I wish Blizzard would have more of an attitude like SV's devs do. Each class in SV does have somewhat of an identity, but they give a wide range of tools to all of them and let the community figure out how to make it work, not tunnel vision them down a specific path. Take this deck for example, it's with a class that gets more powerful from being at low health, and it has the single largest amount of heals of any deck that exists. That contradiction would blow Blizzard's mind.

I'd say bloodcraft is closer to Rakdos than pure black. While most card games balance wise feel like "lets make a core set of magic" at the beginning , SV feels like "Hey lets take our favorite mechanics and throw them in" So you get equivalents to storm and suspend in addition to you staple ramp/tribal mechanics.

Pompous Princess is literally Small-Time Buccaneer/Southsea Deckhand, except *less* powerful. And this game rates that at *3 mana.*
And that's considered playable, even *good* in an Aggro deck.

I mean, Pompous Princess doesn't NECESSARILY bring out a Quickblade, unless that's the only 1-cost thing you've got in your whole deck.
But, yeah, it's basically that combo but statted properly without a horribly imbalanced 1-drop that kicks it off.

with the big difference that the camel has 3 defense more and pulls also a 1 drop out of your opponents deck. they are completely different cards. so to say. further a 2/4 minion with a powerful battlecry effect would considered as a 4, maybe even a 5 drop in SV. and you know why? because control/combo decks are much more entertaining to play and it's a nice attitude from the SV dev's that they support slow pace also with new expansions and not coming up with shit loads of aggro cards. some things like a 2 mana 3/4, 4 mana 7/7 or just 1 mana 1/3s who can grow or have other useful effects would cause so much damage to SV. it would kinda turn SV into HS. no thank you good lord

I know a lot of HS players dislike Shadowverse, but I have to extend a huge thanks to Kripp. The first time I've heard about it was on his channel, decided to give it a go and never looked back.
Now to be fair like any game it has some ups and downs but overall I found myself enjoying it so much more than HS. The artstyle is definitely not for everybody an I find myself more often than not questioning if that female armor REALLY needed to accomodate to the unnaturally large breasticles the card has for some probably extremely important reason, but the overall gameplay and generosity towards f2p players is amazing.
Concerning the quality of the meta, there are a couple decks that are stronger than others, but most of the time they can be countered by switching out a couple card in your deck and overall experimenting around with decks isn't nearly as tedious f an experience as in HS. For the first time in a long time I can honestly say I'm having fun in a card game. Didn't think that shit was allowed.
So in the end, if you find yourself having some time and can look past those huge anime stereotypes you might just find yourself enjoying this game. DISCLAIMER: I take no responsibility for spelling mistakes, my first language isn't English, but please feel free to roast me on them anyway.
Procrastination TV The artstyle is typical anime artstyle tbh, Japanese writers and game developers tend to put fanservice in everything they do. It has to do with the rooster of artist Cygames has, if you go to their portfolios some of the cygames artist also work as hentai/porn artists outside of doing works for the company
Thing about SV is you can build almost any meta deck when you start playing or you can experiment around of most popular decks and actually win them most of the times.
I created cheesy havencraft seraph deck which is playing around only three tier 1 deck and two of second tier decks. I'll win against those meta guys in 70% of the time but I'll loose to even the worst dragoncraft deck no matter how crazy my opening hand is.
Well, the trash-Anime everywhere and horrible interface the game has kinda kill it for me.
And sure, you can play around with a lot of stuff, but that's because the community isn't as big as this is.
Many pro HS already stated that SV is very fun to play but if people had easy resources to netdeck with and more people played the game there would be a lot of shit unfair combos that got people killed by turn 3 or 4 in 90% of the matches.
It's fun because everybody is a newbie having fun. HS is a bunch of old players trying hard.
João Aude Theres no single combo to kill someone in turn 4 in SV, the fastest combo is forest roach at 7-8. Btw what do you mean with trash-anime everywhere, you mean that type of anime drawing in particular that is heave in fanservice or anime style of drawing in general? if the lastest, why is specifically trash?
It's, as the Op said, very stereotypical.
Little to no attention to design at all. Design by excess, characters that don't really feel like they fit on the same universe just full of common tropes in general. It's also very bland and generic. You can show someone 50 different anime girl cards and if you're not really deep into the game you can't really tell them apart easily.
Card art is just not very readable or distinct. Neither across classes or within them. I was playing a heavencraft tempo beast deck and after spending a week playing that deck I still couldn't tell what anime girl summoned tiger, which summoned birds, which summoned tigers and birds and so on.
The game's aesthetic is all over the place. Some cards try to look a bit more western, creature design sometimes tries to be realistic sometimes cartoonish... It's all just a mess. No real design direction there.

