So I write songs and sing. But in the first three words of this song, Freddie Mercury pours out more of his blood and guts than I have in 30 years of recording. He's the absolute master, bar none.
And by the way, holy crap is John Deacon a great bass player.
The first thing Freddie would likely tell anyone claiming to be a musician is to “keep on trying ‘til the end of time”.

If this song isn't proof of God I don't know what is. Freddie was very sick at this time, and even though he didn't know when exactly he was dying he knew it was coming (and he died this same year). Freddie turned to God when he was sick, and God waited till Freddie repented to take his life. That's just so incredible. Go with God

This started off as a song called "Africa By Night" that Freddie Mercury wrote this for his 1988 solo album, Barcelona. He recorded the song, but decided not to use it. When Queen was working on Innuendo, he revived the track and reworked it with the band.

He would've been the greates leader of all times...He was a great leader in many ways. Freddie was Freddie, not one in a million or millinillion or what-ever the biggest number is. Freddie was and would be Freddie to Infinity.

I daubt there ever be a band again who can creat something like this. They said Freddie was one in a million att the US R&R Hall of fame thats not true not even one in a billion comes close in my opinion.

Incredible the immense power and strength in Freddie's voice considering that he was very sick and dying during the making of this album. He drew his strength from God.

When this Album came out some 30 years ago i been still a young man!! Now i'm getting old and this entire Album brings back great memories back than we lived in a much innocent time and we didn't even know it!! Back than the biggest issue been HIV and AIDS that claimed many singers song writers and took away Freddy Mercury way too soon!! RIP
Absolutely Amazing Vocals
Con un evidente guiño a la música gospel, Queen da vida a una de las piezas musicales más "espirituales" (si cabe el término) de toda su producción. Tocado en lo más profundo de su ser por la enfermedad que rápidamente lo destruía, Freddy Mercury dirigió una mirada suplicante a los cielos y cantó: "No des la espalda a las enseñanzas del Señor", en un muy humano intento de "exorcizar sus demonios" antes de enfrentarse a lo desconocido. La gran Celia Cruz hizo lo mismo, y desde aquel corazón compungido por la realidad ineludible de la muerte, surgió "La Vida es un Carnaval". En el caso de Freddie Mercury queda flotando la gran pregunta que muchos de sus fanáticos siempre se han hecho: si el hombre llamado Farrokh Bulsara verdaderamente se hubiese aproximado a Dios, como pareciera desearlo con toda su alma en esta canción, ¿habría evitado aquellos excesos que lo llevaron a la muerte?
