    Thanks for the series of videos and info. This has been great for me being a total novice at doing a boat up and I am looking at the Warrior 165 as a potential boat. I have always looked at getting a newer boat but you have opened up the potential to me of a good condition older boat. Looking forward to you getting out on the boat and seeing what you think of its ability, as all I have seen is these boat flying in clam seas but I am more interested on how it performs in choppy seas. Absolute brill and many thanks again and good luck with the rest of the project. Cheers Bob

    Thanks for the video, i can see you put a lot of thought into your system.
    I hope it's ok to make a suggestion, give the cig lighter socket, volt meter and usb port individual positive and negative back to fuse box. Cig socket can supply 10a plus whatever the usb adaptor is, all those joins along the negative run will give you voltage drop and a chance of failure along the way. You might find that the meter reading drops when those sockets are used as the circuit is shared

    Great vid. One question. Is the battery isolator switch necessary when you have the breaker? Does manually popping the breaker act as a cut-off as well?

    • @AirbornePirates
      @AirbornePirates  Рік тому

      Hi Jake probably not necessary but I prefer that as it’s easier to access on my boat.

    I now have a Warrior 170 and wanted to add a voltmeter to both the batteries.
    Do you think I can just wire them directly to each battery using 12AWG wire and a 5amp in-line fuse or is there a better / safer way to wire these ? Appreciate any help as I do not want to cause a fire. Cheers.

    • @AirbornePirates
      @AirbornePirates  2 роки тому +1

      For a volt meter I wouldn’t put a fuse but if you wanted then a small 3A inline fuse on 12AWG. Warrior 170 are very nice indeed

      @@AirbornePirates Many thanks for your reply. I have just been looking at the voltmeter and it has come with wire which looks like 16 awg size.
      Is this done to a cost and would be better replaced with 12 awg wire or do you think I can use 16 awg wire over a 1.5 m distance (I can not see how many amp's these draw) ?

    Great great video! Thank you so much. I'm getting ready to rewire my center console boat for the first time. I feel very comfortable with electrical The only question I have is on my old control panel there is breaker switches do I have to put those back in or can I just run them to the fuse block and write to hey toggle switch? Thank you again amazing video keep up the good work!

      Hi Rick, is the breaker between your panel and the batter or switch? Thanks dude

    • @aliasdesignz
      @aliasdesignz 2 роки тому

      @@AirbornePirates The breaker is between the switch and the fuses. I don't know why I thought the fuse is would have been sufficient. Don't know why they did it this way I'd like to do it without them to make it look cleaner. What do you think?

    i've been a marine electrician for 25 years, there's a reason why marine wiring was standardized all those years ago. All your wires are the same color. Somebody down the road is going to be so pissed off

      @@AirbornePirates yeah, that'll work out really nice for a few years and then all the labels fall off or the ink bleaches out and even then, what could possibly be written on the wire that would help somebody? . then a 2 minute repair can easily escalate to all afternoon and then some poor guy makes nothing that day. We call owner repairs like that 'day waisters' Obviously, we refuse to work on those and then the name, hull number, vin number and boat description goes on our database so that none of our shops or venders get stuck working on it. Absolute nightmare, you don't understand
