The Rolling Stones - Start Me Up

- Rolling Stones Live at the Max - Start Me Up.
Subtitles available.
Wembley Stadium, London, 1990
0:00 - Continental Drift
1:10 - Start Me Up
Notes:
- This was Bill Wyman's last tour with the band, who left in 1993;
- Urban Jungle Tour, featuring the North American Steel Wheels Tour stage in favour of the IMAX recording. The Urban Jungle Tour had a different smaller scale stage.
- For those pointing out lip syncing: Live at the Max is the first feature film to use IMAX in its full length-a new and complex technology at the time; that is the reason we have it in 1080p today.
The band only agreed to use it unless it didn't jeopardise the live concerts. The solution they found was to record some clips in emptied stadiums as to fill the gaps of the jinxed strips of film.
This is not in a concert format. Not all clips from the whole film is set in London.
2:05 That’s how I‘ll remember Charlie Watts…
RIP Charlie, you’ll LIVE FOREVER!😢
Thank you for all the legendary years!
Agreed ‼️ 🥁 ‼️
How can anybody put a thumbs down for the Rolling Stones ,,,,, greatest group that ever lived . Without question......
Love the Stones but in that genre imma go with CCR
Gotta agree CCR is the best in that genre
It was a good time when there weren't people filming all the time with their cell phones
Sometimes, we just need some good rock and roll. These guys delivered it.
💯 % for sure yeahhhh ahhhhh start me 🆙 never start 😜 youoooyoyoyouuo 🎸🤘 Big Charlie Watts man never let those drummers 🥁 stop !!!!!! ☮️🎸🆙
Mick should be listed as one of the greatest entertainers in music history
He is in the R&R Hall of Fame
He is….
Really if Hackney diamonds doesn't win every award. It's eligible for then the game is rigged. I mean, if The Rolling Stones aren't the Real Rock&Rollers. There is no such thing as Rock&Roll✌️💜🎶🌈
Mick Jagger IS the greatest entertrainer in music history!!!
Fully agree
Not every day dies a Rolling Stone. Not evey day dies a legend. RIP Charlie Watts.
RIP Charlie, thanks you for the music you were part of, the memories of the many concerts at the Garden, your love for the music, and all. May God meet you with a pair of brushes in hand.
Van halen jump
Sweet. Bye Charlie 🌹
Tanks for alls charlie watts
Donny M, I just read your comment
It was so beautiful
God Bless & stay well .
@@leannadeo6957 Thank you Leanna for the kind and blessed words. Their music was a big part of my childhood in NYC. Great memories. Be well
Rest in peace Charlie Watts. How many generations still dance and sing with this incredible band¡¡
Ehhh, well I think this set the bar so high, the works of this band, it makes so much other musical trash be just that, trash. Now a days, these kids don't get it! They may listen to it but they can not hear it. I really hope that changes. I was truly blessed to be alive to have HEARD the words of these genial artists! 🤗
Yeah , Rock&Roll still alive and will remain
MACACO DA REVOLUÇÃO is pure Classic Vintage Rock of Brazil

