• Keith Richards' TOP 10...
Angie, Can't You Hear Me Knocking, Jumpin' Jack Flash, Wild Horses, Tumbling Dice, Honky Tonk Women, Sympathy For The Devil, Gimme Shelter, Beast Of Burden, Paint It Black, Angry
#therollingstones #rollingstones #keithrichards #mickjagger #brianjones #billwyman #charliewatts #ronniewood
How about ‘Satisfaction’ an iconic guitar riff that everybody recognize, probably the most famous rock song ever!
Gotta agree, my favorite R&R riff of all time. And, from what I've read, Keith came up with it in a dream.
Satisfaction goes beyond its considerable musical merit straight into the root of rock. It made explicit what was on the minds of my contemporaries when it arrived. Why is it, in the dawn of this age of women’s reproductive freedom, that I still can’t get laid? Sex was fraught, frankly dangerous, just before that moment and that idea continued to shape attitudes long after.
If you love great songs, if you know music and life has a meaning to you ,then you will agree the rolling stones is the best rock group ever to inhabit this planet earth. You should talk about the best 50 songs because whatever they release turns gold.
Gimme Shelter
Satisfaction?
Everything they release turns gold? I gotta dispute that. They made 6 or 7 terrible studio albums. I don’t agree that they’re the best rock group of all time either. that belongs to The Beatles
Now, with that being said, The Rolling Stones are a highly influential GREAT band. They’ve made significant contributions to the world. I like them and I admire them.
You can’t always get what you want has to be there. Agree Gimme Shelter is #1 ❤
Their live shows are unmatched.
The Netherlands
Me born in 1946. I would still not be able to mention which is the best Rolling Stones record. Just for 1 reason: they are all.....the best!!!!. Not any band could bring out more and better songs over a lifetime!!. Simply the best.
yes indeed thats why theyre the greatest
Born in 1950, I lived through this incredible period in history...and this video captured so much of what has stood the tests of time. A great video!
Thanks...Well said! Glad you enjoyed it!
1951 here.
❤🎉😂❤😊😅😊
Many thanks to the team that
Put this together. Well Done.👍
I wish they would play more of their songs on the radio
With out a doubt one of the greatest musicians ever, transcending brilliantly through generational changes like no other, the narrator said it best when he mentions you instantly know its the Stones and what song 2 seconds in!! Long live the Kings!!
Brown Sugar (Even better now)
So many incredibly crafted songs.
Mercy, mercy
The last time
And many many many many more ❤
Sheer sheer sheer genius.
The Rolling Stones have written so many songs about beauty, youth, emotions, love addictions, gospel, ambitions ,high tech low tech. They sure know what they're talking about & better still they sure do have the finger on the pulse especially on how the world turns us around. I have been here for many decades & I Love the Rolling Stone's. God Bless you guys you truly are amazing. Thank you. 😊🌎👍👏💯💞✌️
Love that countdown. Need a top 20. They have so many. Start me Up, satisfaction,.. They are all great
The Rolling stones have no best 10 songs. All their songs are best among themselves. Fantastic rock n roll wiz...soft, hard, country, blues, Cubano, reggae, black and blue, jazz, ballards, you name it...all genres except Afro rhumba or afro Cuban. However they are the greatest in all ramifications. Most of all the longest running and consistent band of all times. Long live the Stones. God bless them for releasing the music locked up in their veins and brains.❤❤❤
I agree. You could have 10 people list their 10 best and probably have 10 different lists....
NO WORDS....STONES ARE STONES!!!❤❤❤
The Rolling stones very best band all the band members very best very best video about the band information
Tive o grande prazer de os ver quatro vezes em Portugal. Obrigado
Absolutely no way could I choose my favourites. It changes from hour to hour. Has done all my 70 years. We are all different & have our personal preferences.
Ah, a fan since 1953?
Since their formation in 1963👍
Agreed! And I'm 90! Been with them from the beginning...
This is the best live version of this song I've seen. Although the Stones have been playing arenas for decades they are at their best in a small venues like this IMO. I love Ron Wood but...damn Mick Taylor is fantastic, he was probably 20 years old at the time. Keith Richards of course is an alien.
If the subject is constricted to Rock and Roll, these lads are the h e 82nd Airborne.
