Yes I was just going to say this! I'm burned on my legs so I live off disability I do this as a side hustle(we all know how big a disability check is--not even a livable wage) so I just say I'm taking donations..95% of the time I'll get $20/ house a few people give $10 but I can work 2 hours and make a average of $120/day which would take me all day at a regular job making $14 bucks a hour! It's perfect for me because I can't work 8 hours but don't make enough from disability to cover all my bills plus I have 2 daughters.. I've had lots of people give $40-$50 bucks that just happened yesterday made $130 in 1 hour I made $248 on Saturdays if I go out for 2.5 hours.. AWESOME side hustle for real!

Actually, Find a clear coat that gives a slick coat-- but wears off in a year. I sell yearly memberships for free touchups @ 20$ a membership....almost no one calls for the replacement during the year and if they do it takes 3 minutes and also almost no overhead.
The key is to stay in touch with customers who enjoy having the clean looking curb with extra designs and offer free curb cleaning, and touchups WITHOUT clear coat to allow for more frequent visits. I dont scam them....I also offer a clear coat for an extra 10$ add on which few people take advantage of so win-win.

$10 bucks ain’t enough these days imo. Everything costs way too much. I think I would have no problem forking over a 20 spot for this service these days. Oh man, I've been doing this for almost 4 years. I charge 25 for EACH address placement. When they say yes, they are interested, I asked where and how many. I make sure to talk to them about it when they are standing in front of their curb. When they see three faded curbs, they either do 2 or all three. I have a unique setup, so before I do my pitch, they say oh you are the one with the display. It makes it easier. The most I charged is 350 for a very intricate Black Panther & Storm design.

I've painted tons of curbs. Here's a few tips. I always wear a hi viz vest. This will let people know you're doing work and when you're sitting in road help you not get hit.
There's generally tons of dirt and debris around where you're going to paint. My solution to this is a rag. I'll use it to move stuck debris. Then I'll kind of spin it really fast to blow the area clean. Works like a charm.
Road striping rustoleum paint is great stuff but the nozzle sucks. You can remove and place one of the newer style push nozzles on it and you're good to go.
I don't use the paper gun. I put my tape down and place old carboard from a box on the outside of the tape.

I have thought about also using the road striping paint but was having an issue with the nozzle thing as well, how exactly do I get one of the newer style nozzles and add it to that spray paint.

Good vid, thanks for sharing! I am just considering doing this around my hood and I learned a few things, if you want to share with your future viewers should you ever make another curb painting related video.
    1. Most cities require a license to paint house numbers on curbs.
    2. Most cities have restrictions on where the numbers can be painted in relation to the position of the house.
    3. Lots of cities require a reflective paint so the numbers can be seen at night by emergency vehicles.
    4. Most cities require the numbers to be a minimum of 3" tall. Anything over 3" is preferred.
And lastly, you might include in your arsenals of supplies a gardening pad or knee pads. Here in Arizona the asphalt and cement get pretty darn hot as do other locations.
OK that's all. Just thought I'd share what I learned today. Thanks for the vid. It was helpful!

@@TymOLaughlin well texas emblem is just a cut out star painted over a painted blue or red area at the end of the numbers. What the others are using are special cut vinyl stencils made by sign companies, any logo you want. They don't cost that much to have them made plus they're small, but they last a long time.
When I finished spray painting the numbers over my stencil, I touch up the gaps with a small brush so that the numbers are solid. $10 bucks a house is too cheap my friend

You just inspired me. Just got let go from my job after 20 years with the same company. I got into painting recently helping/working for my cousins contracting company during the Covid lockdown. Now as I sit here jobless your video popped up. Recently I repainted, compounded my mothers house. Some friends that are in the business said I had a good touch for someone that doesn’t do it on a regular. This gave me the confidence to possibly make this a new profession. I have a painting job lined up next week for a friend. Nothing big but it’s a good start. Don’t want to get in over my head. To stay safely on the legal side (also to increase your profit ironically), offer a complimentary service and you welcome and appreciate any donations to offset labor and material and time etc. Asides from more generous income, you stay legally a handyman hired for light painting work by the owner who gave you permission.
Everybody loves free and most people are going to be generous. Of course there will be cheap assholes, but it happens. You can choose to hit up wealthier neighborhoods and take the risk but charge $50 a pop. I did that a bit and made BANK xD

I started doing this about a year ago. One thing I've gotten so much is adding logos. So far I've done around 300 homes and one thing it's a lot longer for paint to dry in colder weather. Also many curbs have had water running along the side that makes it impossible to do. I charge $20 and $5 extra per logo. Gas prices makes me want to charge more and the paint I was using went from $7.89 to almost $12 per can. So I changed it to $6.50 cans.

When I looked at the stencils on Etsy, I was like hell no, I'll make my stencils myself lol.
