This morning? May I ask where you are in the world? I live in Oregon, USA and it's dark here. We are on Pacific Standard Time. It just turned 10:00 PM... Three hours ago when you made your comment, it was nearly dark. The sun was going down at that time. Just curious where morning might have been 3 hours ago... 🤔
@@southernladyish This time last year we were taking Luke's mom to her cancer treatment appointments in 🎵Our Old Kentucky Home 🎵..(🎵Far Away🎵) 🌲🌳🐎🏫🚘🌳🌲 We had come to stay and help out the family until things either improved, schedules got easier, or until she no longer needed to go to so many appointments. When we arrived there, and this was same few weeks the plandemic had been set in motion. All the highways were hauntingly empty all the way from Oregon to Kentucky. By the time we made it to Kentucky, ⛽ fuel prices were just $1.50 per gallon. I have never paid such low prices in all of the time I have been driving. We made our way home to Oregon in February. ⛽ Fuel prices here are as usual, nearly $4.00 per gallon. When we spent this past November 1st-January 1st in Kauai Island🏝️, Hawaii, the furthest inhabitable island out and the most overpriced of the islands, not to mention the most rural and undeveloped, ⛽ fuel prices there were cheaper than they always are here in Oregon. I can't say if Oregon lowered prices of fuel during the thickest of the plandemic, but I would imagine not. We could really use an entirely new government here in Oregon. All the politicians in this state need to be replaced immediately by our current government officials polar opposites. Oregon is majestic. Demoncrats and some greedy, evil local tribes are responsible for and the ones making all of the money that can be made from clearcutting these ancient rainforests here. It is the most corrupt, hidden, evil, ugly, wicked, greedy, careless, vile, sad, and tragic thing that occurs in this state. Of course, it never makes the news... News!? Ha! What news?! Word of mouth seems to work the best for sharing news as far as I have been able to observe.

I cannot put into words the effect this video had on me when I first heard it. This and “The Girl the Universe Forgot” molded my taste in horror forever. Props to ya’ll for bringing this story to life, because it MESSED me up for life in the best way possible
This is so great. I haven't had time to listen to anything in the last 6 months. But when I get to sit down and finally do, it's Datk Somnium. Greatest UA-camr ever.
The entities seem less extraterrestrial and more extradimensional, so it’s really not much of a Fermi Paradox question but straight-up cosmic horror (ie Matilda’s theory over Cheshire’s.). Damn-near perfect story, though.
@@Zoinkin89 no it really is just about aliens. Moreover aliens like us. Water needing biological, chemical organic life that evolved around one of the trillions of planets. Not aliens living in stars let alone interdimentional demons things.
@@silvernerian3093 it mostly is what you say. That is true. But with recent discoveries hinting at higher dimensions it can also include them. It originally was as you say though.
@Dexhead if we made our search more broad and add to things stuff like the drake equation, we could possibility (don't know if this has been done already tho 😅) include entities that are in stars.
@@Zoinkin89 I could definitely see M theory and similar things being used to solve (more like add more to) the fermi paradox, however then we would need to change quite a bit. I mean the fermi paradox itself is based on the premise that planets are abundant and water aswell. All the chemicals for life as we know it really. Not saying we shouldn't or coulng rework the paradox to include these other things, however then it would definitely become more Sifi or even fantasy. I don't mean to be rude or anything😅, but all tgese things hinting at other dimensions are still not established in science, like at all. Its theoretical and somwhat unfalsefiable or perhaps infinitly malleable is a better word for it. Were as planets and stars are incuded in a number of etablished scientific theories.