@@virginiapeters7796 100%, they were/still are untouchable at this sort of stuff, they were always the band that raised the bar/ set the standard, dont give me coldplay etc these days , no way .
We just saw them yesterday at Hyde Park (25th june 2022), what an amazing performance! There were surprisingly many young people there, I'm sure they'll be dancing and singing in a few generations down the line 👍
Hopefully not the woke liberals
Mick has to be one of the greatest if not the greatest frontman in rock!!
The Rolling Stones will forever be cemented in history. Keep rocking forever.
RIP Charlie Watts, now you are a legend
Will never forget the start in ‘89. I was about 40 yds from the front of the stage.
If you dont love the Rolling Stones , you dont love music!!!
26.07.2023 :
HAPPY 80 , Sir Mick Jagger !
Wish you plenty of Health, Love and Happiness !
THANK YOU for so Many Special Songs you gave us through the last 60 years !
😃👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
(From Brazil)
The energy on that stage is insane, best rock band ever and still going strong
You can't deny The Stones as being the best rock band of all time. Just staying together as long as they have makes them that.
Nope.
I have seen them 4 times just doesn't get old
Beatles?
You see, kids .. THIS … is Rock and Roll.
Dude, don't be THAT condescending asshole
I know it's only Rock and Roll but I like it
Mind Blowing Video!!!!!
Amen babe!
This b r&R
Best rock and roll band ever and best frontman ever- blessed to be seeing them again soon- first time was in the 70's- now I bring my kids to witness first hand what rock and roll really is
Thank´s for ever Charlie Watts, God bless you.
Never be any rockers like the stones, they’re still thrilling audiences like they’ve done for decades, they love to do that and always be there for us
Absolute legends, there is no substitute for them. The rolling stones are the greatest British rock band ever.
What an incredible band.
Pure British rock at its very, very. Best.
J'étais dans le public de ce concert des Stones à Wembley en 1990. C'est inoubliable!
Those opening 3 chords just crashing...unmistakable! I've heard it a million times at every HS, College and NFL game I've been to! Keith playing with the Open G tuning! Such a crowd-pleasing, and fun song to hammer out. It didn't occur to me back then how brilliant the Stones were in the late 70's and early 80's to embrace the punk vibe at the time. It vaulted them clear of the whole British invasion perception. Absolutely in a class by themselves.
We all should start to worry what kind of world will we leave for Keith Richards.
Ronnies solo has brought me to tears countless times and I’m not ashamed to admit that one bit
Saw Rolling Stones at Superdome in New Orleans, what a performance! Jagger will always be forever young!
I Hope when I get to Micks age, I STILL Got the Moves like Jagger.🕺💃🕺💃🕺💃 Thank you Charlie🙏💝 and the Stones. ONE of the LONGEST lasting bands in History. SENIORS👵👴 ROCK!! 🎼🎵🎶🎸🎤🥁😍🤗😚
You just can't beat a good old rock n roll band.thank the Lord for the rolling Stones
This video is incredible! From the rarely seen backstage footage to the outstanding performance, it doesn't get any better than this. Why it doesn't have a million views, I will never understand.
It has 17 million…
Rest In Peace, Charlie Watts, a true legend. There was a reason that his drumming was featured up front in the mix - he was a master at setting the beat to every song by the World's Greatest Rock and Roll Band.
We miss you!! Charlie!! Margo uit Holland!!💐🦜💙💚💚🥁🎶🎵🇱🇺
So beautifully said 👍
Me desculpe mas ;a maior banda em Rock I'ROL É LED ZEPPELIN
Yes, best "Trommler" you can imagine. The most sympathic Stone.
The Greatest most Mind Completely Blowing Hitting The Stage... I have ever witnessed in my entire 50 years on this planet. Omg. I LOVE THE ROLLING STONES!!!!!
Nothing on earth the same as the Stones, live they are a complete buzz
Was so good to see Bill& Charlie, laying down the groove
Respect, the whole organisation behind this unbelievable show as wel as them giving it all....❤❤❤
Thet were and are still the stadium boys. AND, WILL BE TILL ETERNITY. Love from a small village in INDIA.

What huge performance of stage objects…. Huge animals
I've been rolling with the Rolling Stones since 1964, while I was in High School!

