  • In this video I look at how Pixinsight's HDRmultiscale transform tool can be used to fix the core of M13 from being washed out looking. This same technique can be used on other deepsky objects like M42 or M31 where the core's are often blown out but we'd like to see details. Check out my video and let me know if this helps you!

Exactly what I was needing to know. Working on M3 right now. Appreciate it.

I’m new to the Astro game and climbing the Pixinsight learning curve as fast as possible. This technique turned my M13 photo into an absolutely stunning image. Perhaps my best so far. Many thanks!! hank

The propeller can be seen clearly after applying this technique. This is gold as I was trying to figure out how to bring the propeller out more. Thank You

I immediately ran into trouble with these instructions. When I move the slider in Range Selection, the preview goes from totally white to only a very tiny bit of the cluster being visible with only the tiniest movement of the cursor. I tried manually keying in values into the box. In most cases they just show the fully stretched image. Smoothness doesn't get rid of the stars. It just blows them up to large disks.
