The thing about Fallout 4 is that there's absolutely no need at all to level up fast unless you want to become the poster. Once you get your hands on a weapon that has an overpowered legendary effect like wounding or explosive, it's pretty much game over. At that point, you hardly need a build.

Thank you for the leveling tips. I never thought of trying the Idiot Savant perk. Always just boosted intelligence to max. I'll try that on my next playthrough.
Just to add to the save scum quest hand in method: you can quicksave in the middle of a dialogue with a NPC, you don't need to start the whole thing all over if you don't get the proc, just quicksave (default F5) just before the dialogue line that finishes the quest (I press F5 every line of dialogue until I get there).
I wear a Lab coat and Ushanka hat (some vendors sell) and have 1 hour sleep and eat squirrel stew then I do my crafting. At the start I make wooden shelves that I scrap and use again, plus caltrops then poisoned caltrops that keep me in good money through the game. I leave Sanctuary between level 8-11 if I can be bothered to scrap all the trees, this play through I got aqua girl and swam to spectacle island and scrapped all those trees over there, when I was strong enough to take on a mirelurk queen, plus get the Luck bobblehead while I was there. Oh and for 1 Intelligence 'Road Goggles' if you have Ada there is a female body wearing them near her, or they are in a display case in Far Harbour Vault when the do the detective quest, my character wears them all the time while adventuring.

My goal is to at least reach level 170 because there are some good perks that I want to acquire and make my character strong and powerful for the main story and the DLC quests. My method is this. My intelligence is at 10, but I wear some armor and clothes that increase my intelligence by one point per item. I have Codsworth as my companion because I receive more XP when completing quests with him, I have level 2 of the Night Person perk and I have the int bobblehead. And finally. I do the BoS infinite quests, Quartermastery and Cleansing the Commonwealth in order to earn XPs and rank up. With all this the maximum XPs that I earn are usually 317 (sometimes more with the Well Rested bonus). In your video, I found two ways that will help me level up fast. I use the resource scrap glitch to obtain a lot of copper, then build baseball statues. It’s extremely quick, plus any copper left is greatly needed in settlement building
Pretty sure the fastest way to xp is the building glitch at the very beginning of the game when you come out of the vault. Dismantle everything around youll get like 1-2k wood and metal.. go to the bench and craft wooden and metal shelves. When you run out if materials just dismantle it all abd all it is is spamming A and x lol. You can even craft on top of other shelves. The shelves i believe give you back all resorces. Or it did when i did it i believe in sanctuary at the beginning. Think it was a glitch/bug dunno. But it requires no moving what so ever
Fastest way to level up is glitch materials at the beginning and building wood or metal wall shelves on top of each other. Eventually, manufacture all the weapons and buildings you need and head to Saugus Ironworks in order to get the manual you need to build copper statues.

