What really makes this band a legend - to me - yes, they are a legend in their own right, but, the true mastery of this legend begins to shine when You think about all the bands that grew out of Napalm Death. As there are:
Carcass (yes, i know they existed before Bill was in ND, but they hadn´t released anything, so i count them) - Cathedral - Scorn - Godflesh - Painkiller
Just to mention a few, maybe better known ones of them.

There will never be a more epic, complex, intricate, sonically eargasmic song than You Suffer. I still remember the first time I heard it. Blew my mind.

Learned about ND through their first 3 albums and basically grew up on "Utopia Banished".. I know every riff, melody, lick by heart, it's essentially my youth and forever will be. Not many people talk about it these days, but it's worth a listen. And fuck yes, Apex blew me away!

Great video. FETO is my fave of theirs. But if Mentally Murdered was a full album, it would be my fave, cos I love the mix of grind & death metal they went for on it. Like Utopia Banished, except with Lee & Bill on who I have a soft spot for cos their sound was so dirty & extreme at the time. Totally agree how highly you regard Scum & Harmony Corruption, 2 opposite directions but both perfectly executed. I also agree with your assessment of everything from F, E, D thru to Order of the Leach. I always preferred Order... to Enemy... which is kind of a less common consensus. I got into them around that time & got to know their work with the Noise for Music's Sake compilation, which is a perfect starting point for noobs that shows all their different styles til that point. So I've always had a soft spot for The Code... (still wear the old T-shirt proudly) & Smear Campaign remains my fave of their post 2000 era. It's cool that you also regard those highly, having discovered them a bit later, cos they kinda get overlooked in favor of Time Waits... generally by many fans. I always found that to be a bit of a step back in my opinion, altho it has one of the best opening couple of songs as well as the best closing few on any modern ND album. It just kinda dips with it's length & some of the pacing & experimentation in the middle for me. But it's still ferocious, which is something I'm very pleased they've been able to maintain to this day. The fact they're still going at such an intense level this late in the game is something I'm very grateful for. They're my absolute all time fave extreme metal band. All hail ND!
Anyway, that was my 2c ramble of thoughts. Respect dude, keep up the good work \m/

Hell Yeah to Napalm Death. One of the most important bands in all of Metal. Barney Greenway is one of my favorite vocalists. Not to mention many genius past members of this band would create amazing bands like Godflesh, Cathedral, Carcass etc….. My ranking of this band has changed since I commented on POJ and Thralls of Metal’s ranking videos.
Awesome that Harmony Corruption did have John Tardy and Glen Benton on it. And Napalm Death with John Zorn on Everyday Pox❤️❤️
