Fake & Toxic Foods in China 2023 Final Edition: Endless Death Loop of Mutual Harm in Underprivileged

  • Unfortunately, this "mutual harm at the bottom" phenomenon is prevalent in China. For instance, chefs don't eat the food they cook, bun shop owners don't eat their buns, and food factory workers don't consume products from their factories. These individuals often act selfishly without considering others. Some even harbor delusions of getting rich overnight and, lacking moral scruples, resort to fraud and deceit. Unbeknownst to them, if everyone acted this way without effective regulation, society would descend into a chaotic and dangerous state, leading to harm for all, with no one spared.

Food standards in Mainland China are consistently disgusting. Here is a very real account from Guangzhou:
Chinese friends insist on this low-budget open-air buffet style restaurant beside a hotel. Readers should know this is before Xi's "clean your plate campaign" and it was becoming notorious for big shots to order way too much food and leave over half uneaten. (as social status trend).
While waiting for Chinese friends to choose their dishes, the least worst thing was seeing a massive, I mean a cat-sized rat just climb right up the wall, stop, look at the food cooking and scurry off. That was the least worst thing.
One thing I'm repulsed by is how all the dishes look kind of 'greyed'. What I mean is there was a kind of similar color despite being ordinarily very different colored foods. Also odd was that (example) 5 different things had little clumps of sticky rice but normally those dishes don't have a little sticky rice mixed in.
While they eat I try to find an out of the way place to have a smoke. I go around back and there is a kind of dark trail behind area and just as I light up - here comes a small parade of cooks from the hotel, each carrying an armful of silver trays, food trays.
Before I could think "OH nooo.. they are 'recycling' the leftover food from someone else's dinner..." they all see me and get a near 'comedy movie' halt and super guilty 'caught' look on their faces. Mind you, they weren't even being that secretive as they fairly obviously went to the back door of the crummy 'rat kitchen' and dumped out the contents in bins and then did a procession back to the hotel's back door.
It made sense why all the food at the cheap restaurant had this same 'mixed color hue' and why there was other foods mixed into the other foods. It wasn't a 'recipe' but just what happens when scraping off plates of food.
Chinese themselves don't seem to have high standards though. This restaurant, like many others, it was street seating and obviously near a manhole or vent with the worst sewage smell ever. You'd start gagging at the rotten toilet stink wafting around but all the Chinese just gobbled away, making wide-open chewing noises as they ate just fine, not at all bothered by the smell of rotting hot sewage methane gas in the air.

    • @MK_ULTRA420
      @MK_ULTRA420 9 місяців тому +15

Thank you for your comment, it feels like it would fit right in as an excerpt from Eurasia in Orwell's 1984.
The smell from the manhole is likely because of low flow from the main sewer line (likely to save money on water), so that's probably the local government's fault rather than the restaurant. A normal flow of sewer water would create a vacuum that would draw in most of the noxious gases away from the surface.

    • @topsuperseven7910
      @topsuperseven7910 9 місяців тому +6

@@MK_ULTRA420 yes and they do not use rising vents like you might see in some countries. what you can see here on youtube is a hundred videos of 'spring festival firecracker explosions' where children get a hold of a lighter and firecracker and toss it down the hole only to have a massive street collapsing explosion as all that methane ignites.
All that said it continues to amaze me to find outdoor eating areas, often packed with people, all eating their chicken feet bbq and chatting it up while the most horrific rotten sewage stink wafts all over everyone.
they do not seem to care about it at all.

@@topsuperseven7910 I've seen those firecracker videos lol I'd also probably do that as a kid!
China doesn't even need vents except for extreme cases like manure/chemical runoff; they just need to send more water through the pipes like a developed nation would.
edit: As far as the other Chinese customers being okay with it all, I'm pretty sure that they're just saving face and/or just like the price. I don't know what else to say; I'm otherwise flabbergasted.

I live in NYC, we still have some Chinese restaurants here getting busted for using street rats, skinning them, and cooking them into some meat dishes. Back in the day some Chinese restaurants got caught using stray cats as well, and using dog meat in other dishes. The majority of Chinese restaurants here are good and don’t do this here due to our stricter food safety laws, but there are a few bad apples that continue to feed the bad stereotypes about Chinese restaurants here.
I remember in 2009 walking into a Chinese restaurant by my old apartment and seeing the guy walking around the kitchen barefoot, touching cooked food after touching money without gloves, picked his nose than touched a dish. And then I saw grab egg rolls that were on the floor for several minutes and put them in the fryer for an order. Needless to I did not order anything there and I reported them to the food inspectors. A week later they were shut down for good meaning the health inspectors found many more issues than just the complaints I made.

Rich Chinese buy imported food as much as possible because food safety problems are everywhere ranging from unlimited use of chemicals & pesticides, heavily contaminated air/water/soil, improper cleaning/hygiene, etc. The sad part is a lot of food from China or manufactured in China is being sold in the USA. This is why people all over the world are suffering from health issues specifically stomach issues. Food isn’t food anymore. I had to schedule an appointment with a gastroenterologist the other day because of my severe stomach problems and they told me they couldn’t see me for at least 4 month because they are so backed up. That’s speaks volumes with how bad things are. I’m quite literally scared to eat food. I’m on a strict diet and only eat once a day now. I press my hands together and say A prayer before I put any food in my body with the hopes that I won’t be in bed all day with stomach pains and bloating. It’s crazy because I’ve never had any issues before but once I turned 30 out of no where major stomach issues eating certain foods that I ate all my life. I just can’t understand it.