Focusing on min-maxing and cheesing XP like this is definitely the quickest way to get bored of a Bethesda title. If any new players are reading this, I encourage you to play the game as naturally as possible for your first playthrough. Allow yourself to be immersed and don't focus on having the best/most of everything. There is a TON of content in this game and you'll get so much loot and XP that you really don't need to go out of your way to level up quicker. It's going to be an incredibly long time before we see a new Fallout game so take your time and enjoy the ride.
@@SavageSayo79 Nothing compares to experiencing the first 30 levels of this game completely blind. Save the scumming and guides for when you get stuck or for a second playthrough using all that you've learned from the first one. Or cheese your way through the game with XP guides and turn 150 hours of content into 30 when you inevitably get bored. You certainly can do both and enjoy the game. I'm simply making a suggestion to new players based on my 1000 hours on the game. Also, this game is notoriously easy past level 20, even on Very Hard difficulty. Just because YOU needed guides, doesn't mean they are "definitely" needed. I personally just think it's much more satisfying figuring things out yourself without the crutches of other player's knowledge. You're only robbing yourself of an experience by doing that but that's just my opinion.
This is sort of true. After playing 9 years I was trying every combo. So I start at 9 Int then it goes to 10 with the Bobblehead. You get it to the teens with wearables and consumables. Putting a level into Int to get it to 10 is a waste. You get xp. for crafting not just combat. If you craft more than combat 3rd rank in Idiot Savant will actually work against you. Make sure to temp boost before turning in missions. Survival mode is the best. The enemy are not bullet sponges like in other modes. Settlements and save scumming are your friend. Build one settlement as a raider/gunner trap.
I tried survival mode and was having success at it but not being able to fast travel killed it for me, so boring running around. I wish they would've made it you can fast travel between any supply line linked settlements you have.
Best way is idiot savant lol 2 and then do learning curve and snipe the scribe from the ship above Boston Airport then run back to proctor quinine and boom
Best way to level: gunner farming. I threw in a few deathclaws just for the hell of it. Stack chems (crafted for more XP) and trigger idiot savant. It's a garanteed 3 or 4 levels every run.
Xp mining... spam build statues (copper)... scrap... example: spam build statues all the way down the straight part of the road in sanctuary... average jump of 2-5 levels.... scrap statues... repeat
I did the paladin Danse quest with level 2 idiot savant and had popped a mentats n got like 1300 xp after savant triggered 😃👍 I was gassed haha. That’s with level 6 intelligence as well 🤷♂️ not complaining 🥊💯
high intelligence build with powerarmor is the easiest start of the game, because fusion cores last much longer and its very easy to repair power armor.
I'm about to start a new modded playthrough on my PC and I'm going to try this out. One thing is I notice there was 12 to 13 point left to place for your skills. I wonder if putting 10 of them in Strength and then the other two or three in Perception or Endurance wold have an effect on how you will obtain XP going forward?
Dude; at 1 INT you get I believe either 19 at base for discovering Sanctuary, or 21... at 10 INT = you get 26-27 tops. Whoopedy Do Da. Doing Preston's very first quest when he's shooting the raiders gets you around 300 XP without Idiot... doing it with Idiot gets you near to, or over 1 k XP. (Doing it with both 10 INT & Idiot IS actually the best option: But it WILL require a shit ton of reloads on every quest you do - and you have to quick save BEFORE the XP is granted, while the last piece of dialogue has JUST begun if you want to not be bored to death trying) * Also, Idiot SHOULD NEVER have been a "chance of" perk. It should've just been a flat bonus that was BETTER than 30% of sweet fuck all XP on most actions to start with. * ALSO, also... 10% in an RNGesus hates me style game is STILL a 90+ % chance that the computer will fuck you over and the perk is effectively worthless. ** There are also 3 BEST uses of the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Book: 1) Strength on a melee/unarmed build - Use Day tripper at 10 base strength, take the book. Rest. You're now at 11 base strength and the strength bobble puts you at 12 base. * It may take some time to boost your Int to 12: No. It doesn't. Not at all. There's literally a Beer sitting on the table free to take in sanctuary in one of the backyard areas. It's NOT hard to find. You can get 11 Int within five minutes of finding Sanctuary... The Boston public library is like 2 seconds from Diamond City. Getting THROUGH the library is what you have to be prepared for... but if you've played any fallout games before, it's not that hard. 2) Intelligence - Take beer (easy to find in sanctuary anyway) at 10 intelligence. Take the book. Rest. You now have 11 base Intelligence, go to the boston library during Daisy's quest and enter the back room either by picking the lock or with the key. Get the bobblehead; you now have 12 base Intelligence. Sharp Hat and Vault Tec Labcoat will make it 15. I never go with the institute, so I've never gotten Liam's glasses. But they give you int as well for I believe at least 16 int. 3) Charisma. Get Daddy-O from a chem merchant or general store vendor. Go back to sanctuary, take the drug. Take the book. You now have 11 base Charisma. To get the charisma bobblehead, I believe it's part of the Cabout House questline. Complete that (Free Lorenzo - don't help Jack; the gun is NOT worth more to you than the serum is) Take the bobble during the quest = you now have a base of 12 Charisma. Wear the newsboy cap, formal hat or the trilby (I prefer the newsboy) if you can't find the Militia hat. Wear any number of Charisma based clothes (I prefer the clean black suit or the checkered slacks - DO NOT use the Summer Shorts as they fuck with the character's skin tone) and the Black Rimmed Glasses. combined they add 4 Charisma = This takes you to 16 & means you can SKIP finding the damned magazines because you will always get the base price on everything, and sell for the maximum amount.
Bethesda never untied the physics from the fps in fo4. They did with f76 because online game issues. But yeah no love for fo4 in that regard. So yeah any fps higher than 60 can result in weird stuff. Only way to stop it is to cap your fps in your graphics card control panel. I compromise with 75 fps so It's a lil smoother than 60 but not making things go too out of wack

