Yugioh core mechanic is just straight BP, there's no "rush" because after 2nd trun you can just attack.

I think the next week is probably the best time to make a video about LoR, because in the expansion that comes out today (or already came out today, not sure) they not only introduced a bunch of new cards, but also made a balance patch the size LoR hasn't seen since release so the meta will not be formed yet and a lot of janky or fun decks might have a chance to succeed. And that's a perfect occasion for you to check out the game :D
Shadowverse is really good. Especially the story. Storm Over Rivayle has the best imo.

Btw, in Shadowverse, as you noticed, there is 20 HP for both players, but on the other hand there is, I think, 40 cards per deck, instead of 30, which seems like an odd combination of numbers. In HS, there's 30 for both, but there IS a catch in Shadowverse. I don't think the game tells ya this, but there is no Fatigue in this game. If you draw all of your cards, and there's nothing else to draw, you straight up lose.
legends of runeterra also does this, which made watcher stupid broken
@@vaskopoh9512 Yeah, though in LoR this system is kinda being balanced around, and the spell mana also helps, plus I think there's also more ways to heal up your Nexus.
In Shadowverse, well, aggro is king supreme (I think, it would make most sense tbh), cause there isn't many ways to heal (at least not for all classes, or at least wasn't when I used to play), and such.
Shadowverse and LoR have very similar stat systems when it comes to HP, card count, and whatnot, but I feel like LoR's is a bit more balanced. (plus, all I ever hear from Shadowverse PvP is that it's hella unbalanced, so Idk)

I love Shadowverse. I just wish I played it more.
Holy crap that opening trailer is so nostalgic, that was the beta version and it performed every card animation incredibly slow which was bad tempo it almost made me insane. Shadowverse is so polished now then it was back then, hard to believe it's the same game.
As someone who plays Shadowverse a ton, I can say that this game is basically a faster, less random hearthstone.
Probably the best f2p ccg out there. You play for a year and you already become able to craft any deck you want.
Hey Solem, I think you might enjoy some of Yu-Gi-Oh's historical formats. I'd reccomend either Goat format (the most popular historical format) or Reaper format (which is the one I play). There isn't really a online Yu-Gi-Oh, but there are discord communities for those formats and some online simulators you can play on.
Those formats are a lot more focused on card advantage and interaction then current Yu-Gi-Oh's "break my board" style and it's way simpler since we don't have the newer summoning methods.

There exists some meme decks that can work on ladder, but as you pointed out, it can be hit or miss, espescially right now due to the two class dominance in rotation.

I used to play this game it was pretty good
Really good game and it was kinda f2p friendly at some point when i left the game. Storymode is really great, from time to itme i log in just to play the story. The problem for me was the premise that most decks force you to end the game on your 10th turn or youre dead. Thats not 100% my style and i dindt like all the classes. That aside you can do so many things that i Hearthstone would adapt. The tournament for example make the game very f2p friendly if you grinded enough. I won several tournaments and got really good prizes out of it that encourages you to play and win even more. The art design is great if you like the style. Overall enjoyable at least if you like the style of the mechanics.
I speed ran shadow verse in 1 month. I built the equivalent of midrange paladin with force of nature and brute forced my way through the entire ladder to make it to Master. After that, I never played again. It was a good game though. I barely understood the meta and all of the cards but from hearthstone I knew how to play midrange and hit face so that was great.
Edit: they even have their own version of call to arms which as you can imagine was busted. If you payed extra mana for it it basically became call of the wild that summoned 2-3 huffers and a minion with stealth and rush.
Edit2: I also used a card that was basically Leeroy without the downsides and gave a friendly minion charge. It was so dumb because imagine giving charge to minions that gain ludicrous buffs upon attack or ones that have windfury.
It's much easier to get cards here than hearthstone. It's also anime style!
The only thing that made me quit is that the meta consists of so many storm cards (charge in heartshtone) and so many burn cards. And also because of LoR
I see you played Shadowverse, Welcome and have fun. Just advise, if you mind, play in Rotation first. I can understand how you shocked when got defeated easily in unlimited format. i aggred the meta in this game are quite broken, but that's the fun part. We learn to create a counter combo as good as possible. Probably if you play some more and learn every class specialities and game mechanics (Like Maneuver that makes you confused when battling Pinata) you'll find it fun and challeging enough.

10:32 D-shift is the most bullsh*t card in this game.
Already got nerf so many times from cost 15>18>20, but still not enough. Because the condition is too easy, Just play spell and reduce cost and boom! turn skip. And in this period you can active D-shift on turn 6 consistantly.
The unlimited format should have banlist or something to get rid of this thing out from the game or they should nerf it more by adding more condition other than spellboost to get turn skip effect.

Try combo forest now in rotation, turn 6 otk, even if you cannot do Ladica big wards in that turn, best luck but Im not play rotation for a while until they fix this...