Many great song for sure ! I find myself listening to Gimme Shelter over and over and am always awed by it.
The best. It should be the anthem of Viet Nam
After all these years, no matter how busy I am, if Gimme Shelter starts playing on the radio, I always stop and listen from beginning to end. One of the few songs that I have never gotten at least a little bit tired of.
Gimme Shelter & Sympathy fo the Devil the greatest of all time (((The Rolling Stones)))
The Stones are an incredulous pack of wolves in rock and roll…Rock on
At the age of 14 I started to like foreign music and the Beatles became my favorite. The whole wall of my room was covered with beatles posters. But then a friend introduced me to The Rolling Stones tapes. From then on, I changed my direction. My room was filled with posters of The Stones, I left the beatles behind. Now I'm 53 years old from Indonesia, no longer actively enjoying music but the memories of The Stones remain. Now it's time to think about eternal life in the hereafter by doing good.
My Favorite songs, I agree with the list and I add some: Moonlight Mile, Sweet Virginia, Little Queenie, many more
Thank you for watching!
Sounds like your room went through a rock 'n roll makeover! The Stones vs. The Beatles - the ultimate music room debate! Keep It Rolling! 🙌💪😀
Warm greetings from Bandung - Indonesia. 😉🎶✨💕
Me too.....i wanted raw rock!!!
"You Can't Always Get What You Want" should be in any top 10 Stones songs in my humble opinion anyways.
You can't always get what you want. See? Merry Christmas from Thailand. I hope you spend the day in the company of people who appreciate you.

Good choice. Gimme Shelter fantastic. There are so many fantastic söngs from the greatest rock'n roll band of all time.
of course !!
MIDNIGHT RAMBLER, & CAN U HEAR ME KNOCKING !! LOVBE & LET IT BLEED !!
Very well done and thought provoking. Certainly the Stones are no. 1.

RIP Charley. You made PAINT IT BLACK better than it already was.
Gimme Shelter has been my favorite since I first heard it decades ago. I believe every song on the list deserves to be there, but when I think about satisfaction not being there I wish the list goes to 11.
I was thinking the same. Not that I think it is the best just it had to be on the list. So do a spinal tap and turn it up to eleven 😅
Geez, the remaining wankers known as the Glimmer Twins are still raking in tons of pounds sterling even though they have been nothing more than parodies of themselves for decades. P.T. Barnum was right, "There's a sucker born every minute". The group. once billed as the anti-establishment long hairs that no self-respecting parent would let their daughter marry, have become filthy rich and it's now Sir Mick. Brian is rolling over in his grave. (How come no Sir Keef, the British East india Company began the opium trade.)
При всём уважении к чужому мнению для меня на первом месте остаётся PAINT IT BLACK
Goes to 11. I see what you're doing there.
I'll raise Stonehenge on the stage a foot, and say cheers to " The Tap."
These guys are great musicians and they ROCK!
These are all great classic songs.
Out of time, Time is on my side, As tears go by and Right on Baby...my favourites. Let's be honest, they're all pretty damn good though.
chut, don't speak about Brian Jones and Mick Taylor !!
Just me, but how can you leave out Midnight Rambler? Dark lyrics about the Boston Strangler, driving beat, morphing into a stop-and-start, call/answer deal between Jagger and Keef or Taylor on guitar, that is riveting live. See the version on Get Yer Ya Yas Out, where you can hear a guy yell "G*d Damn!" in the break, then some girl just screaming "Yeeaaaaahhhh!" on the next one. Then a driving deal into the Taylor solo that builds like a freight train into the finish with Jagger's last line "I stick my knife right down yer throat baby....and it hurts!"
I've seen it live multiple times as I've seen The Stones live every tour from Some Girls to around 2005, and it was always a stunner live. The crowd always goes nuts and hangs on every note in that call/answer deal...."well honey, it's not one of those." Whooomp....daa...dooomp...:WAAAAAAAAAA!!!!" Neat to see old ladies and young girls both going nuts too.
Some versions, like The Marquee Club, Jagger does a decent harmonica riff too.
Keith said it was their best collaboration between them. These young folks just don’t get the same enjoyment from real, raw, and uncut material as we do.Stones don’t sugar coat shit!
