From Enslavement to Obliteration is always THE ESSENTIAL grindcore album in my opinion and their magnum opus. They have so many strong albums and they're one of the KINGS of metal.
Great video!!! ND are one of my absolute favorite bands and I go see them every time they come around the Boston area. (I'm in the US) Always a pleasure chatting with Barney when I see them. ND are totally the perfect mix of heavy music and heavy messages to match.
Great video, Napalm Death are one of my favourite bands too. I've only seen them live once in 2001 at a tiny venue in Glasgow it was brilliant haven't stage dived so much at any concert it was wild. My friend bought Scum on vinyl not long after it came out it blew us away, it maybe doesn't hold up these days but at the time it was mind blowing. I agree their latest album is one of their best
I need to see them again at some point. Great live band. I do enjoy Scum but it's not my go to album of theirs by any means. Some of their later albums are their best imo
@@ThatMetalBloke just stumbled upon your channel recently, but I’m really enjoying your content. You bring an honesty and humour to your videos that is really refreshing! Great stuff!
Utopia Banished was my introduction too Napalm Death when it came out.Since you mentioned the influence of Hardcore with Napalm Death,Shane Embury did a group called Blood from the Soul back in the 90s with Lou Koller from Sick of it All,decent album kinda of Industrial thrash/Hardcore
Really enjoyed this one buddy! Totally agree with Throes. An all round superb listen. I had the pleasure of bumping into Shane a few years back - not at a gig - but in a Waitrose. The local shoppers were surprised to see me 'Fan Boy' over a big hairy bloke with pasta and cream cakes in his shopping basket! He was an absolute gent and shook my hand.
Cheers. Throes is an amazing album and it is always great to hear a band's latest album be so fresh and inspired. I can imagine Shane being easy to talk to. They all strike me as regular blokes.
Great vid bro!! Can we have a slayer or machine head album ranking video? They were the bands that got me into metal!!!anyway, love the content bro!! Would love to do a collab!! I’m not a UA-camr but I’m well versed in all things music and metal!!
Sometimes the first album that you hearing from the band is the favorite one and with Napalm Death my №1 is still Inside The Torn Apart! 2) The Code Is Red...3) and from here is complicated))) it is always changing! Also the guitar duet Harris/Pintado (RIP) is my favorite of guitar duets of all time! One of my favorite band and some my favorite songs from them are only as bonus tracks or compilations etc...like Omnipresent Knife in Your Back, Atheist Runt, Oh So Pseudo...agreed with You with the songs Plague Rages and Narcissus! Also in my top songs like Morale, Amorale, Prelude, Infiltrator, The World Keeps Turning!...
Inside the Torn Apart is a great album and I can't understand why so many people dismiss it. I also love Prelude and the World Keeps Turning. So many great songs. Mass Appeal Madness is a great one as well. I could go on and on 😂
@@ThatMetalBloke The list of great songs is very long and I also dont understand why this band is so below the radar of the masses! They also have great lyrics! Throws of Joy...I listened to it so many times when it came out, it was in my top 3 albums, but now it brings bad memories cause of some bad things happend in life...maybe those bad associations will be gone in time! All the best and cheers!)))
Really enjoyed watching this, man! I’m ashamed to say that, despite loving tonnes of grindcore, hardcore, death metal etc., and being a fiend for groovy, sludgy riffs, I’ve never properly delved into ND’s back catalogue outside of SCUM and a few other songs. It’s probably because their work is so extensive, and nothing I’ve heard has yet properly got its hooks into me. Would you ever consider making - or sharing a pre-existing - playlist of your favourite songs from the band to accompany ranking videos like this? Just so dopes like me can get some kind of overview and a possible way into them.
ND has been a favourite since 2006 and I picked up Utopia Banished used. I had From Enslavement in the 80s but nothing else. There's not an album I don't enjoy. I do go back to those first 2 albums the least. They're a lot like ENT- A Holocaust in Your Head, I have to be in a rare mood for it. I love the 90s stuff a lot. Order of the Leech, The Code is Red and the last album are modern ND favorites. I will admit I miss the 2 guitars live, just like Sepultura, they sound fuller with 2 guitars live.
One of My top 10 band of all time and personally they are my favorite politically ‐ angriest / intelligent /timely /influential , with the grooviest ,catchiest and grindiest sections ever put to any music soundscape .time waits for no slave 🤘
I would rank this totally differently but to each his own. Code is Red, Enemy of the Music Biz, Utilitarian and Smear Campaign would be all the S and A categories for me.
I never got into Napalm Death until I heard Enemy of The Music Business. Then I realised what an idiot I had been. I got my name in the Shane Embury book too. 😎
I used to love Napalm Death but tapped out after Diatribes, but I've recently "rediscovered" them. My personal favorite is Utopia Banished - at the time it was so intense and different from anything that I had heard before, and it still holds up well.
I think they lost a lot of people from around that time he never really delved back into them. Great to hear you are getting back into them as they are such a great band.
My list of 10 would be: 1-Harmony Corruption 2-Fear,Emptness Despair 3-Utopia Banished 4-Order Of The Leech 5-F.E.T.O 6-Smear Campaign 7-Time Waits For No Slave 8-Enemy.. 9-Words from.. 10-The Code is red..
No one grinds like Napalm. The punk influence makes their brand of death metal rather unique. And their lyrics show that they actually give a fuck. Absolute legends.
My fave ND albums are the ones that people like the least. The mid 90s shit. also like the 2005-2015 period quite a bit. I don't really like the very early period. I like FED onwards... Probably blasphemy hehe...
Great ranking. Top 12 metal band for me. The beauty of a band like Napalm is that the ranking is hardly the same from one person to the next. S Tier Enemy of the Music Business Time Waits for No Slave The Code Is Red Utilitarian A Tier Apex Predator Smear Campaign Order of the Leech Throes of Joy in the Jaws of Defeatism B Tier Utopia Banished Words from the Exit Wound Inside the Torn Apart C Tier Harmony Corruption Fear Emptiness Despair Diatribes D Tier From Enslavement to Obliteration Scum One of the greatest to ever do it. @ThatMetalBloke First two albums are tough listens for me. A few good riffs here and there, but that production is horrendous. Still, the energy and message were there, so not bad.
Harmony Corruption will always be my favourite Napalm Death album. Ever since I heard Suffer The Children. Great video.
Cheers mate. Napalm are such a great band 🤘

I can't believe I never gave this band a proper try. I'll put them on my list. Cheers dude 🤘
A lot to go through but a lot to enjoy. Great music to run to 🤘

Your ability to remember line-ups from that many years ago amazes me man! 😮 I struggle to remember the order bands played in from last year haha.
I had a lot fo it written down so don't give me too much credit 🤣
Great ranking of a great band. I'm familiar with the early albums and the later albums. Still need to dive into the middle it seems.

@@ThatMetalBloke For sure, I never really gave Time Waits For No Slave a listen, I listened to it this morning and yeah Id say you placed it well.
My Top 3 NAPALM DEATH Albums :
3. Enemy of the Music Business (2000)

1. Fear, Emptiness, Despair (1994)
Kind argue with that mate. Great albums one and all