Check Elder Scrolls Legends, it is sadly unsupported but its fun and not that expensive to start playing it (except for the adventures that grant specific cards that I think cannot be obtained in any other way). Although entire decks can be bought with gold, so its alright. I strongly recommend it, person

Fun Fact: The 20 cost Dimension Shift you saw actually IS the nerfed version of the original card. You wanna know how they chose to nerf it?
Its original cost was 18. Their idea of nerfing at the time was to just raise its cost by 2 points.

Ok I wanted to say I am happy someone is making content on other card games. Let's be real here though. Hearthstone is a copy of magic the gathering and continues to take ideas from magic like most other games. I am a repeat legend player in hearthstone and stepped away from the game due to a lack of f2p elements. Shadow verse is great and I see they have added more f2p elements to the game over the past few years. Runeverse is the most f2p card game I've played and enjoy it. Downside is it is very much a visual clone of HS with some magic the gathering elements in place. I have been playing card games for 23 years! I hope to see more content like this from you and revisits again later on.

I subbed for the series. I'm tired of watching HS and there is so much TCG, maybe there's something interesting! Did you consider looking at singleplayer ones too, like Slay the Spire and Monster Train?
got both added to the list of upcoming videos, the one small problem I see is that with over 20 games I want to try out so far, it's going to take me 5 months until im done, been considering doing this twice a week to play more games :D

I played the year of release... but stopped playing after seeing decks that you either put ONE SPECIFIC card to counter them(if you don't own the card well to bad) or you lose, if don't draw it, you lose, and by putting that card in your deck, it really makes your deck a lot weaker when not playing against that one specific deck... but I don't know how the game is nowdays...

Try "Fight- the polish card game". its very unique with board game elements and is completele free. Unfortunately its old and so the player base is vere little. You may need to ask some viewers to join. When i played the players base had a decent size but was not very challanging. To download the Pc version you need to go to "ustawka" site. The download file is like, idk 10MB. The game has only 40 ou 45 cards but have some very unique and cool elements.

@@Solemhs yo :D thx for the response, kinda late but I would say the things that would need explaining would be the turn system, how the board/fighting board work, and how you can put spells on the "stack", maybe those are very different to any other card game but even these can be explained in like a lighting round, the keywords and other game mechanics are pretty easy to understand and I would say that if people are interested they should play the tutorials, Runeterra has a tutorial explaining every keyword/mechanic from A to Z and its really cool for new players even giving extra xp.
Also this is something else, but if you searched the Reddit for the time to get all the cards, I documented my time playing and when a new expansion drops it takes around 2 weeks of playing like 5 games per day to get like 90% of the cards, in one year you will most likely have every card in the game. and from there on out every expansion you should already get like half of the new cards anyways because you are so ahead.

Current expansion is just BAAAAAD impression towards the game.
Usually it's on better state, but they decide to bring natura package back when jatelant is still in rotation and expect no Bullshitery or something.
Not to mention combo forest being almost tier 0 deck is really dumb, i just hope they fix this mess, like, 75% representation on the first JCG apparently is not enough for Cygames to nerf the F out of forest.
And no, before any forestcraft apologist say "At lEAsT iT REquiRes brAiN t0 Pl4y", T4/5 otk is not healthy, doesn't matter how 'hard' it's to fucking pull it.
not to mention you can walls yourself with double heroic resolve and can even treat it as sekka forest if you're forced to play your resources to survive is just plain dumb.
Edit: Also, I've realized this was recorded last expansion kekw.
Of all of the wrong things you could say about the game is their daily misions. You are asked to win with a certain class and you just dont have the deck, it gets worst when you reroll it, and your roll turns your 50g quest into a 10g that asks you to win against AI and you just have to do it else it stays there and you actually lose on the next quest.