Miss You!
A list without satisfaction is rare...my favorite is Starstar (Starfucke!) because it sounds so wonderfully like Chuck Berry
Absolutely great. Many thanks ❤
Muy buen resumen....Incredible the surprise for the No. 1, Is one of my favorites. Thanks !!
Gimme Shelter truly was 1969 and without a doubt the best of the Stones.
WOW
Y’all killed it with this GREAT countdown presentation.
Thank You.
Thank you too...Glad you like it!
Amazing and thought provoking. I keep thinking satisfaction.
Should be at the top but even listed. But purely socially and Historically this essay.
Seems to say to me The 60s started with Optimism of I want to hold your hand ended with.
Pragmatic reality of "Give me Shelter".If America owed the 50's,Britain took the 60's .
Yes, its GIMME SHELTER right at the tippy top.
What a great surprise!!!
Heart of Stone and Fool to Cry
Almost Hear You Sigh
That's how strong my love is.
dog123 In another decade Satisfaction was voted Top Rock song of all time. My favorite though is Monkey Man. Let it bleed version.
Mick n keith B❤DY S❤UL
Thank you Rolling Stones. You have kept me happy since I was 14 and I heard jumping Jack flash when walking into our favourite fish and chips shop at our beach. I fell in love immediately with you because of this song. I still love jumping Jack flash and so many many others 🥰Love and thank you to you all. Your music is so beautiful ❤️ ❤️ 🥰💝🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Listening on transistor radio at age 12
1981 $10
In 2 weeks..$350
Just a 43 year break
All of them.
🎶💯🙌🤗
Thank you stones for everything your impression on British culture is immense since the early 60s you gave us hope, inspiration and peace of mind I'm a Beatles fan but i respect what you gave us and what is to come let it out stones keep giving a message
Under my thumb hands down. If that song doesn’t get you tapping your feet, nothing will.
yes but written by Brian Jones and apparently Jones wasn't a Stone !!
Play With Fire
Brian Jones started the band!!! He could play over 20 instruments very well--- It's a shame what happened--
Also dead flowers 😊 well really u could go on and on
But definitely greatest rock and roll band of all time
Danke für die tolle Vorstellung der zehn besten bekanntesten Songs, die ich sehr liebe...👌
da ich ALLE mag, gibt es für mich keinen speziellen Favoriten...es hat mir gefallen...
🎵🎶🎼🎤🎸🎯🔝💯...🌻...
Thanks...Glad you love them! 🎶🎵🎼💯🤗
Pretty much agree. Its great music that will live on for years to come in my mind atleast.
It's not possible to say, it's a matter of mood. But the most special to me who had listen to the Stones from the beginning is Painted Black.
Paint It Black
Really?
Great post.
I like how the part with Keith Richards on the talk show gets technical, but the post doesn't lose the thread of how urgent and creative these were.
I haven't got to no. 1 yet. But it has to be "Satisfaction"I hear there the London drollness and campy mixed feelings the best of their lyrics contain.
That can be true when you, 5 guys with instruments help define and record the times.
And the Recording Angel also writes, " so what can a poor boy do, 'ceot to sing for a rock n roll band?"...
Thank you for your kind words! I'm really glad you enjoyed the part with Keith Richards on the talk show. It's important for me to keep the post engaging while still highlighting the technical aspects. And yes, "Satisfaction" is an absolute gem, filled with London drollness and campy mixed feelings. I hope you enjoy the rest of the countdown!

Well yes. Ever since my neighbor gifted me with Between the Buttons, so about when I was 15 y o I have heard the rocking and writing, rolling, no moss growing Rolling Stones.
I'm now 70 y o. The years run together. But when it comes to what song I've enjoyed most, likely heard most, and after some hopeful deciphering, lyrics I enjoy most it's probably Satisfaction.
Granted: Gimme Shelter, Salt of the Earth, Street Fighting Man and You Can't Always Get... are advanced ballads and stories made into music.
I believe the lyrics got more complex and colorful once the boys heard enough Beatles, Donovan, Beach Boys, Hendrix, Zappa, Dylan and others. Aftermath came seemingly out of nowhere but all this creative furor and friendly competition made for beautiful results.
Thanks for the reply.
