If I remember correctly, my sister had one but it took plain ol' SD cards (probably no bigger than 2 GB because it was 2006~2008, something like that.)
3:54 Had that one, different "manufacturer" obviously. It was freaking great, at least few days on a single battery, could change playback speed, had equalizer, pendrive capability, few different colors if backlight, if it said 256MB you had 256MB storage space and most importantly it was basically indestructible like Nokia. You didn't need any cables or software, just plug and play. Only down sides was sound quality and the black plastic became sticky after couple years...
The Sansa e200 series is my favorite mp3 player ever. Still have bunch of of the different variants and iterations it came in, loved the feel of the metal back, and installing Rockbox opened up a lot of features. Glad you finally pulled that nug!
Sansa was a great cheap alternative to apple. I had one as my first mp3 player when i was just in middle school and that thing was great. Easy to use, the software wasn't terrible, and the blue LEDs were always awesome

Yay, dunkpods! Also, at 14:26: you might be doing this for the fun of the video, but if not: don't plug power-hungry devices into the keyboard; their USB ports cannot deliver as much power as those of the iMac itself.
3:42 the NAND is depleted and no longer will accept write cycles, the system mistakenly says is full, when is actually read-only, if its not the case those are officially suported by RockBox
7:37 I had an iPod Nano and I had movies on it, and I distinctly remember huddling with my cousin watching Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny on that utterly tiny screen sharing a headphone each. I am perfectly aware of how good we have it now
1:00 That connector used in this device was created in the early 2000s by the TTA(Telecommunications Technology Association), a Korean standard-setting organization for telecommunications, to unify mobile phone connectors. It seems that it was used to make charging easier in South Korea.(I don't know why they used South-Korea-only connectors for products to be sold in other countries)
It's nice to see who those 2 dogs are for RCA, they still have them as models for (I think all of their devices) my tablet and DVD player has them. Kinda cool actually to see they have kept the same two dogs
Seeing that sandisk nugget brought back memories. Pirate Bay at 9pm trying to find the new rise against album, keeping a spare battery in my bag, getting laughed at for not having an ipod, and then i got the gen 1 zune and gave my sandisk to a cousin. Biggest mistake of my life. Still have that brick somewhere here, i occasionally use it for spiders or as a hammer.
4:40 Holy shit I had this exact RCA model in high school. It was my favorite thing to bump UA-cam ripped dupstep in 2011. That's a nostalgia trip I didn't expect but made my day.
1:17 is the reason one senator called for the standardization of all rechargeable devices to USB mini/micro (Apple was still using 30pin at the time). Everyone harps on USB mini/micro... but you all don't know what the rest of us went through. You think you got it bad now? You don't know anything about having a device with its own proprietary charging cable (and sometimes charger). Even just switching the same device from one generation to the next would get a completely different cable end. The very first charging packs would come with a small baggy full of interchangeable ends just so you could have the right one and yet it was impossible to ensure you had them all. It really was a cable HELL.
I have mine in a drawer in my parents' place. The internal memory started corrupting so I swapped to using my not-smart touchscreen phone for my music instead.
The joy I felt seeing one of my favorite channels (you) mentioning one of my other favorite channels (Technology Connections) is indescribable, you're both the actual best :')
7:29 Same here, but no school, just complete isolation in a rural farm house for a year with no internet. Bought a bootleg nano at Walmart having no idea what it was, kept me sane with the preinstalled music and videos on it. Honestly I was just amazed that it had a backlit LCD screen! Ahh, those were... not the days.
5:38 I HAD THAT RCA. IT WAS GREAT UNTIL THE HEADPHONE PLUG FUCKED ITSELF AND YOU HAD TO FORCE IT INTO THE SLOT TO GET ANY (STATIC-Y) SOUND. I LOVED IT UNTIL THAT POINT, THE BUILT IN RADIO RECORDING WAS SOOOO GOOD FOR ME.
These types of videos is my faves. Although I have never owned a "pod" or any kind of discrete MP3 player (my phone works just fine for music, thanks, are you crazy), the very idea of such quaintness tickles me youthful self. The concept of a relatively recent world that entertained such devices is fascinating and weird-plus-ultra. Please do three hour nugget dips in the future. Or longer! It's all good.
10:39 ahaha i loved that nugget, i got it as a xmas gift and run like 5 or 6 in2 the ground until i got an official letter from creative that my warranty got revoked 😂😂😂😂 on the one i was stuck with the screen gave out and became poor mans ipod shuffle, I've memorized the menus and used that thing for a few years, good memories
I had both those Sansas. On the second one, with the click wheel, I even installed the Rockbox IO, which had games and stuff that I played until I destroyed the buttons. Sansa was the sweet spot - good enough to use, but not so expensive that I worried about bricking it by flashing dodgy firmware.
3:15 i had one of these. didn't use proprietary software (since it was sandisk and sandisk does USB devices) you could just drag and drop music to it via the explorer/file system :>
That Creative at around 10:48 my friend in high school had one of those. I always thought it was cool because they had a “line in” aux port. Meaning you could plus the line in and then plug it into any other players headphone jack and basically record their music.

