Absolutely one of the best hosts of a booth that you have covered this year. Doesn’t take himself or the situation too seriously, delivers expert knowledge and opinion, gets the show 100% and is entertaining. Get him on the channel more please.
I want to say thank you to Anderson’s music and other music companies and UA-camrs for taking videos at NAMM because of those of us, like myself, that cannot go to NAMM.
@@misterknightowlandco technically, if you include nostrils and ears she has 7; 9 if you include eye sockets, but you gotta draw the line somewhere. Besides, need to hold features back for the next model.
Hey, it's Lee from Dawson's videos. Since I got back into playing after a long layoff, I've had 2 criteria for choosing a guitar. First watch an Anderton's review and then if possible a review done by Lee at Dawson's and I haven't been disappointed yet. I would love to see Lee and the Anderton's gang sit in for a jam. Now that Lee is promoting Ibanez, I will have to give them a closer look than before. Looks like a nice range.
The carbon trem arm was developed to eliminate some of the warble you got with the metal trem arm when picking hard. Satriani did a video demo on it ages ago.
can we get a sound like for The Offspring, Covet, Polyphia, Chon, Andy Timmons, Marco Sfogli, Tom Quayle, Martin Miller and Steve Vai this year i'd love it
Ha ha, I'm older than you Lee! I wanted a Rootbeer JEM with the barrel finish and the pink pickups once the Loch Ness Green original run of 777 had sold out. Great work gentlemen. Next time give Lee a guitar - he is so amazing a player it would be rude not to.
Those ibanez archtops are some of the best selling guitars in their lineup. Idk why they dont get more love. Really the only jazz boxes available at their price range made by a company you've heard of.
@@misterknightowlandco it is weird but it's also one of those things that everyone who knows, knows. Really the best bang for your buck for that style of guitar
Love the coverage this year, bringing along the rep/rabea really helped since I know this isn't Lee/Danish Pete's strong suit, but next time if we're going to call it a FULL walkthrough can it be a full walkthrough? I love you guys, and I love this brand, and I do like to see all the instruments at least that they are coming out with. No drama on skipping electronics or accessories.
I hope that you can get Lee Wrathe back in to the video room for a demo of some new Ibanez models and a chat/banter! I only recall seeing him in there once years ago with Chappers.
BTW - "That nice full binding" like Bea says he likes on the Premium models are just masked off before spraying and made to look that way. Premiums have always been that way. Anyhow, great booth review, you really showed all the guitars up close with a awesome camera. Thanks guys! Thumbs up!
Just a FYI. The Ultra Lite arm on the new PIA, JEM's and JS models isn't a normal bar with a grip. It's a carbon fiber arm that feels better. It's lighter, flexes and feels more organic when using one. They are $80 USD.... which is pretty pricey if you ask me. But they are more than just a grippy bar.
Great video BUT I’m 100% sure the Gibson Les Paul (signature guitar) has A) sold more than a Jem and B) came out a long time before the George Benson model. I’m not wrong right?
At 12:33 the ibanez representative says that they are not bare knuckle but dimarzios but they are bare knuckle!! Go check the website if you think i am wrong!! Rabea was right!
i'm really into those new Premium models, they look so amazing! i also liked some new RGD61ALET and RGR5220 and those 2 RGA ones but those only 6 strings for some reason.
I would like that cutout in my bass but in the bass clef pattern to cut weight and have a handle ( bass guitars heavy man)....help me out Mr.Vai?....rock that fretboard baby!.........he does....Barp!
I tried the Ibanez AZ226PB yesterday with a Katana and it was pretty amazing, considering my playing was pretty rusty and I didn't get it dialed in as nice as I could have etc etc. Looks suuuuper cool in person. I might have to consider one over a traditional Fender Strat... :)
Bea I think Satriani said the trem arms have to do with transient response since a heavier bar makes the trem more unstable. I can hear a difference with and without a bar but it's subtle. Personally I mostly care about the feel and I like the way the ultra light bars feel but if it helps make my sound a bit tighter, then sure.
Joe Heisler yes, I upgraded to the ultralite carbon arm on my JS24p. The regular arm exerts more torque on the floating bridge, so that if you play rhythm with some heavy attack in certain positions, you’ll occasionally get some initial unwanted oscillation from the bridge. The lighter bar snaps back to equilibrium much more quickly.
With brand new plastic rings on the bar, it will stay where ever you leave it. After awhile, it will not stay and slowly go towards the bottom. That's why Ibanez sells those white plastic rings
Actually the normal heavier tremolo bars flutter a lot better because of their weight.. as for grip, it's not really an issue on either the old style or new style tremolo bar.
Andy Timmons has already installed his AT1 humbucker on his own ATZ. But the ATZ has a slightly larger neck at the nut, which is nice, compared to the AT100 CL.
Props to this guy being so knowledgablele. Honestly these superstrats all look the same to me. Shame they skipped the hollow bodies, they are killer for the price
@Andertons Music Co I watched a pre-NAMM interview of Steve where he said that he prefers the titanium vibrato bar because it doesn't break, that he had broken others in the past made of other metals.
I had a Red Ibanez X series V in the 80s I think the headstock was the same as those pointy but a little rounded off but I think it had a little dip or cutout at the tip!
I love rgs and I love my charvels , jackson and my fender American standard strat but these ibanez AZ guitars are super nice man. I agree the rounded headstock nd body makes it look more traditional even though it's a new design. I don't have a AZ but a band buddy has one that I've been lucky enough to touch lol because he doesn't let many people touch his love lol I definitely need to get one... I liked that color purple on that signature idk who I think dudes name was John may idk beauty of a color