10:03 I love how the writer introduced a very human and intentional aspect to the supporting characters here, the people were motivated toward the group's morale without sacrificing individual support. It makes the supporting characters more likeable and necessary, which is no easy task in a short story.
One of the best stories I've heard for a very long time. It was an epic, fantastically beautiful, melancholic mixture of horror and cosmic fantasy. Thanks for yours and Rom's amazing, perfect narration, and to the incredible talent of the author, Grand Theft Motto, who's No sleep channel I will be subscribing to immediately. I can't wait to read the book he's writing based on this! 💘
Within the first five minutes, I thought this was going to be an hour long version of "WE HAVEN'T SEEN THE ALIENS BECAUSE THEY'RE ALREADY HERE". Instead, I got one of the most unsettling stories I've heard in awhile, followed by one of the most melancholic endings. The creep factor got turned up when he saw the "old lady" at the grocery store. I'm still not sure how someone who was born blind would know he's looking at monsters, though.
@@templar19 Ahh, okay. Forgot about that guy. That is kinda weird. Maybe whatever he saw was so unsettling or unnatural that he just instinctively, "knew" they couldn't be human?
@@templar19 the protagonist wasn’t born blind in one part of the story he says “after he lost his eyesight he heard a hiss in his garage” this was around the mr floppy part
Stories like this, as weird as it sounds, make me wish for fantastical or otherworldly things to exist. As terrifying as they can be there's so much left unknown that it leaves me wanting more and wanting to experience it myself, the whole SCP thing is another example of this for me. Great story and great narration.
Extremely good story. The part about the comic relief character in his tv with the extra mouth on his throat whos head was bobbing every time he told a joke, disturbed the hell out of me.
Lovely 🌹 work, the two of you. It's always such a pleasure to hear you both lulling us to sleep. Thank you for all of these wonderful narrations. You two are THE Top CP Narrators. We love the SFX and music that you two have on your videos. ❤️❤️❤️
12 minutes in, the scariest thing so far to me has been the statement "my sense of time was becoming flexible, but i was sure it was some time after midnight" idk if thats the exact quote but ive had that sort of timeless limbo state before, its awful
That's just my general sense of time. Without a timekeeping device, I can't seem to tell the passing of 10 minutes from 30, let alone tell what time of day it is.
The story reminds me of blood-born and how eyes give us insight. The more you have, the more you see the real world. However, it's a two-way mirror; they can see us just as much as we can see them.
It's because both bloodborne and this story are inspired by the Lovecraft mythos, this more directly tho, since they talk about the God in the woods with the dancing goats(Shubb Niggurath) and the coward king in glass(The king in yellow) i'm pretty sure they name more gods but i'm not that deep in lovecraftnian lore
It's stories like these that make me wonder if we're better off being alone in the universe or not alone. Also, this is some top-tier sound design. You're my favourite horror narrator because of that!
“I dropped my groceries and sprinted out of the store - They sure look hostile, but do we know what for? (I wondered) Something knocked on my door.” ***poetry slam snapping ensues*** ***lights fade out***

We need more surreal horror movies. On another note your editing is fantastic. Unlike other horror channels you don't just read a story and add creepy music. You really make it immersive.

Please let it be a part 2 or at least a cameo of Waltz and Matilda finding each other somewhere... It's just so sad and terrifyingly lonely to embark on such a forced multidimensional journey without those who kept by your side along the harsh way...... They weren't bad people They deserve a happy place and happy interactions with good entities and each other again, maybe it's asking far too much now but even might include the others from the chat in a gathering where they all explain how it started for them and their travels... But if that can't be done, then at least Waltz and Matilda please.
I love these longer stories, the deep web story, left right game, the ocean is deeper then we thought, secret prison guard are my favorites. I have listened to each several times. Great work
I’m sorry, but when the dude who asked “Can you spare a light?” and Ronnie narrated “I very nearly shit myself.” I had to pause the video from laughing so hard.
Excellent story. Shorter than some of my favorites. I dig the long stories , but this was so well written and so descriptive that I could close my eyes and see it all. That's why I like the narrations . I can close my eyes and it's almost like a dream. The deeper I let myself slide down the more if starts to play out like a movie. A trick I discovered as a kid in kindergarten during a story time

Then I lost the radio signal right before I knew who it was...lol I stop pulled reverse in the highway at 2am and never got back the signal of the station ...lol 40years later I'm still trying to figure out who was the killer!!!!!!!!! Honestly, this is one of my favourite stories DS has done. I listen to it every now and then. Its my favourite because despite the fact i know this is a story, it makes me feel like im not alone. I hallucinate a fair bit, usually stuff like this. Its undiagnosed, although i have been referred which is nice. Its not all the time, but often enough for me to have a shakey view on reality. Often times i dont know what to believe, or whether or not i am just a little crazy. But this story generally helps me remember that im simply surrounded by stories. Its a good thought.