If I understand your question correctly you need to gather a bunch of items, (ideally weapons clothes don't work) you don't want that you have saved up from looting raiders and other enemies like pipe pistols, basic laser rifles, etc., drop them on the ground from your inventory, go into the workshop mode and scrap the weapons/items. It reduces your settlement meter so you can build more
Does anyone know if I have to reinstall my addons for the updated version? I already have the original version of Fallout 4 installed and it shows “9 items” (or 7. I forget now) installed, but when I look at the New PS5 version, it only shows “1 item”. I haven’t been able to play yet, but I noticed that after installing the new version. @@jasonhiku7195 thanks. I’ve got them. I wasn’t sure till I got home that day and was hoping someone could give me an answer before I was blindsided. My mods didn’t fair so well unfortunately.
Garbage update tbh. 4 Creation Club itens, some bugfixes, shitty ultrawide support, and to add insult to injury the Steam Deck verification removed the launcher of the game, so to change graphic configs you have to add a initialization line before booting the game to re-add the launcher. They didnt even fix the physics being tied to the fps. Pathetic, the 76 devs got it fixed almost 6 years ago.
Another YTer made a video explaining why you can have int and luck @ 10 and it won't effect how often idiot savant activates. Search it up I won't explain.
The sound from an idiot savant proc will quickly make you want to quit the game. Plus getting intelligence to 15 can be managed with 10 to start, lab coat, int hat, glasses, and int bobble head from Boston public library plus having access to all the internet perks make it MUCH better

Shelves stack on top of each other so you don't have to move around, and they are easier to scrap. They don't have too much exp though.
Don't forget 6 Perception and Night Person. It can give you 9% extra XP
Craft caltrops and then you can sell them.
Not all heros waer capes, some wear pipboys.
🫡
With headphones on the idiot savant jumpscares me all the time lol
The dialog glitch you need to be careful on since it could lock you out of using other commands like pulling out your weapon and using your pip-boy.
Great guide!
Thank you!
Best way to level: gunner farming. I threw in a few deathclaws just for the hell of it. Stack chems (crafted for more XP) and trigger idiot savant. It's a garanteed 3 or 4 levels every run.
Did anyone see the nuka-cola quantum in the background of the intro
(Doing it with both 10 INT & Idiot IS actually the best option: But it WILL require a shit ton of reloads on every quest you do - and you have to quick save BEFORE the XP is granted, while the last piece of dialogue has JUST begun if you want to not be bored to death trying)
* Also, Idiot SHOULD NEVER have been a "chance of" perk.
Book:
1) Strength on a melee/unarmed build - Use Day tripper at 10 base strength, take the book.
Lone is the best
Is anyone else having an issue where the talking animation is moving faster than the actual speech? I'm on PC.
@@pinkiefluff735 Thanks!
I know this is an FO4 video but I was hoping you'd cover the 76 PTS update Skyline Valley, while its on the server.
But make sure to do so in June when it comes out thanks love bye
I've played a bit but I was thinking I should wait until the questline is added. What do you reckon?
@@LoneVaultWanderer the Skyline Valley update is probably the biggest update since Wastelanders.
A lot of others have covered this Part 1 on the PTS which is the region and two events. You would be a little late to that now. Part 2 with the questlines comes in May, definitely cover that when its avaliable, and a refresher when it goes live in June of course.
Love the vids man keep fighting the good figbt
You want to use dirty water because it gives the soup more flavor.
caltrops just need 2 steel. craft in the chem station.
Im lvl 41 just now getting idiot savant
Can anyone else not download some mods on Xbox? I try to download them and it kicks me out of the mod section and says “this operation couldn’t be completed.”
Its disabled cuz of next gen update
@@dead_man_sleez But it isn’t. A lot of mods can be downloaded, I’ve only had 4 with this issue but there’s still more out there. A few with this problem had to get reuploaded to fix it. Bethesda still hasn’t said a word about it.
Some may not be compatible with the new update
I got the update and the game is still crashing in downtown Boston smh
Just build and play around with your settlements. Ive spent hours settlement building and was at a high level in no time
Did they fix the 0 GB save bug on their paid mods?
It's in the bug fix notes, so theoretically yes
Try to start with 4 Luck not 5.
For right after you get to sanctuary you become level 2 in survival mode.Go directly to your old house and get that S.P.E.C.I.A.L book, give it to luck, then get the idiot savant. 2:55
I must get rank 3 of idiot Savon
What shot gun you use to kill the super mutant
I’m level 47 and have beaten the game and my luck is 2 meaning I can’t get idiot savant
My intelligence is also 9
How do i level up faster
Step 1- underpants
Step 2-
Step 3- profit
Do mods like "Freefall" and "Unofficial Patch" fix the idiot savant rank 3 bug?
Does anyone know if Squirrell Stew stack with Well Rested?
4 years waiting 🎉 how do you reduce settlement meter without mods I'm scrapping everything?
If I understand your question correctly you need to gather a bunch of items, (ideally weapons clothes don't work) you don't want that you have saved up from looting raiders and other enemies like pipe pistols, basic laser rifles, etc., drop them on the ground from your inventory, go into the workshop mode and scrap the weapons/items. It reduces your settlement meter so you can build more
@@streetside2833 Fat man work great for it. But don't scrap it. Store it so you can grab it from for settlements inventory and rinse and repeat
@@streetside2833 ooh thanks 💯
U dont have to start a New character to experience all the New content?
Nah you're good
Lone, does having a high luck stat boost the chance of idiot savant procing?
Unfortunately not

I don't understand the thumbnail
What do you mean?