When Dankael Dankius said “It’s Dunkin Time” it was truly one of the dunkiest moment in Nuggo History
You said it my nugga

Had that one, different "manufacturer" obviously.
I had Sansa Clip Zip, it died last month :(
But I'll try to repair it of course! I had Rockbox installed as well.
just found out about your channel this week, and i have watched practically all of your vides, not even for the tech, just you have a hilarious personality. Thanks for being an actually funny tech channel!
Welcome to the Garbage Can®
I had one of those sansa E200 with the scroll wheel! That was an excellent nugget. So many bus rides made better with that old nug. So glad it was working to see it in all its glory again or at least what 15 years did to it. Happy it was the best of the lot this time.
Now all we need is a longer longest nugget lucky dip, and we’ll be all set.
I'm sorry that your only other response was a bot
@@Ferrari255GTO what are you gonna do? Go to UA-cam and make them fix something? Haha (that’s me laughing because of how unrealistic that task is to accomplish)
@hello one hour each week right?
@@paulofduty2005 they often don't even take out bots, i have been seeing that one for a couple of months now. I don't think they're doing as much as they could given that google is the biggest name ever in history...
I blame you entirely, I finally picked myself up an (electronic) drum kit
Thank you for the push
10:45 best nugget feature by far

@@interweb_loser what did it say?
Just really quickly, if you are going to leave a homophobic comment because of my profile picture, (because it's happened twice) just don't. I won't care.
One day you'll grow up and realize that funny flags and identities aren't a replacement for a personality.
@@interweb_loser You can be gay without being an obnoxious dork about it. If I can do it, you can too.
I'm waiting for the day somebody recognizes one of these nuggets as their own
I remember having that Sansa with the blue scroll wheel as a kid and honestly that recording kinda sounds like a middle school me. I wish he had shown what music was on it then I might know for sure.
I'm pretty sure the Sansa was mine and I'm the random stranger in that recording... crazy.
I bought it to listen to the radio on the train, but the radio signal strength was so poor it was useless. There was a 'feature' in the radio where if there was static it would reduce the volume. However this had the affect of the radio being almost silent due to the poor signal on the train.
So anyway.. I returned it a week later and got a refund. This was at the Retravision(?) up the escalators in the Queen St Mall in Brisbane.
Yay, dunkpods!
Also, at 14:26: you might be doing this for the fun of the video, but if not: don't plug power-hungry devices into the keyboard; their USB ports cannot deliver as much power as those of the iMac itself.
Can you explain what this means? I was really interested in this part, and wanted to know if it was actually really dodgy-
3:42 the NAND is depleted and no longer will accept write cycles, the system mistakenly says is full, when is actually read-only, if its not the case those are officially suported by RockBox
Hey, the longer the dip, the better!
The longer the d the better
how did you get here before me, I was here about 30 seconds after the video uploaded
yuppp!!!!!!!!!
come to my comment instead
True
We need a 1 hour nugget dip marathon

I had an iPod Nano and I had movies on it, and I distinctly remember huddling with my cousin watching Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny on that utterly tiny screen sharing a headphone each.
13:07 absolutely confused
Banger audio
4:27 I’m astonished that you made that long name sound catchy and memorable 😂
It's nice to see who those 2 dogs are for RCA, they still have them as models for (I think all of their devices) my tablet and DVD player has them. Kinda cool actually to see they have kept the same two dogs
The longer this goes on, the less I feel it's "lucky". Just nuggets suffering
I had one of the Sansa with the blue wheel and I can tell this nugget did one thing really well. shredding through music for hours
Honestly, I would kill for a 1hour special.
Same.
10:06
I'm unreasonably intrigued at the way he grabbed the nugget
So smooth
11:17 Ancors Aweigh in a DankPods video always pleasantly surprises me
4:40 Holy shit I had this exact RCA model in high school. It was my favorite thing to bump UA-cam ripped dupstep in 2011. That's a nostalgia trip I didn't expect but made my day.
It’s always great to see when he pulls out some obscure nugget and just says “I actually have one of these new” 10:12
4:15 I had an off-brand version of that. Pretty sure you press and hold the play/pause button to turn on
1:17 is the reason one senator called for the standardization of all rechargeable devices to USB mini/micro (Apple was still using 30pin at the time).
I just watched this after 2 years of no dank pods. There is something so nostalgic about an aussie man screaming "IM ARMING THE NUGGET"
9:09 Whoever owned that nug had feat. fetish
11:40 That was the same kind I had as a kid! So glad to see my childhood nugget in the grabbag!
Same! I loved that thing, still have it! Still turns on and everything, just the headphone jack has gone wonky lol
Same!!!!!!
I have mine in a drawer in my parents' place. The internal memory started corrupting so I swapped to using my not-smart touchscreen phone for my music instead.
7:50 my sister had that nugget back in the day and that thing literally weighs less than a penny, it's absurd to pick it up
16:02 OH MY CRA-YOLA
1:38 I guess you can say it was taking a Napster
Lol
Underrated comment. :) That Smashnug was taking a Napster.
Yeah nah mate 4:05 makes sense. Gold-MP3-2048MEM-01. Gold, MP3 player, 2048MB of memory, revision 01.
1:33 the Napster's taking a nap
I had one of those Sansas with the spinning wheel when I was a kid! I was always pretty happy with it. Glad to see it in a video
There's something so honest and wholesome about your editing that makes me appreciate you even more than I already do!
6:40 apparently j cole is a time traveler
6:07 They Modern RCA Products have them dogs plastered on their OSes
You have no idea how badly I needed your video tonight. Many thanks, and keep doing what you do, mate!
Okay, in fairness, "Look at this!" followed immediately by five solid seconds of black screen is pretty funny
NGL, I was expecting for the RCA nugget to fly off at 5:16 🤭
I like to imagine that the nugget lucky dip is just a orphanage of nugs that disappointed their parents
I've got two of those e200 series, and I also put Rockbox on one of them. Still runs great but the clickwheel is getting pretty loose.
I had a clip+, really a fantastic little nugget, until the battery wires worked themselves loose. I still have it but it's not worth soldering.
It's crazy how many unique ways there are to make a nug look more disgusting than the last. Cheers early 2000's.
You gotta say! "The longer the dip, the more to grit"