Okay, this was the first time listening to one of your vids/story narration and I have to say you are damn good at this. It had all the production value of the old radio plays; voices, music, sound effects all were very top notch! I loved how you did this so much I have even subscribed. That being said, I hate misleading titles. This was a very good, engrossing story, but only two lines discuss anything about the title. The author is very good, pretty sure I listened to another of his stories from Reddit /nosleep, but this deserves a better title. Something like "My New Eyes Have Seen the Horrors of our World" or "I Can See Again, But I May Be Losing My Grip on Reality". IDK, something along those lines. I really enjoyed your video, but the title kept bugging me and I kept expecting something different. It wasn't until the last third of (hour long, wow 👏) the story that I gave up and just enjoyed the story for what it was. All in all great stuff, thanks for sharing, and keep on keeping on!!
I work nice shift as a security guard and your stories keep me excited. It's sounds like the beginning of many creepastas and that is one reason I love my job. Also thank you for the 1 hour video. Appreciate it very much 😀

@@loturzelrestaurant I understand the point that you are making but consider this, perhaps the author wrote his characters reaction to the unknown beings from their state of mind which seems to be varying degrees of panic and humans don't react to panic the same way, take for instance someone who was drafted into the army during a war, it's impossible to predict how that person will react when they're on the battlefield having bullets flying at them and bombs exploding all around them. Talking to the aliens isn't as much of a practical option as doing something that will help them stay alive, another possibility is that they don't try to communicate because of how the aliens reacted to them at first... Just thought I'd toss out a couple of reasons why they reacted the way they did as opposed to the way you presented so it wouldn't look as an illogical course of action as you said it appeared to you... It does have to do with Fermi, because "aliens" do exist but in a different dimension and they are everywhere, but physical beings can't perceive them. That's why they haven't found any aliens in this ancient and terrifyingly large universe.
@@ramboti6402 That makes no sense. The Fermi Paradox is about how mathematically there should be aliens out there, and we should be able to see signs of them. We do not and that is the paradox. That was a unique mix of Lovecraftian horror, body horror, sci-fi and love story and the ending was deeply poignant. It worked on so many levels and wasn't at all what I was expecting. The author has a true talent and vision, and the narration really pulled me in deeply. Thank you.
Ahhh just the existential crisis fuel I need this morning.

The best stories make you question reality haha
This morning? May I ask where you are in the world? I live in Oregon, USA and it's dark here. We are on Pacific Standard Time. It just turned 10:00 PM... Three hours ago when you made your comment, it was nearly dark. The sun was going down at that time.
Just curious where morning might have been 3 hours ago... 🤔
Too bad it’s not actual fuel lol bc were still struggling here in GA. But this definitely helps 😁
News!? Ha! What news?! Word of mouth seems to work the best for sharing news as far as I have been able to observe.
...And Waltz got to the big ball of yarn and lived happily ever after in Weave World.
Please make more of these Scifi themes. Your stories have been my constant companion and I would like to thank you for all these . My favorite is the Sounding of the fifth trumpet which I have repeated countless times already. More power to you man!
I love that one too, which I’m about to replay!
"sci-fi"... Uh no.
Greatest UA-camr ever.
thank you so much! hope you like the story!
True dat Fam!
The entities seem less extraterrestrial and more extradimensional, so it’s really not much of a Fermi Paradox question but straight-up cosmic horror (ie Matilda’s theory over Cheshire’s.). Damn-near perfect story, though.
Technically still aliens though. The Fermi paradox is not just referring to extraterrestrials.
I am on hour three of editing this week’s video and I picked up my phone for something to listen to, and this pops up in my notifications. Bless you.
good luck! and thank you :)
@@Darksomnium for real dark. Discovered you a few months ago and listening to you has impacted my well-being for the better. Everything about your stories, the production value, narration, original score just oozes professionalism and care for your content. Thank you Dark, from me and your entire community. We love ya
This gave me "The left right game" vibes and I love it!
incredible narration as always! :)
That last line " I miss Matilda..." hit me too hard. Enough to make a grown man cry :'(
10:03 I love how the writer introduced a very human and intentional aspect to the supporting characters here, the people were motivated toward the group's morale without sacrificing individual support.
He lost his sight in an accident, didn't he? Don't think he was born blind.
@@Xero_Kaiser not the protagonist...the very first person who got artificial eyes. He was born blind, but knew he was seeing demons when he got them.
@@templar19 Ahh, okay. Forgot about that guy. That is kinda weird. Maybe whatever he saw was so unsettling or unnatural that he just instinctively, "knew" they couldn't be human?
@@templar19 perhaps it came from a primal fear? Whether or not you saw things from birth there could've be an innate primal or instinctual fear?
@@templar19 the protagonist wasn’t born blind in one part of the story he says “after he lost his eyesight he heard a hiss in his garage” this was around the mr floppy part
I absolutely love the sound effects you do! It really pulls you into the story. you do great voice acting too
Out of all the narrators I subscribe to, your voice is the S M O O T H E S T.
Great vid!
Wow, thanks!
The title got me, can't wait until bedtime, must hear it right now!
hope you like the story! :)
@@Darksomnium Loved it!
@@0therun1t21 glad you liked it. I'm disappointed. I wanted alien/ UFO weirdness, not body horror metamorphosis :(
Stories like this, as weird as it sounds, make me wish for fantastical or otherworldly things to exist.
When this music starts in the beginning of the video, that's how you know its going to be one of THOSE stories. Awesome.
I'm so excited for this one 😤
Just the title got me pumped! I know its going to be good
Psst..the two of you are the best. True story... 💕
Lovely 🌹 work, the two of you. It's always such a pleasure to hear you both lulling us to sleep. Thank you for all of these wonderful narrations. You two are THE Top CP Narrators. We love the SFX and music that you two have on your videos. ❤️❤️❤️