So many to consider. In my opinion, Sister Morphine is incredible. Not the greatest hit, but incredible. Midnight Rambler. Monkey Man. Brown Sugar. You Can't Always Get What You Want. Dead Flowers. 5 fantastic albums that ended with Exile, a period of white hot genius. SO much fantastic before that, a lesser amount after. But that period defined my musical bedrock. Live With Me. Loving Cup. Shine a Light. at least 20 more.
Keith was only composing gold in this era
Paint it black, time is on my side, ride on baby, as tears go by, lady Jane, covers like round and round, ...you can add thousands more...
you didn't get it wrong, well done (you can't always get what you want) deserves a mention
ROCK ON SAW THEM 1964 GAUMONT THEARTER UK WHAT A NIGHT NEVER FORGET IT
The last song on "Sticky Fingers", is an incredible 'lane change' from Rock & Roll to "Rock Opera". "Moonlight Mile" is a fantastic collaboration between The Stones and a Symphony Orchestra. Just Remarkable.
The same with Ruby Tuesday--
Sister Morphine
Spider to the Fly
Yes, moonlight mile😊
I could not DISAGREE more with your selection. The FLOWERS album alone beats 8 of your noted 11. I'd bet that the vast majority of Stones fans over 60 would all find their favourites among my top-16-listing [in no particular order]:
Mother's Little Helper,
Paint It Black (with Brian's Intro),
Ruby Tuesday,
Out of Time,
Lady Jane,
Play with Fire,
Sittin' on a Fence,
Backstreet Girl,
Let's Spend the Night together,
Salt Of The Earth,
Jumpin' Jack Flash,
Honky Tonk Women,
Midnight Rambler [Live 1973],
Brown Sugar,
Dead Flowers,
Angel in my heart.
Who decided which Stones songs were the 10 best? Jumping Jack Flash and Can’t You Hear Me Knocking are 2 of my favorites but, there are plenty of others.
I can think of so many better songs from their earlier albums...Can't you hear me knockin for sure. Bitch, Monkey man, etc...Even Parachute Woman and Get Off My Cloud are superior.
@@davidkarr4632 You got that right. 12 by 5 had a lot of great songs.
Yes Gimme Shelter one of my tops so many i do agree with Jumping Jack Flash Wild horses Brown Sugar Happy and all their early r and b work Theyre simply the best..
TY FOR THIS INFO !!
10. Honky Tonk Woman
9. You can’t always get what you want
8. Under my thumb
7. Sympathy for the devil
6. Start me up
5. Brown Sugar

Angie should have made the top 10 for sure, and fool to cry,,!!!
Surely " Start me up " intro riff must be up there .. And its an awesome song !!
I think their finest moment is Time Waits For No One from theit Its Only Rock n Roll album, Mick Taylor absolutely nails it
Yes, ‘Time Waits For No One’ has been my fav Stones track for years, Jumping Jack Flash the runner up.
Just too many to list-- Mick Taylor is in my top 20 favorite guitarists!!!!!!
Fingerprint File
Thank you and agree totally
Nice list, not sure if I'd put "Paint It Black" in the Top Ten and leave out "Satisfaction", "Under My Thumb", and "Street Fighting Man".
Did you mention KUMPPIN JACK )flash .. it's a gas
OPPS JUMPIN JACK FLASH!

Gimme shelter greatest song ever, period.
Best intro ever!
What about Satisfaction???
Some Girls my personal favorite album. Those PortoRican Girls d dying to meet you!
Thanks!
Oh my lord! Sitting here wasting time,
watching UA-cam….all at once……the stones?.! THANK YOU!
Thank you...Glad you like it! 🙏🙌🎶❤️✨💕
One of theirs that resonates with me is Doom and Gloom starring Noomi Rapace in the excellent video.
Next time you should build up "the hundred best Stone's songs".
The two best Stones" songs are 1) Satisfaction; 2) Painted Black, period, end of story.
It is hard to argue with this list! And in particular, that fact that the most overplayed tune of all time, "Satisfaction" is not on the list! I had #1 & #2 switched around but his arguments changed my mind! You watch live performances of Gimme Shelter and the POWER and RAW EMOTION in those performances is incredible, and moving!
i enjoyed your analysis - very thoughtful !
