I have an interstate Marine/RV battery. SRM-27, 600CCA 750MCA 160 RC I used it yesterday for about 4 hours on and off. It was on momentary not continuous. I still had plenty of juice left when I finished. I have an onboard minn kota battery charger MK106D 12 Volt that I use. If the battery is depleted it takes about 12 hours of charging. The charger indicates when It's fully charged. Yellow light indicates it needs to be charged. Blinking green is charging. Solid green it fully charged.
Hey great video on the install! I just purchased a used one and its missing the mounting strap. Do you know how long that strap is? Im trying to source it aftermarket.
I measured the velcro strap and it's 22.5 inches. I would think if you find something and inch or two close to that it would still work because the velcro covers maybe like the last quarter of the strap and/or depending what you find for an aftermarket, etc. There is also a buckle on the end that the strap loops through and over but you may be able to just velcro it. I would think it would hold. Hope this helps.
Good luck to anyone who buys this motor. Mine arrived with a defective mount that will not stow flat with the motor installed, and I am currently struggling to get Minn Kota to replace it.
What did you use for the plat on the bow of the boat? I have a similar boat and trying to plan for a build to have a plate at the bow so I can install a bow trolling motor. The trans one trolling motor is tough to fish with lol
I custom built a base for my bow mount motor. It's made from ply wood with a frame underneath. I just put washers under the base of the motor and screwed right through and secured the motor with the bolt, washer and nut. I've used it like that for several years and haven't had any problems. I have a video on my boat project if you want to check it out. The building of the bow base in the video starts at 6:41. ua-cam.com/video/TygSkIXB9a4/v-deo.html
What a piece of crap. I'm in the middle of replacing an 88 Johnson trolling motor that was original on my boat. It fit flush to the bow and pulled up smoothly. Minn kota hangs over and bangs your boat all over when raising and lowering? I was wondering wtf when trying to install and came to this how to vid of this pos.
nice boat guy, thanks and good fishing
Nice video, Minn Kota sells a socket for that onboard charger that makes it look real nice and all you have to do is plug an extension cord into it.
Nice! I'll check it out. Thanks!
Great video. Thanks! Just bought one today.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video! You'll like your new motor.
Great video. Very informative. Thank you.

I have the same one on my bass boat. Do you know if it’s possible to add the i pilot upgrade or no?
No, I'm not sure if you can.
Hey is your Bowe mount just a sheet of ply wood screwed in ?
Yes, it is.
Can you take the motor off of the mount?
Yes it does. There's a latch that you can unscrew an the whole motor and shaft lift off the mount.

Did you pull the chord?
Send it back for another, God don’t bad mouth the company before you even give them a chance to make it right!
I did contact them, and got a run-around.
