I live in Arizona where we have severe service issues with heat. Windshields get so hot in summer, suction cup and adhesive mounts for accessories get too hot and fall off. We need a more secure mount to windshield trim, rear view mirror or dash. Also, anything electronic placed in sunlight here overheats quickly and gets fried, even inside a vehicle. Are these units tested under those conditions? Can they handle being left in the windshield of a parked car in Arizona sunlight and heat all day?
I am from a well-known dash cam factory, and in our view, this result is already quite good. The products we have made for Redtiger, Wolfbox, and Vantrue are all capable of achieving this level of performance.
Although that seems like it would be easier, the reality is that prices are always changing and even depend on where the viewer is located, so the best solution really is to check for yourself via the links. We appreciate the feedback!

@@bayodamanthe prices are changing all the time. Many are offering 20% to 30% discounts that just popped up ... and then went away a few days later. If they imcluded prices here, they would be guaranteed to be wrong. How many comments and complaints would that cause? smh
The phone will shut off due to the heat if you live in a hot climate like Dallas, Houston, or south Texas. I tried an iPhone, and a Samsung phone works well when it's cool.
@@hungpham8090- Most Androids allows you to set the CPU to 50-70% in power saving settings which lowers the operating temperature. Most of the heat is generated if you have an active sim card in the phone communicating with a tower. If you remove it or don't don't need it, there's very little heat generated. That's why most dash-cams run cooler.
@JohnJuanNYC me too but I never get any guidance about that. It seem that if the unit gets its power via a USB 2 port, you should be able to connect it to an external (cell phone type) battery. But I don't know for sure.
I'm surprised that Viofo is not on this list. I have a Viofo a119 V3 for years and still going good. Only down side is that the a119 V3 is only a front camera, I'm looking to upgrade to the a229 pro duo camera's.
Hey i am looking for Dashcam with 5 + inch screen,, Wifi, gps and with adas and Lane guidance system, may be windshield mount...pls let me know, which one to buy.. I am searching, but unable to find. I had seen in Uber Car.
Thinkware x1000 had most of the features, no Wi-Fi but gps available with the external mount and the screen is 3.5.., thinkware X700 had same features of the x1000 But you can use the X700 /X800 with the multiplexer which means you can add 4 additional cameras (internal, sides, rear). viofo had a few models ,A229 has Wi-Fi/ 5Gz but screen is 2.5 and doesn't have the lane assist like thinkware
What camera can save last x min of footage as a stand alone file, with a swift action / click? Going through a lot of video to find a specific event is very tedious.
@@ThatGuy-ds9zi - I got that on my current dashcam and its useless. (except in a real crash or impact of course). To make it super easy to understand. Lets say you're passing a super nice area and just wanna save the view,. Just save the last 2-5 min as a stand alone video. That's what I'm looking for. The DJI action 4 got the loop feature, but it would be nice to have it on a installed dashcam. Preferred with a synced front and back view.

Awesome point. Thanks
I was thinking the same thing, did you find any that works?
Ceramic tint your car but especially the front windshield! Helps a lot with heat. Plenty of YT content showing the difference with meters and such.
I live in Florida and we have the same problem with sun and heat. I went to the option of a Dashcam on the rear mirror (VanTop ) and it helped a lot.
Thank you for your reviews they were very helpful!. how do connect them to your car? the Vantrue N4 Pro Dashcam had a lot if wires.

I just use a spare older iPhone mounted to the rear view mirror running a dash-cam app. It's a cheap but working solution. ;)

What battery pack would work with the red tiger, how do the dash cams work for parking mode without a battery pack?
Does all of this have internal battery ? I meant when you turn off the car the camera still going?
I think you’d have to set up additional hardwire for 24/7 parking. Don’t quote me on it.

Did you upgrade? And how do you like it? I’m looking at the same one on Amazon.
Is the Viofo user friendly? I'm not tech saavy and am looking for something that's user friendly. Thanks.
love the vantrue

Thorough review, best I've seen here on UA-cam. Appreciate it!

Don't understand why the Garmin Mini 2 is rated so well - it doesn't compare to a Garmin 467 or 57.

motion detection suck at vantrue, it take 16 seconds for it to start recording after collision 😮
