beautiful journey. There are no bad Beatles songs 🌺✌️
Okay here are some good suggestions. The song hey Jude performed live on the Dick cavett show where the whole crowd joins in the ending part. The song help from the album help where they are playing with their guitars while they're on a bicycle built for four with Ringo in the back twirling an umbrella. Anything with a live performance so you can watch them work the microphones and see how professional they are. Songs from the other spectrum the end of their beetle years such as I want you she's so heavy. Another song Helter skelter is notable for its introduction of hard rock to the world. You will soon see that everything the Beatles recorded was worth listening to.
As others have said, The Beatles were incredibly versatile. Trippy (Tomorrow Never Knows, Strawberry Fields, etc), poppy (She Loves You), melodic (In My Life, Yesterday), great harmonies (If I Fell + about 50% iof their output), blues, kids songs, heartfelt acoustics, piano ballads, scary shit (Blue Jay Way). Absolute genius band. The gift that keeps on giving.
The Beatles are considered one of the greatest musical groups of all times. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988. Also all four members of the Beatles have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as individuals as well.
This is the song when i was about 14- 15 back in the 80s. I walked into our kitchen when my mom was doing dishes listening to the radio. It hit me like a ton of bricks. The harmonies, the harmonica. I just stood there stunned as to what i was hearing. I've been a diehard Beatles fan since that day. I finally made it to Liverpool England in 2006 😁

The most amazing thing about the Beatles was how fast they evolved from simple rock-a-billy to some really sophisticated musical concepts. They did all this within about ten years, breaking up in 1967, I think...
The picture on this album sported these hair cuts that were a new look. The barber shot where they got them still exists there. A few years back Paul visited the shop and the original owner was still there. Coo!!!! 😊

I get a little panicked when people say they are listening to the Beatles for the FIRST TIME EVER. As in, what the hell song will they CHOOSE, from so many GREAT ones--each so unique? The first tune is crucial, but even more important is to listen to dozens of songs over the span of the band's career to see how astoundingly they evolved, year by year, album to album. I can't even image hearing The Beatles for *the first time*. The concept makes me laugh. Since childhood, I've probably listened to their music almost every day for the last fifty years. They are woven into the fabric of my life, like family. Welcome down the rabbit hole, kids!!!

I saw the Beatles in concert live in August of 1965 in Portland Oregon. It was an amazing to not only hear them in person, but to hear the ear-piercing screams from all all the girls that were there. It was an incredible once-in-a-lifetime experience for me. They sounded just as good live as they were on their recordings.
I envy you young folk that are hearing this great music for he first time yet as one who was 12 when I first heard them, it is a thrill to share your reaction.
This is so early for them but even then it was so compelling, they had already put in a ton of time playing live in small venues that were really hardcore. Most notably the cavern in Liverpool which is where they were from, a shipping town and very blue collar, but also in Hamburg Germany for a while. And then in 1964 when they were so young, they exploded globally and they made a trip to the United States to play on The Ed Sullivan Show in New York and that is all she wrote. That is literally what the British Invasion in music refers to in terms of its beginning.
What a nice reaction! Honestly? I'm subscribed now because I would love to see you react to the entire catalog in order. It's mind-blowing to realize the quick sound progression over 8 YEARS. In modern terms, that's going from 2016 til now.