Mediocre Guitar Dude same with the Martin host!
AND we can still understand what he's saying, because he still has a voice even on day THREE of NAMM!!!!!
@Reed Tard For Ibanez ya numpty
eh
Mediocre Guitar Dude chap used to appear on a Dawson’s UA-cam channel as I recall..
Liking this Ibanez guy. No faking; just telling two madlads about some guitars.
this lad is also one of the best players on this platform
I want to say thank you to Anderson’s music and other music companies and UA-camrs for taking videos at NAMM because of those of us, like myself, that cannot go to NAMM.
definitely man!
"The Ibanez Jem is a modern classic. How can we improve on perfection?"
"This one has two holes, and is named after my wife"
His wife will have two holes, so naming after his wife was the only thing that would make any sense at all.....
As the guys would say...….day 3
@@-EndlessNameless- doesn't his wife have 3 holes?
Mister Knight Owl & Co. wives can have as many holes as you are willing to make

Ray H. These and Thomann for all the brands they don’t cover ;)

can we get a sound like for The Offspring, Covet, Polyphia, Chon, Andy Timmons, Marco Sfogli, Tom Quayle, Martin Miller and Steve Vai this year
i'd love it
A chon sounds like would rule, ive been leaving comments for months
Early offspring is some of the best music of all time.
I'm really surprised they've never done an Offspring sound like. Such a big influence.

Now this is what I called a great walkthrough. Great conversation, nice guitars. And chill
"Ibanez Full Walk-Through" without their jazz models? I guess they don't sell that well, but I guess they had some archtops there...
Those ibanez archtops are some of the best selling guitars in their lineup. Idk why they dont get more love. Really the only jazz boxes available at their price range made by a company you've heard of.

I loved the dynamic between you guys on this video, but really wanted to have a look at some of the new more affordable options from Ibanez?
That was not a full walk through you didn’t even show the new full Jiva range or munky new models
They probably WALKED through....just didn't do a full video :S
This video was focused on the PIA and did exactly that
Lee is an awesome dude! Killer guitar player too.
I agree w/ the Fro, loving that espresso burst AZ w/ the gold hardware. The gold PIA too, man, those pick ups are sweet!
That Pia is so nice.
Love Pia guitar from Steve!!!

My favourite part of the year, every year.
Awesome guitar brand, awesome retailer (Andertons)... this is what it’s all about! 👍👍
that green Pia looks AMAZING!!!!!!!!!
I'd still take the classic 'Stallion' white.

This was not a “full” booth walk through. Where where the RGDs?
Yeah RGD! RGD!
SDGR!
Is that the guitarist from Dawson's Music?
I think it is
Yeah, Lee, I think he left Dawsons to Ibanez.
Yes it is
this ibanez guy knows his brand 👍🏻
I wanted to see all the jazz guitars! DANG IT

That Ibanez PIA..... I want every color.
just home now with a beautiful green one. loud weekend ahead...
The guy is brilliant
they need to start making the SZ models again, those were lovely to play and had beautiful finishes.
No artcore line?
10:00 the easiest way to spot Premium vs Prestige is a bullet of the truss rod.
watcha mean?
That Seafoam AZ looks nice!
I love the idea of going "into the store and looking at these things" but where? No GC carries 90 percent of these.
I WILL HAVE THAT PINK PANTHER PIA I KNOW I WILL
Would love a new premium with those features and a non ridiculous finish. What happened to plain black or white guitars?
Where's Lee? Did he catch a bit of nammthrax and couldn't do any more videos?
Ibby are knocking it out of the park. I want every single one of those guitars. Even the lefty tho I'm a righty...
That green Pia is a stunner
amazing axe,jem first and now pia guitar series!!!!!!
This is great! Thanks Lee and Anderson’s.
Are the tree of life different on the pia than the jem? Because to me these inlays in the pia look better...
PIA in white and gold would be awesome.
I love how he speaks about Andy Timmons. AT is a legend ❤

Are Ibanez an Laney amps related now ? Or is it juste the same host for two competing brands at Namm ??
That guitar on the wall behind them is awesome.........................
The worst thing about ibanez is I find it hard not to buy an ibanez when I’m looking for a new guitar! ☺️
Last year I was looking for a Gibson and ended up with a RG. This year I was looking for a PRS CE and now I'm tempted by these.

Isn't the top selling signature model of all time the Les Paul?
Awesome!
The cf whammy bar stars in the position you leave it, it does not gravitate to the bottom of the guitar.
With brand new plastic rings on the bar, it will stay where ever you leave it. After awhile, it will not stay and slowly go towards the bottom. That's why Ibanez sells those white plastic rings

The AZ's look nice. My kinda style.
This Ibanez rep is really cool and relaxed vs. the typical used-car-salesman vibe most reps give off. Could do without the double entendres though.
You guys didn't show Joe's guitars ....

The headstock on the Roadstar was more curved up at the end, somehow knife-like.
I am wondering how will guitars look far in the future? I think someone needs to made some '2050 future guitars!' video, at least :))
