I didn’t buy the kit. The guy I bought it from had the kit already. The only thing I bought was the honing tool, the lubricants and the oem rings. I purchased the oem rings from the local dealer. As for the kit. I purchased my sons pw50 kit from eBay. I am assuming you can find these kits on eBay or Amazon. They are basically refirbed cylinders with heads. I totally recommend you hone the cylinder before install. Usually not done as good as they should be when you buy them. But I am sure for under a 100$ you can find a decent kit. Just look at all the reviews before purchase. Thanks for the feedback. I try to reply as much as I can. I still have this bike and haven’t made a vid in a while. Damn Covid makes it hard to get any parts. Cheers
What is the diameter of the flexhone tool? Gonna order one but don’t wanna order the wrong one. Choices are 1”, 1 7/8”, 1 1/2, 1 1/4, 1 1/8, 1/2, 1 3/4, 1 3/8, and 1/4 inch
Haven’t really looked at ur profile but could u show more or talk more about the bike I recently acquired one but it is missing everything, no body pieces , the piston is broke needs a whole front end, has no carb, missing the throttle throttle cable, back brake is broke, I just need sum assistance with knowing where to find stuff
If you had the cylinder bored out to the proper size to fit the bigger piston yea. Typically a stock cylinder can be bored out a size or two depending on the thickness of the cylinder liner.
Gaskets don’t need grease. But if you mean oil the cylinder it wouldn’t hurt to put a coat of oil on the walls and rings. Good time to even give a quick hone
Pretty sure the compression test is at end of the video. The piston and cylinder were toast. I am surprised it ran before I did rebuild. Again pretty sure I show how the piston and cylinder looked in the video. The bike started on its first kick with new cylinder. It had enough power to drive myself where before the rebuild it struggled. I was super happy how it turned out with all that I did to it.
If you had a machine shop rebuilding your motor they would do it. The cross hatching helps with lubrication and breaking in the rings especially in the beginning. Just my thoughts on it. I suspect the top end rebuild wouldn’t last as long if you don’t have good cross hatching in the cylinder.
Great video, in depth and well explained! Thanks for taking the time to put it together!
Cheers!
Looking sweet. I rode my PW 80 until I was 13. Awesome bike
Really impressed on the compression. Was surprised how much I noticed it in the kick starter.
Class video boss going to do this next week to my sons from uk take care
Glad it was helpful. Cheers!
Thanks great video man! I'm excited to rebuild the one I just picked up
Anytime. Glad it was helpful. Cheers.
Hi, thanks for the video! How is the cylinder kit holding on? Can you post the link to the kit? Thanks!

All the products I used is on the description below. 1 7/8
Yes 47 is the #
great detailed video,do you know how much one of these kits cost i need to rebuild my pws top end
Not to expensive. I think you can get them on eBay relatively cheap. I think I payed about 100-150$

Yup got a few vids on the pw80 on my channel.
Could I put on a 49mm (100cc) big bore piston in the stock cylinder? I heard you said 2 sizes up but I wasn’t sure what you meant
If you had the cylinder bored out to the proper size to fit the bigger piston yea. Typically a stock cylinder can be bored out a size or two depending on the thickness of the cylinder liner.
great video
where did you get the top end kit from?
EBay. Vendor in the states somewhere. Sorry been a while since did the vid to remember. But for sure eBay
So rebuilding these small motors aren’t too bad ?
Ya they are pretty basic motors for sure
Ordering a flexhone, what grit did you use?
240 grit.
@@bigair0176 great, thank you very much and thank you for the excellent video! 👍
hey if im just replacing my gaskets should i still regreese everything

I have a a PW 80 what’s the name of the rebuild kit you used?
Bought off eBay. Can’t remember if link was in description.
How much compression does it have after the rebuild. And if it had lower compression before did it have more power after
Pretty sure the compression test is at end of the video. The piston and cylinder were toast. I am surprised it ran before I did rebuild. Do you have to hone the cylinder?
I would but if you don’t you may not have the top end last as long. Will depend on on how well the machine shop did it for you
You over tightened the head bolts with the ratchet 😂
Where can i get one of those manuals?
is the cross hatching necessary because im not too sure about motors
If you had a machine shop rebuilding your motor they would do it. The cross hatching helps with lubrication and breaking in the rings especially in the beginning. Just my thoughts on it. I suspect the top end rebuild wouldn’t last as long if you don’t have good cross hatching in the cylinder.
Go to 11:12 in the video😂
You keep saying 48mm but std bore is 47
Where can I get one of those manuals for rebuild?
I believe I got mine from fortnine. But I’m sure you can order them from Amazon or eBay. Shouldn’t be to hard to find. Cheers