For anyone curious, no, Shadowverse Anime has nothing to do with the story in this game. It's basically like Yugioh, where it's more of a "real life-ish school kids battle with their cards against all sorts of evil" type of scenario. They Yugioh-fied it.
And yes, there is a patch for Shadowverse you can download to un-nerf the big booba lady, as they did to her the same thing they did to Jaina.
Shadowverse is amazing under every aspect: art, story modes, balance, depth and complexity, f2p, it is genuinely the best card game out there by far
Ehh, wouldn't be so sure about f2p. Sure, if you've been playing the game since day one, sure, but if you want to get back to it after a long break, you are pretty fucked. Like, if I wanted to get back, I'd have 0 relevant cards for rotation an the 5-10 packs I could get for free would not help at all. And considering that daily quests want you to win with deck instead of just playing them... good luck. I was thinking about getting back in it a few times, but every time I actually did, it soon became obvious that if I want to play anything but story missions and brain dead AI, I have to put down a couple hundred bucks to be able to. And no way I'm committing to that when Runeterra let's me play anything, anytime, without a single cent of investment.
@@Warfoki if you play rotation you just need like 6 months of quests and in-game events to catch on, even if you lose often...that's how I started and I had already 2-3 top decks after 6 months
@@StefanoMariani-prv Yeah, so basically, you can get top tier decks... by the time the next expansion comes out and makes something else top tier. In comparison, after about 6 months of consistent play, you can pretty much get ALL top tier decks in Runeterra with ease, and most likely will have resources left over to build janky nonsense for fun. And you can get to your first meta decks by just playing lab of legends about the AI, instead of trying to bang your head against the wall that is constructed without proper decks.
And the thing is, it's not losing often if you get back now, it's not being able to play rotation AT ALL, since I have 0 cards usable in the format.
@@Warfoki what I can I say, my experience is different: between sets I can easily save 12k+ rupies, which lets me open a decent number of packs (in addition to those earned through quests and battle pass rewards); for the mini-set, I simply save the packs earned through quests and battle pass rewards and open those; the rotating set is all dusted. With this policy it is very easy to stay updated with the meta.
I just started and they give you way more than 5-10. I'm actually only opening like 5 a day because the influx of new cards is just way too much being a new player.
4:10 before. Hs really created the mana/follower style of card game, but failed to retain the creativity. I stoped playing shadow for about 1 year or more(most because of Runeterra and powercreep) but at that time Hs gameplay wasnt even close to shadow in number of mechanics, combos or strategy
When i begin to play Shadowverse it took about 1/2 months for me to stop playing Hs, i couldnt go back because of the hard time as a F2p i had on Hs and the mechanics/gameplay from shadowverse, i realized that most "new" cards from Hs was being the same card from before with a stronger effect and the strategies never evolved(mage used the same combo for otk only changing some support, warlock only played hand or zoo, hunter only face, warrior hand, etc etc)
Happy you tried the game out,and the infrequent balance patches con you said is probably the worst problem with this game.Started playing it 1 or 2 years ago and I only remember 1 patch that nerfed a overpowered class.

Yeah that was why I stopped playing. When the game was new there was some long games with namely control blood that had wincon of dropping 10 drop that changed your deck into op cards.
Nowadays you just get killed out of nowhere if the game lasts too long. There's just too much burst damage flying around for my taste. I still occasionally watch some videos and visit the subreddit but havent played in years after got fedup. Lor is pretty good right now though(big update tomorrow) and even hs while kinda stale isnt that bad.
they recently did some card nerfs and now one of the more popular decks in Rotation format is a control deck (machina portal)
unfortunately is a pretty expensive game to play in Brazil
i like this game because the card art of the women has great personality

Not a great game or a bad game, decent for a Game but not a card game. Ive played like Tons of TCG, so this for a card game there's a few things it doesnt make sense. But the bright side of this game is that basically u have ur basic knowledge in game you could just copy Meta decks and compete in tournament which is great. but kinda burn out after awhile, but is still a way to kill your time in a fast way.
You need to play Yu-gi-oh on Omega or dueling book. :)

Yeah there is zero counter play, from my experience you play a fun looking deck and your opponent plays the most streamlined op cards for a turn 3-4 win. There really are only 1-2 decks per class that are "meta" so designing your own deck from cards you love and trying a new strategy is downright impossible. But if you're the type of card game player who just likes 1-2 mins games and not thinking about having to make your own deck and just use the top 2-3 decks from a tier list website then yes you'll have fun with this game.
Played this game a bit a while ago, but at the time the meta was pretty boring. The game is fine, but a lot of the decks felt very "combo or aggro", there wasn't much in-between.
The only reason why I quit shadowverse coz most of my opponents got some Yujioh luck

Shadowverse is a Good game, F2P, very giving and Good comunity.
But very short games whit a lot of fokus on agro, dont feel like i can play comtrol decks. And also the 5/ 6 episodes og the anime is horrible and it do not explaine the game at all. Just a warning.
they implemented card changes recently which allowed control decks (read: machina portal) to shine again, even being one of the more popular decks post-changes
there are still more aggro decks but in general machina portal can play against them just fine (it really only loses to combo decks which I guess par the course for control I guess)

i have played shadowverse on and off for the last 4 years along hearthstone and my imressions are. The class identity is much stronger, card effects are unapologetically complicated, theyre not afraid to break unlimited with combos. But my main problem with the game is unironically the art. All the waifus look the same and its just coomer bait. I always think wtf would someone think seeing me play the game. But tbf theres some really good art in the game, mostly the ones that dont feature humans. Those are mostly amulets and neutral spells

No, not really most of them operate in the fact that you are playing it daily and slowly getting a collection of cards, for example trump a hearthstone streamer got to the highest rank (legend)I n hearthstone in a single month using a ftp account, he was able to create two tier 1 decks and easily climbed ladder and still had a decent collection of cards, or even in shadowverse which I've been playing for 6 months with the recent release of the expansion I opened 150 packs (10 cards per pack) and in the coming month I'll probably get 50 more (all ftp) easily allowing me to get almost the whole collection,thing is in a ftp card game you still will need to manage resources but that doesn't mean it's P2W

only bad thing about this game is the story, sucks ass with the characters making many decisions that no rational person would make. i mean its mostly just the sword maiden character but its enough to just make the story unplayable...
You should check out some of the later story chapters which are more or less disjointed from the original story and are actually very good