12 minutes in, the scariest thing so far to me has been the statement
"my sense of time was becoming flexible, but i was sure it was some time after midnight"
idk if thats the exact quote but ive had that sort of timeless limbo state before, its awful
That's just my general sense of time. Without a timekeeping device, I can't seem to tell the passing of 10 minutes from 30, let alone tell what time of day it is.
Wow that was so awful and beautiful all at once and you just carried those emotions right through to the finish line.
Cosmic horror at its finest. I love the story and your narration was amazing!
The line about throwing up teeth made me gag, this story comes to life with your talent!. Thank you for all these videos
Thank you Joseph:)
Your story telling helps me make a journey into my mind and fantasy. It's almost like a trip!
And much like a trip, you just don't want it to end. Cept tommy taffy. I definitely wanted that one to end.
This is some of your best work yet... and that's REALLY saying something!! Thank you!!
The amount of emotion and detail pumped into this is surreal good job somnium
It's stories like these that make me wonder if we're better off being alone in the universe or not alone.
Also, this is some top-tier sound design. You're my favourite horror narrator because of that!
“I dropped my groceries and sprinted out of the store -
They sure look hostile, but do we know what for?
(I wondered)
Something knocked on my door.”

I love how the quality of the stories you and RomNex narrate have not dwindled at all since you started this channel. And your narration abilities just keep getting better and better.
I always feel a boost of productivity when I listen to your narrations. this one made me stop and feel feelings for a couple times tho.
beautiful sound design and editing as always. keep up the great work!
I gotta say this would make a perfect movie (title could use some work though). This is an extremely unique story and I loved every second. This fits the definition of surreal horror. We need more surreal horror movies.
On another note your editing is fantastic. Unlike other horror channels you don't just read a story and add creepy music. You really make it immersive.
I really liked this one Somnis lol it actually had alot of emotion. BTW I love your music tracks man, keep up the good work! I have been a listener for a couple years, I finally made an account to comment and subscribe to my favorite horror readers, and I know you probably get this alot but, you are my favorite out of the bunch.

