The slur means "slow" and comes from an outdated clinical term for people with developmental disabilities. It stopped being used in the medical community for very good reason.

I've noticed an influx of the r slur trying to make a comeback. Like I went about 8 yrs without hearing it and now I hear it a lot again. It seems they got to comfy with our comfortatbility of Neurodivergentness

The slur means "slow" and comes from an outdated clinical term for people with developmental disabilities. It stopped being used in the medical community for very good reason.

It was thrown around all the time in the 90s and early 2000s, pretty much as casually as "that's so gay" was. I'm honestly kinda jealous of the fact that you can't figure out what it was though. It pretty much jumped into my brain the second I saw the r.
I might get what they were thinking though. The phrase they probably had in mind was R… strong. Still, the person has to either be trolling or might be suffering a bit from the issue they are questioning.
