  • No one ever likes being disregarded, ignored, or overlooked by people. Such rejection cowers our spirit and burdens our sensitivities. But being “passed over” in judgment is a welcome exception. When God established the yearly memorial of the Passover, He wanted His people to remember that they could’ve died were it not for His powerful intervention. This familiar story tells us four poignant truths.
    This teaching is from our series Bloodline: Tracing God's Rescue Mission from Eden to Eternity with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Church.

    Thank you for pointing out the progressive stages of blood coverage, from individual persons to individual families, to individual nations, and to the whole world. Praise God for the Lamb that take away the sin of the world.

    Great sermon. Life is in the blood.
    Thank Yahusha for shedding your precious blood for our sins. God Bless you Skip.
    On a side note the the stain removal advice was good too:-
    Glycerin = Ballpoint pen
    Boiling water = Berries
    Vinegar = crayon
    Ammonia = Bloodstains
    Alcohol = grass stains
    Hydrogen peroxide = magic marker
    Bleach = mildew
    Lemon juice = rust

    Huge lump in my throat! Loved this sermon! One of my favorite sermons by Charles Spurgeon is “The Blood” and another is “The Voice of the Blood”. Thank you!! In Christ, Robin

    The story of the passover reminds me of Jesus saying that offended so many. John 6:53-56 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. I was offended myself at first, sounded like cannibalism. But now of course realize, he is the Lamb of God, the perfect sacrifice. As the Israelites had to eat the lamb, so do we.

    Please can you tell me where the story about watching the people go to Jerusalem that Skip tells at the end of the sermon comes from. Is it from a Walter Wangerin book?

      Hello Santos,
      My name is Austin Walker, and I serve as one of the pastors here at Calvary Church Albuquerque. I am sorry to hear about your son passing away on March 2nd as it places a whole new normal on life for everyone, especially the parents. As we make sure the pastoral team is available for families whose loved ones have passed away, we often do not announce someone’s death from the pulpit, unless that pulpit is being utilized for a memorial service. If you’d like talk more about this, you are more than welcome to contact me by calling our main office. Thank you for sharing your heart with us.
      In His Great Love and Service,
      Pastor Austin Walker
