If you are using it to view behind you and your blind spots, would it also be recording the forward camera if something were to happen? Or does it only record the view you are seeing? Finally, the Philadelphia PD recently issued a warning regarding carjacking by hitting a victim's car from behind. If the victim stops for insurance info one of two carjackers would steal the car. Your rear view recording would be a helpful deterrent to this crime.
Thank you! If the bracket in 86 is similar to the one in the Corolla, you should be able to install it this way. If not you can still install the digital mirror on top of the original by using the rubber straps. We have not had a chance yet to try the Dongar adapter, so I can't advise you on this.
How easy or difficult is it to retrieve recordings from this dash camera to show authorities? Can dash camera video be e-mailed? What kind of format is used to retrieve recordings and forward to authorities?
Video is being recorded to the SD card in MP4 video format. You can remove the SD card from the mirror and copy video files to your computer or the USB stick.

We never tried Wolfbox since we got NikoMaku first. As for the dashcam, it largely depends on your preferences. If you don't want the digital mirror I would go with just the front dashcam. From the personal experience I find digital mirrors quite helpful.

They couldn’t fabricate a power connector wire that gets plugged into the oem mirror connection port??? Also, why didn’t they make the mount slightly longer as not not make the wires hit the ceiling?
This mirror is aftermarket. It is not specifically made for the Corolla. It has universal design. It fits a little better in the RAV4 - ua-cam.com/video/e9wbMuUrOWU/v-deo.html.
During the course of my installation, I tried to source a compatible plug via third party sources. Unfortunately I was spectacularly unsuccessful. I eventually ended up just baring the ends of a piece of solid core wire and shoving them into the plug holes. Also as pointed out, this is a generic product and so not designed with any oarticular vehicle on mind.
Hey buddy..good video. Mine can only record the front. The rear camera, I can view, but it doesn't record anything. I've checked the settings and everything looks okay. The SD card is a Samsung 32gb and it captured all the front videos and plays back. So not sure why it doesn't record the rear, I know it's functional in some way...as I do and can see images and moving objects...just doesn't record. Any ideas? Thanks.

Yes, both dash cams record the video even when the mirror screen is off.
