oh man, i had that exact model of zen creative, but in blue, back in the day. sad this one had died, it's a pretty solid piece of hardware. no unnecessary frills, just a nice lcd to show you what you're playing, a good enough sound driver for the mp3 quality of the day, and enough storage space to put an album on. i remember loading it up to prepare for the day and just jamming out. good memories.
My first music player was a white Creative MuVo V100 and it looked just like that Zen, except it was sort of a two-part thing where you pulled the part with the screen out of the rest of the player and it had a USB end on it that you'd plug right into the PC. No folder structure at all as far as I remember, it just played every song that was on it either in order or on shuffle lol. Fun to see something similar pop up here, I love the nugget dips.
Preferable to Apples solution, which becomes even more of a pain in the a** to use as they get 'old', not that Apple wants any of their older devices to be used.

On an unrelated note, I just pulled my original GBA out of its box, and apparently it still had batteries in it. Batteries which, mind you, had a "use before" date of January 2007, so they've probably been in that thing since 2005. AND THEY STILL WORKED. They just don't make tech like they used to.