The history of The Beatles, & how their empire was built, & why they are still so very popular, is a story every music fan should know!!
I grew up in NY and turned 9 on February 8, 1964. NY was going crazy with those two weekends of Beatlemania.
I was 5, when the whole family sat down together to watch them on the Ed Sullivan Show. It's among my earliest memories, and the beginning of my becoming a lifelong fan!
Me too! 9!!!!!
I was just 4, but I still remember it. My mother said it looked like Ringo (the drummer) could use a glass of water.
@@jimfrederick3907 Hello my fellow New Yorker! I remember those days well. I was 11 years old in February of 1964. It was crazy fun!
They were the biggest band to ever come out of England and the greatest band of all-time.
What a ride you have coming! The Beatles did it all. Jump in and enjoy. No one takes you to as many different places as the Beatles.
Hardly any group simply expressed innocent joy in such a authentic way.
It's SO strange for an older person to hear someone say they don't think they've listened to The Beatles before. I can't imagine a life without Beatles music.
Try "I want to hold your hand" and "I saw her standing there"
More Beatles please 😎 thanks 🌷
Great reaction ! Note all the song on this LP are GREAT ! more BEATLES
You are two lovely, openhearted, and genuine people. Thank you for sharing your experiences with music with us!
This is early Beatles. It’s the early stuff. The Beatles are a rabbit hole that is so deep and so wide you won’t believe it.
And here's me thinking they were a pop group.
90% of my brain is taken up by Beatles songs. Once you hear one, it stays with you.
2 seconds the heads started going then the smiles. Greatest band ever.❤
Are those Brittish accents coming from you two? If so, how do you not know the Beatles? One of Britain's gifts to the 🌎😊
The Beetles evolved at an incredible rate - in just a few years they went from simple, catchy pop songs to creating new sounds unlike anything ever done before.
We were so happy listening to their music and all the other music of that era. Also there were little lessons in the songs.
My thoughts exactly.
The Beatles kept it simple and laid down a groove. No pressure. You could just relax and have fun with it. 60's music was all about fun.
I was 18yo back in 1966 and then I heard Rubber Sole and then I heard real stereo for the first time. I was thrilled to the bone.
Their later stuff is amazing. Abbey Road is one of the best albums ever made.
100%
So was Sgt Pepper, The White Album, Revolver, and Rubber Soul.
P.S. - And Magical Mystery Tour, plus A Hard Day’s Night were nothing to scoff at either. As a matter of fact, every Beatles album has something worthwhile on it.
Revolver !
I used to think like that. Not anymore. Early beatles is as good as the later stuff. Just different
The Beatles added almost every instrument into their songs. That's one of the reasons they are the leading sellers of music of all time.
You have probably heard dozens of their songs but didn't know it. A truly deep rabbit hole and one you will very much enjoy. Love your reactions and the sweet way you conduct yourselves. 👍🇬🇧
And you're charming people
This is not only one of my favorite Beatles’ songs but one of my favorite songs ever.
In this time period the majority of songs were enduring love, lost love, jilted love, most beautiful girl, love at first sight. The Beatles were experts.
Your Beatles journey will last more than 50 years. You've only just begun.
The greatest band of all time. No question
It's said that travel broadens the mind, a journey into the Beatles will broaden your musical minds forever. Take the journey and enjoy.
They reinvented the music business. Beatles Forever
OMG! How can you be unfamiliar with the Beatles?! What sheltered lives you have lived. Your parents forgot part of your education! Enjoy your journey. You have taken the first step on a beautiful journey. There are no bad Beatles songs 🌺✌️
It all started with’Love me Do’.
So many great songs, keep going 😎👍
Welcome to the coolest rabbit hole. You two have much joy in store if you choose to explore it.
the Beatles! you gotta get to know them!
This is your first listen to the Beatles? You have a long, EXCELLENT journey ahead of you!
The Beatles I fell in love with as a teenager ❤😂❤
My favorite Beatles song. John’s voice ❤️
Begin your journey of discovery at the beginning and continue chronologically, from '62 to '70, experience it the way the world did!
Another great reaction. You should see the video of this song from their movie, A Hard Day’s Night.
The Beatles are considered one of the greatest musical groups of all times. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988. Also all four members of the Beatles have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as individuals as well.
It is impossible to pick a favorite Beatles song because there are just so many great ones. That’s what makes them the G.O.A.T.
I finally made it to Liverpool England in 2006 😁
I am so glad you like the music I grew up with. Pure magic.
These are some of the music world songs that gave all others a reason to believe in their modern-day talents.
Every modern-day artist and songs weren't even thought of then(Class of 71):2024
Great reaction..
Keep digging..
Beatles are the GOAT's
React to all the Beatles music you can!
It will be a fun eye opening experience for you two.
But just remember to breakup the reaction while listening to it like you did with this one so you don't get blocked by UA-cam.
I love your presence and your personalities.
Good luck
The most amazing thing about the Beatles was how fast they evolved from simple rock-a-billy to some really sophisticated musical concepts. They did all this within about ten years, breaking up in 1967, I think...
The picture on this album sported these hair cuts that were a new look. The barber shot where they got them still exists there. A few years back Paul visited the shop and the original owner was still there. Coo!!!! 😊
I am 77 years old ( same age as Sir Brian May ) and the Beatles were the soundtrack to my teens. I was lucky enough to see them live in 1966.
Seeings how you two are literally kids, lm 67, l still found it amazing that you hadnt listened to the Beatles, but hey better late than never. l grew up listening to Funk, lm going to throw out a request, and ask for a reaction to James Brown, Doin It to Death or Payback.
Oh my god...If you two are just setting out on the Beatles, what a trip you are about to embark on. You are so lucky to be setting of on that trip for the first time. Subscribed...do some more..
thanks you took me back to my early teens, got to go to two of their concerts(won tickets both time off the radio) was awesome.
Never gets old😎
I saw the Beatles in concert live in August of 1965 in Portland Oregon. It was an amazing to not only hear them in person, but to hear the ear-piercing screams from all all the girls that were there. It was an incredible once-in-a-lifetime experience for me. They sounded just as good live as they were on their recordings.
Two Of Us
The 13 songs on A Hard Day's Night are consistently diverse and consistently great. They composed the title song literally overnight.
I love early Beatles. So true and innocent.❤ ❤❤
I envy you young folk that are hearing this great music for he first time yet as one who was 12 when I first heard them, it is a thrill to share your reaction.
"I think they're British" ... face palm!
Yeah, unbelievable! At least they're listening to proper music!
They have a whole album of number one songs.
What a nice reaction! Honestly? I'm subscribed now because I would love to see you react to the entire catalog in order. It's mind-blowing to realize the quick sound progression over 8 YEARS. In modern terms, that's going from 2016 til now.
"Things We Said Today" is one of my favorite fast songs by the group. "Here, There & Everywhere" is one of my favorite slow songs.
It's 1964.
For having reacted to the Beatles I subscribed to you.
The Beatles grew and changed a lot over the years. This was an early song of theirs and they have a lot of different sounds with different lead singers. This was John Lennon. I'd recommend one from Paul McCartney - Let it Be or one from George Harrison - Here Comes The Sun next.
You guys will love the Beatles