Yes. My friends who travel say the first few weeks they leave USA all their health issues clear up, skin clears up, thyroid issues and blood pressure but the first few weeks back in USA it all comes back. Our fda is not as bad as china but it’s pretty bad. Our fda allows so many cancerous processed, chemically enhanced and dangerous foods for us to consume. I live in Fresno which is the biggest produce valley in California. We produce most of ur fruits n veggies u eat. And we also use a pesticide that’s been banned most elsewhere, even in the states it’s banned elsewhere…yet the leading produce valley here uses it. The air quality is terrible bc of this. I think everyone especially in the states should try to start growing their own food and getting things locally n naturally resourced. The scariest thought is that our goverment absolutely would allow the same if they could get away with it as easy. Its not like our gov isn’t known for doing strange and dangerous practices without the consent of the public. Like when they used to put fluoride and lead in the water we drink. Talc in our baby powder (it’s still allowed) and poison in our tampons…most our processed meats are cancerous

No matter what I eat, I get immediately bloated up. More often than not, I also end up in severe pain. I've just spent a week in bed with severe stomach pain which was so bad I thought I was dying. Over the last twenty years I have developed a lot of food allergies, most of which I never had before. Hardly anything left that I can eat now and the list of foods I have to avoid keeps growing.
Despite my extremely restricted diet, I keep putting on weight at the rate of 10 kilogram (22 pounds) per year. I'm fatter than I've ever been, can't get used to this new - fat - body.
Whatever they put into food - it's not food! It's something else!

Our FDA is fundamentally Un-Constitutional, like almost every Bureaucratic "Agency" or "Administration". Its guidelines are heavily influenced by Big Pharma and to a lesser degree Big Agriculture. This is the downside of our Prosperity- the concentration of economic power and political influence. Fortunately the States and Localities and control the majority of food supply laws and regulations, along with the knowledge of the market.
But to mention the FDA in the same sentence as anything Chinese is absurd in the extreme.

But it got shut down nonetheless because food adulteration is taken very seriously. The level of dangerous scams in the Chinese food industry is staggering.

At my last job I was supervising multiple kitchens in a rental space. There was an Asian man who recently moved to America from China and decided to rent a restaurant at my work calling it "Lazy Sunday" A few weeks in and my coworker noticed he had raw chicken sitting out next to clean dishes, a few hours pass as he does his morning duties. The chickens still there. Hoping the restaurant owner would take care of it on his own he let him be. 8 hours after he first noticed the chicken it was still in the same place but had visibly gone rancid. Doing what any normal person should do he decided to throw it out on his own. Well the restaurant owner had called the cops on my coworkers and tried getting him arrested all because he threw away the mans health hazard which he was planning on using. A week later the health inspector told us not to interact with the kitchens and to only let chain of command take care of it.

I helped out at one of my family’s stores which was a seafood business.
Yes, we are in Australia and I understand that it is very different. However, we certainly had meal bundles and deals which were unbelievably cheap for the quantity and quality. Despite being 600km from the closest ocean, for $7, we would sell a large individual meal made to order out of the customers choice of fresh fish. During lunch or dinner breaks, all staff members were allowed to have a free meal off the menu and every single employee took the opportunity (including myself and my family!)
We took pride in our work and our products and so did our staff!!!

They are what we would call "Class 2" or "class 3".
That means that they will have small bruises on them, they will be the wonky ones you can't sell in the shops.
They are NOT all perfectly round and have the correct colouring.
If they have blemishes on the skin then they will pass
Some may even have gouges or scars in the skin from infrequent watering.
HOWEVER... Having said that, they will NOT be diseased or mouldy. They will not be rotten or anything like that. They will simply LOOK "bad".
So at least you know you will be eating foods fit to eat.

I 100% believe, that this exact thing is happening inside of the local carryouts in the USA.. if I call and order for some general tso's chicken or beef, it will be ready in 4 1/2 minutes.. because of the demand, they are definitely getting away with cutting a lot of corners and just tossing it with sauce😵‍💫

Seeing what they CHOOSE to eat, I'm surprised they're upset about a condom or a rat head in their food.

I feel so bad for Chinese citizens. Food deserts are a problem here in the States, but their entire country is a food desert!

I visited a Chinese restaurant in Missouri years ago. We sat near the back of the restaurant and looking through the window we noted a lot of cages stacked up. We can only imagine what they were catching in them.. 🐶🐱🐭

I remember going to a Chinese restaurant in town only to hear dogs barking in their backyard. I went with family and we immediately left. We've been to many Asian restaurants back then, and that was the only one that sketched us out.

There is no food standard agency in CCP, no food safety what so ever, that is why I don’t eat in Chinese restaurants in China. I try to avoid eating in Chinese restaurants abroad too.

Good Lord in Heaven! Even if I am in the USA looking at this makes me so incredibly nauseous I am afraid I won't want to eat Chinese food ever again, even if it's prepared properly with high quality ingredients! I'm sorry but this is PTSD worthy!