Charlie Watts. Surely the most versatile drummer we have ever seen. Blues, Rock, Pop, Jazz. Thank you Charlie. Rest in Peace 🙏🏻
Bullshit
Will never forget the start in ‘89. I was about 40 yds from the front of the stage. The blast stunned my sight; rung my ears; and a moment later, I felt a surge of heat. Not having seen them for 11 years, I’d say I was excited.
The Rolling Stones have been my favourite band for nearly half a century, and Charlie was always my favourite Rolling Stone. Still grieving. RIP Charlie and thanks for all the pleasure you have given me and all your fans.
Just look at the audience. No phones, just completely loving and living the moment. It’s not like that anymore. Mick Jagger, I want to be able to move like him when I’m in my 70’s. What an absolute legend.
Ladies and gentlemen, the greatest band alive today
For me they are the best Band of all time. The modern shit heavy metal have no bass, and using a machine type guitar tuning. They call themeselfs rockers, wearing black outfit, but they look down on these bands. They made the rock and roll. The " only heavy metal rocker" should put so much more respect to Stones. These are my thougs. Im 17 btw.
These guy made your grandparents dance. Father and mother sing and you rebel. Timeless
I’m à french girl so excuse me for my bad english. Some people call you the grandfathers of Rock. I only see a Rock band that turns ours live upside. Thanks you very much the Rolling stones !
Priceless ... Ageless ... Timeless ...
Mick's amazing here, as always. Could whatch him performing for hours. Love his energy.
Now that’s how you kick off a show. RIP Charlie, you have always been an inspiration for not only what you did play, but for what you held back, your rhythm is ever engraved in my life.
That stage was huge Mick was running up it down it .
9 January 2022
This is how I started my day
Listening to The Stones xx
💓🌹💓🌹💓🌹💓🌹💓🌹💓
Charlie Watts....there could only ever be one Stones drummer. Love and respect.
he has to keep the others in order
THANK GOD we get to see Bill Wyman and Charlie! The greatest rhythm section OF ALL TIME! This is one of the very best tours they ever did. Thanks for sharing!😂❤
Too bad the camera men always overlook them.
They were very well rehearsed for this tour yes
Took me so many yrs to first time see Charlie Watts warming up backstage. RIP, legend.
THANK YOU STONES FOR 50 YEARS OF EARTHLY PARADISE
rolling stone o
Tam hill saw the urban jungle concert at Hamden early 90s love the stones gun was first band on bit pissed with Michael Reilly lost my new Pringles top which I threw up when start me up come on and it didn't come back to me xx but I have my memories of Michael Philip Jagger etc xx best band ever
Greatest band ever the rolling stones
You discovered the band in the 90' ?
Start me up ? Can't even 🌟 t my car this fast !!!!
When you have grown up with a group all your life , from the age of 11 , and now in 60’s , it hits you hard when one is suddenly no more ..... it’s very upsetting, but I hope they will still have Charlie as a hologram on stage , with them ...... RIP CHARLIE great guy..... 🌹🌹🌹
Sing & move Mick like nobody is watching
Love the Rolling Stones
Rolling Stones is like an essence of rock and roll! And more!
Those backstage moments are brilliant to see. ( Charlie's little dance routine !)
So much nervous energy & excitement & camaraderie !
Those who always say they 'just do it for the money' miss the entire point I think. Even more so as the years roll by 😄❤️
Exactly. I was texting a friend about the ‘coiled energy’ and electricity.
Probably enough concentrated current to power a small city!.
.
My DAD played the STONES - FIRST ALBUM an awful lot when I was growing up (BORN in 1961) so that listening to those INCREDIBLE TUNES from a very YOUNG AGE I was 100% HOOKED & have been a STONES FAN EVER SINCE , there's NOT EVER BEEN & NEVER WILL BE A BAND THAT COMES EVEN CLOSE TO THE ROLLING STONES , there never will be a ROCK BAND that is STILL FILLING STADIUMS & SELLING OUT TOURS AFTER 60+ YEAR'S IN THE BUSINESS & NEVER WILL BE AGAIN ! ! . I LUV THE STONES MORE WITH EVERY PASSION YEAR ! !
For sure that you're rocking in heaven sir, RIP fine gentleman named Charlie Watts.
Niemals in der Zukunft wird es eine Band geben wie die Rohling Stones geben.
Dieses Niveau schafft keiner
Rip Charlie...We die , but the music lives on.
Worked on the Steel Wheels tour in 1989 and was on the house mix platform in Dallas when they opened with this.
Best moment in my life, still sends chills down the spine
You're a lucky man. That tour is widely considered one of their best.
Did u do the whole US tour? My brother saw em in Cincinnati. He had 2nd row center!
I was given the Steel Wheels leather jacket by the head of Capital Radio in the UK. He said it was Keith's and he didn't want it!
I'll never sell it, but I do wish I got it signed.
Is that Bill Wyman on bass? This must be 1990ish.
@@adamroberts9962yea the urban jungle euro version of steel wheels tour his last tour with them, and I think last song he did with them was highwire and sex drive,2 singles for the flashpoint album
@@keeponrollin7922 Amazing to think he dated/had sex with a 13 year old girl- with the consent of her mother- and no charges were ever filed. They married when she was 16 and he was 49.
Love or money? Mmm...
I’m 72. I was at the Hollywood Bowl (Aftermath ).....1966. The Buffalo Springfield Band was the cover band. Then in SanDiego when BB King and Tina Turners Rhythm Review preceded The Greatest Rock and Roll Band in the History of Mankind. Thank You to All of You for making my Life Great!
Long live The Rolling Stones.
Saw them when I was a girl 50 years ago still like to watch them x
hello. i want to say thank you for your love support like and comment in my life and my entire career.
I do not believe there will ever be entertainers like these again. Queen is a close second.
Queen is not even in the same universe. The greatest blues-rock band ever compared to a sacharine pop band?
sorry must disagree about Queen. Stones are in their own realm- nothing approaches their musical genius and timeless energy ❤
Best live version ever with Charlie and Bill (The Real Stones)
The ROLLING STONES best Band forever 💯💯💯😎💯👅😎
RIP Charlie Watts