@@Darksomnium it's an honor brother! You made mine by responding to it lol
What track is this?
This is probably one of my favorite stories to date!
Awesome work man as always
Please let it be a part 2 or at least a cameo of Waltz and Matilda finding each other somewhere... It's just so sad and terrifyingly lonely to embark on such a forced multidimensional journey without those who kept by your side along the harsh way......
They weren't bad people
They deserve a happy place and happy interactions with good entities and each other again, maybe it's asking far too much now but even might include the others from the chat in a gathering where they all explain how it started for them and their travels... But if that can't be done, then at least Waltz and Matilda please.
14:35 "I very nearly shit myself"
I laughed myself all the way awake🤣🤣🤣
Ohhh the talent you have for story telling! Thank you kind sir for your amazing skills!!!!!
Wow, thank you!
Ah the existential horror to keep me awake at high school
This was very good, well written and narrated. The ending was a little sad but it was good.
The description of Baltimore as a city crawling with horrors in this isn’t too far off from real life
I love these longer stories, the deep web story, left right game, the ocean is deeper then we thought, secret prison guard are my favorites. I have listened to each several times. Great work
These are all excellent, but my personal favorite has to be the old horns. You should give it a listen if you haven’t.
I’m sorry, but when the dude who asked “Can you spare a light?” and Ronnie narrated “I very nearly shit myself.” I had to pause the video from laughing so hard.
Lol x)
Your voice really helps me sleep. These are so well narrated :)
thank you :) im honored
Excellent story. Shorter than some of my favorites. I dig the long stories , but this was so well written and so descriptive that I could close my eyes and see it all.
That's why I like the narrations . I can close my eyes and it's almost like a dream. The deeper I let myself slide down the more if starts to play out like a movie. A trick I discovered as a kid in kindergarten during a story time
Can always count on your channel to give us the craziest, most emotional, most out there space ride. Voice acting, sound effects and story...all on point! Thank yoouuuu! 😝
I really wish this was a series I would literally non stop listen to this
I'm not sure if I'm meant to feel sad, depressed, melancholic, hopeful or what else to that ending. Brilliant story and brilliant narration, I cried at that last line to be honest
How have I not heard this story? It was nothing short of amazing. As usual, your narration skills are extraordinary.
This feels like a hope story turned horror story turned partial love story all at the same time but like, this is an amazing video honestly, I was number 264 to hit the like button and I'm glad I got here when I did, best stories ever on this channel
Ngl, I think it’d be really dope to go on a road trip with a girl while listening to stories like this. Getting goosebumps and chills while exploring different states, eating whatever we want; just vibing peacefully.
stories like this I think can defeat some level of regular anxiety
Man the sound effects alone make you the best creepy pasta narrator! It’s fantastic!
Absolute amazing story! I was invested the whole way through!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I really dig all the stories I been listening. I came across this channel and I haven't been able to stop listening to your narration. So awesome and creepy and just fantastic!! Thank you
thank you so much fred, this is one of my favorite stories :)
Hey please keep doing what you doing cuz you got chops my friend!! Great narrative of stories!! Reminds me of these radio soap operas.. funny things it brought me memories. I left the The base I was station in Ft.Bragg to drive to GA. I left after 7pm. I came across the radio station doing a soup opera .
The story was at climatic point where they where Ready to unmask the villan who killed one of the characters. Then I lost the radio signal right before I knew who it was...lol I stop pulled reverse in the highway at 2am and never got back the signal of the station ...lol 40years later I'm still trying to figure out who was the killer!!!!!!!!! Lol
Loving it, a lot. Thank you for the narration! I somehow wished this is just part 1 and there are parts 2 and 3, so I can Watts can find Mathilda and I can find closure... 🤣
Damn, you really did amazing with this one Dark Somnium, everything with sound design and voice acting, it really had me thinking. Keep up the amazing videos, also it’s fine if you don’t want to but I’d love to see another livestream on Resident evil 8 I loved your last one
this is my favourite story, I loved it so much. None of these stories have ever been able to give a chill like this. Great work!!
You always bring the stories to life, I always listen even if it doesn’t seem like something I’d be in to.
Edit: I didn’t think the Fermi paradox would go the way the story seems to be going.
"I very nearly shit myself" at 14:31 had me dying 😂
I hope Matilda's okay wherever she is😔
Your videos are awesome I work overnights at a hotel and these make my night fly by
Okay, this was the first time listening to one of your vids/story narration and I have to say you are damn good at this.
Appreciate it very much 😀
Be nice to get a part two, and it's about him finding Matilda again in the other world and going on from there. That would be awesome.
Sometimes, the best part of the horror is not getting a happy ending
I love the name Matilda. Awesome story Dark Daddy! Another impeccable narration as usual, thanks so much for blessing my day.

Love your stories. Both how you tell them and which ones you choose to tell.
I write this while being at 42:00:
This has a lot of Amateur-writing, especially
how weird the Protagonists and Antagonists behave.
They never even mention Police or Hospital or Reporters
as an Option.
They also literally dont try or react like its even something
to consider to call out to the Being that SPEAKS,
when they FIRST meet something that SPEAKS.
Thats totally unrealistic.
I can get that you dont try to speak to 'Just Eyes on the Wall',
even though many people, including me, would definetly try anyway,
but not speaking to the first Being that Talks is just unrealistic.
It all seems odd, but not in the way it wants to be odd.
I thought it might help seeing it from a different perspective...
Peace!
Good grief. This is.... this is fantastic. Definitely in my top three of your library that I’ve listened to. Hell yes.

@@Darksomnium yeah dude! Shit, I really want this to be a movie... or at least a series. I’d love to work on something with this...
If your story ends up being a far different tale then when you started it's ok to rename it instead of trying to make it work or not even doing that.
You wondering what this has got to do with Fermi too? Good story, of title.
It does have to do with Fermi, because "aliens" do exist but in a different dimension and they are everywhere, but physical beings can't perceive them. That's why they haven't found any aliens in this ancient and terrifyingly large universe.
@@ramboti6402 oh I see.... no wait that's where I was already still think it doesnt make sence with the title and opening
Rambotiツ Whatya mean? the Zucc is an alien! 😂
@@ramboti6402 That makes no sense. The Fermi Paradox is about how mathematically there should be aliens out there, and we should be able to see signs of them. We do not and that is the paradox.