Does anyone know if I have to reinstall my addons for the updated version? I already have the original version of Fallout 4 installed and it shows “9 items” (or 7. I forget now) installed, but when I look at the New PS5 version, it only shows “1 item”. I haven’t been able to play yet, but I noticed that after installing the new version. So do I need to go into the game and install them from there? Or should they carry over?
You might just have to enable them in the installed menu...pause while in game and you should see installed in the menu
@@jasonhiku7195 thanks. I’ve got them. I wasn’t sure till I got home that day and was hoping someone could give me an answer before I was blindsided. My mods didn’t fair so well unfortunately.
Funny that bethesda focus is promoting fallout 76.
They want to sell so bad that microtransactions 😂
Garbage update tbh. 4 Creation Club itens, some bugfixes, shitty ultrawide support, and to add insult to injury the Steam Deck verification removed the launcher of the game, so to change graphic configs you have to add a initialization line before booting the game to re-add the launcher.
They didnt even fix the physics being tied to the fps. Pathetic, the 76 devs got it fixed almost 6 years ago.
Lone need thumbnails, lol
What you mean?
Another YTer made a video explaining why you can have int and luck @ 10 and it won't effect how often idiot savant activates. Search it up I won't explain.
cool thumbnail British cigarette
The sound from an idiot savant proc will quickly make you want to quit the game. Plus getting intelligence to 15 can be managed with 10 to start, lab coat, int hat, glasses, and int bobble head from Boston public library plus having access to all the internet perks make it MUCH better
I totally agree, can't stand it. This is why I am using "Beginner's Luck" mod, which completely replaces perk's sound and description.
I can’t stand that perk the sound gets annoying quickly, not worth my sanity I’ll stick to maxing my intelligence
lmao aren't you the co-host of the whittaker podcast? 😀
Haha yes
@@LoneVaultWanderer i didnt know you had an individual channel, best of luck 👋👏👏
I'm sorry, but does this glitch work on PC?
10 int with Idiot Savant is ok bro...
I keep falling into the trap of scraping everything I can find in sanctuary as soon as I start just so the place looks neater…no idea if it helps but I can’t stand looking at the rubble haha
Will the update be affected by mods whatsoever?
The other way around
Disagree on idiot savant, more a gamble in my opinion unless you constantly reload saves
Take a shot everytime you here idiots savant 🤣🤣👌🏻
What console do you play on? because im on Xbox series X, and everyones game looks better than mine.
PC console
I’m going in blind
Just do the resources dupe glitch and start building stuff it does take a long while to level up but still pretty fast
Hahaha it just works!!
Too bad Bethesda broke a bunch of stuff or just didn't fix long reported issues. Common Bethesda L.
This is a really dumb topic.. if making caps is the objective you can create them with console comands
OK so got the update & when I left the vault I just started getting ep for no apparent reason....it finally stop once I reached level 390! I have maxed out everything already & I've only just got to Preston.Codworth won't interact with me though.Anyone else had these issues?
Wdym ???
@luisquiles9617 What I said.Left the vault & killed rad roaches in the vault, left the vault got to the surface & started to receive XP for no reason & it just went on & on till I was level 390! Like I said I'm maxed out b4 I even got to sanctuary. Codsworth still won't interact with me but sounds like a few folk are having that problem on series X
Can I stack squarel stew?
Just mod the game to get the lvl you want? Crazy.
Why do you people insist on levelling up so quickly, only a UA-camr trying to scratch a living has any excuse to do this but by becoming a UA-camr they have lost sight on why people game, they are not gamer's anymore,it isn't a hobby when it become a job,it stops being about fun when all you are thinking about is paying the bills.
Ignore these kinds of "advice",because if you follow them you'll just end up tarnishing your own experience & become jaded, just enjoy the experience & have fun.
It's their job to sell themselves for the "Likes" & then without thought or pause they'll move on to their next project to once again sell themselves for the "Likes".