Man I'm a black 63 year young musician keyboardist musician. But this right here, is killin' credit where where credit is due. you can feel it. Least I know I can!!! That energy
Hope you’re doing well
Ignore these idiots.
RIP CHARLIE, ONE OF THE GREATEST DRUMMERS EVER!!!!
Hello Lori, How are you doing?
Any ‘would be’ drummers out there should study this man. I done it for 5 years straight. Missing the 4th on the hats is a beautiful technique. When I stated playing I was tuned in to Charlie and have always played that way. It help you create so much when you get behind your kit and when you hear it played back you it’s a beautiful thing. R.I.P to my biggest influence.
Rest in peace Charlie! You'll be immortalised forever as the rocking drummer in heaven
A warm embrace to the lovers of quality music everywhere!
Loved them since I first became interested in music as a young teenager, I'm 67 now & still love them. Wish I had Mick's energy
Did you fantasize on any of them? Tell us
hello. i want to say thank you for your love support like and comment in my life and my entire career.
Stones always on another level of Rock....☝🏻🎤💃✌🏻
@Naomi Now this is what I call the true Rolling Stones without Bill and Charlie there is no Stones after Steel Wheels they all should of hung it up amazing concert I was at that concert in 1989
MICK JAGGER HAS THE MOVES I LOVE THE WAY HE PERFORMED ❤❤❤❤ LOVE YOU GUY'S ❤️❤️🤩😜😜😜😜
Great to see Bill on bass as it should be. RIP Charlie.
Agreed, Bill is superb.
Just needs Mick Taylor up there and it would be perfection !!
My grandsons will watch them live...I am sure....LEGENDS!!!!!!!
Now that's how you open a show!
❤ Mick is absolutely wonderful!!!!!❤
One of the greatest bands that played for us. Mick you are an awesome musician. Just love all of your songs. I have been a fan since the 60's.🎶🎶
I worked this tour in Miami 89 and wow that stage was HUGE I'll never forget that show I was 21. I've been in the music industry 34 years this year till I can't physically do it anymore and then I'll go on doing it anyway!! 🤘😎🥁🔥
Thanks for sharing. Steel Wheels stage is my favourite of all, sadly I couldn't see it in person.
@@MurciellagoSV sameeee I’ve been listening to that one since last week

I'm very pleased to know I'm not the only one that loves😊😄the song but when last did you played it.
Yes I have been a big stones fan since the late 1970's but only seen the band once in concert
This the band alive that has been the longest in business. And they still have a lot to say. Making history.
RIP Charlie. Thanks for the memories and the solid beat. We will always remember.

He rocks the frock like nobody’s business
Man Charlie is playing brilliantly on the backbeat here. RIP Sir! You were such an inspiration to drummers of all genres.
Charlie is phenomenal on this tune when playing live. R.I.P Mr Watts.
I'm always amazed by his simplistic, yet extremely tasteful use of the closed and open hat - really compliments keith well.
Charlie, will forever bee...Charlie Watts! God bless brother!
Check out Jack de Johnette or Tony Williams
Best front man EVER. PERIOD