Thank you kindly! Glad you enjoyed it!
Wild Horses
Jumping Jack Flash
Stray Cat Blues
Rocks Off
Can't You Hear Me Knocking
Honky Tonk Women
Gimme Shelter

Satisfaction
They have so many great songs, give me shelter is but one but it is one of my favorites.
Gimme Shelter, Undercover of the Night, Miss You, Monkey Man, Can’t You Hear Me Knocking, Paint it Black, Satisfaction, Sympathy for the Devil, Wild Horses, Under my Thumb
Can you remember “Winter”? Anyone. “Angie” “Can you hear the music”. All from Goats Head Soup. The last Jimmy Miller produced album. Personally enjoyed “it’s only rock & roll”, produced by Mick & Keith, the Glimmer twins. Sad decline when Taylor & Miller left. Some Girls was excellent. Downhill, imo, since then.
Bill Nighy when on desert island discs chose two Stones' songs out of the eight pieces of music that could be chosen. One was Winter. Brilliant song
@@matthewlacey5307. Always have loved Winter. Seems to be kind of obscure in that it seems many fans don’t know it. Also as mentioned above Can You Hear the Music? Another great song. ❤
THE best Band ever ROLLING STONES ‼️💎💎💎💎💎
What about Brown Sugar? For me one of the best songs ever edited by my favorite band. Let me know about this......ciao from Italy 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
gimme shelter is killer as is wild horses and some girls all the top 10 songs really put the stones as the premier rock group and keith as the major guitarist oh the 60's and mid 70's
you can't do a fantastic list like this and not to include the i can't get no satisfaction riff, this is unforgivable...isn't it?
I agree totally. Hey, I'm 74, and if the Stones are mentioned, the first song that comes to mind, is "I can't get no .. satisfaction." .. from its release unil now.
( I crossed paths with Mick when he was in Melbourne shooting the movie, Ned Kelly. He gave me a smile and a wink that millions would have died for. .. 😉
Decades ago, Mick said that he'd rather be dead, than to still be singing Satisfaction at age 45. Later this year, he will turn 80, and he's still singing it.@@kevin-parratt-artist
Gimme Shelter and Just Another Night With You are my favorites.
And Yesterday
just another night is not a stones song
Bah - humbug! There's a reason the Stones end many of their concerts with 'Satisfaction'.
“Give Me Shelter” is as relevant
Today as it was in the late 60’s
and early 70’s .
When will they ever learn?
The answer my friend’s is
blowing in the wind, blowing in
The Wind. ( B. Dillon )
Awesome song !!! 😊😊😊😊😊😊
What about? "satisfaction"
Satisfaction for sure. IMO #1 ….Angie could be bumped from top 10. And what about A Tears Go by ??
As...
1.Gimme Shelter 2.Shine A Light 3.Jumpin' Jack Flash 4.Rough Justice 5.Wild Horses 6.Sympathy For The Devil 7.Like A Rolling Stone (Brixton) 8.Brown Sugar 9.Paint It Black 10.Stray Cat Blues

YES!!
My favorite song is Paint It Black
I agree Gimme Shelter is the greatest Rock and Roll song I have ever heard!
Wot about Brian Jones riff on the last time
Exactly !!!!!
I just put on time waits for no one❤❤❤ and I was just marveling at the beauty of the Rolling Stones at that time with Mick Taylor which you overlooked completely and who was lauded as too good a guitarist to be playing with the Rolling Stones having played with John Mayall and the bluesbreakers a band which all the greatest of the British guitarist had played with rather.❤ I think back to the comments of Rolling Stones fans under the song on UA-cam time waits for no one and you will see comments like the most beautiful song or a beautiful amazing song❤❤❤ so again I reiterate how could you have overlooked this masterpiece which to me is the most beautiful rolling stone song of all time with the greatest musicianship that they ever experienced under the great guidance of Mick Taylor who left the band because he was not given the credit that was due for what he did😢😢 and sadly you are one of those people overlooking the genius and masterful performances of Mick Taylor while with the Rolling Stones😢😢😢
You did a good fucking job with your presentation. I enjoyed this

I would take out Angie (great though it is) put in Satisfaction. It sums up how so many people - young, middle-aged and elderly - feel.