I'm honestly surprised there are so many dislikes, I thought the HS community came to a agreement that the current state of the game is shit. Besides Shaowverse is way better than HS in practically every aspect. What's wrong with Kripp playing other games when he's so obviously bored with HS.
Because it's "WEEABOO TRASH" because... Y'know, anime artstyle and apparently has giant-breasted young girls despite the fact that it... Doesn't. It has giant breasts and it has young girls, but the two don't cross over.
By far the biggest turn-off some have about it is the ''weeb'' style, but it's not even weeb since it was made by a Japanese company. If those people getting triggered can get over the anime art, it's definitely one of the best card games out there. Proper balance, variety of decks, healthy meta, generous to new players, etc. Just annoying how a good majority Kripp's fans he got from HS freak out whenever he plays another game.
I'm disliking Shadowverse a lot after having sat through several streams of his. So I have an informed opinion. I don't like the game at all, so I'm disliking the video because I'd rather see him upload videos of other games (not necessarily only HS).
You are not forced to sit through his streams or through his videos.
I can't get over the anime artstyle :( But it does seem to be a really good game

HippoInABottle i too was once a dragon geek. until blizzard destroyed dragons for me. they werent op. but at least they were fun and you could do many diferent variations of it..now...allways the same plays, same decks except 2 or 3 cards.
I've only played Shadowverse for 10 days and I already opened 12 legendaries (out of which one was animated). I can tell you that their new player experience is absolutely exceptional and you truly can be a ftp player and enjoy yourself at the same time. I won't say that the game is overall better than HS or vice-versa, but I will say that if you give Shadowverse a chance right now, you will have a much better time than playing games that last 4 turns against pirate Shaman and pirate Warrior on the HS ladder.
And don't try to give that argument regarding art: "Oh everything is too weeb for me in that game." You're not playing a card game based on how the cards look like. And if you are, don't tell me that you'd rather look at the faces of Tunnel Trogg and Patches every game instead of some anime-looking characters.

I can agree some of the voicework is slightly cringey, and not all-around as good as Hearthstone's, but it's not HORRIBLY dubbed. Most of the Shadowcraft stuff is very nicely voiced, I think. Mordecai in particular is just cool to listen to.

Money 1217 you basically get three turns to win after that you are pushing it. control blood is the only deck that lasts as long as he did. maybe control sword as well

There is actually a thing in the settings where you Can turn of all of that for an example the leader animations and the voices
I've discovered Shadowverse thanks to one of Kripp's video one month ago. Very friendly to beginners, with a lot of freebies, but has kinda the same meta-game issues than Hearthstone, aka "everyone and their mother are playing net-decks, even at the lowest ranks".
Still, in one month, I got dozens of legendaries cards, whereas I couldn't get even one in Hearthstone. So much better if you're mainly interested in the collection part.
The shadowverse team just announced something that would never happen in hearthstone. They gave a % value of the usage in the top ranks of a couple of decks. At the same time they announced card changes to address the issue where one craft (runecraft) was played 32% of the time. To prepare the for the expected higher % of Forestcraft they are making more changes. But the best part is it's already going live in 5 days.
More importantly the nerfs were relatively sane and didn't delete any card or deck completely from the game. *cough*warsongcomander*cough*
Hi Kripp, I got into Hearthstone after watching your video. I was a Yugioh player until the power creep becomes too "insane".
Btw, do you feel the Hearthstone meta is getting really "Linear" and "Plain (Boring)"? It all about Pirates aggro (so the ideal class to climb are classes that can equip weapons) and decent board clears? Seems like Arena is the only saving grace for Hearthstone. The only "fun" class seems to be Warlock (thanks mainly to extreme amount of board clears and also Abyssal Enforcer) . Do you feel the Hearthstone team is running out of "Steam", the scope seems pretty linear. Not all decks work and its seems to throw strategic element out. Not to mention "Power Creep" (just say the mana cost of 3 Mana Grizzly Bear vs Hired Gun or maybe a little more mismatch comparision: 7 Mana Flamestrike vs 7mana Abyssal Enforcer). I played Hearthstone for only a month and it seems apparant that Pirates are the easiest way to climb. Just play enough times with Pirates and you will eventually climb... kinda sad...
So anyway, do you think Shadowverse is better than Hearthstone? They do feel "similar".

For those wondering how to link your account to mobile, you'll need to link it with Facebook first. If you have an iPhone, you'll have to use someone with an android or download an adroind emulator on your phone and do it through there.
Honestly I don't care what Kripp plays. I'm just waiting for the next moment he'll go all out again.
Back when I tried Shadowverse, there one was basically game breaking fault with the interface, where I would try to pull a card out of my hand and play it, only for the game to decide I was hovering my mouse cursor over the card next to it and played that instead. I can't really describe it very well but it's something to do with how the animations conflicted with which card I was trying to play. As a result, to avoid misplaying cards, I had to play extremely carefully and slowly. Sometimes I'd want to evolve a creature and it would detect that I meant to play another card and do that instead as well. I see Kripp's gotten into an habit of selecting the unit and then going for the "Evolve" button in the left corner, probably to avoid this problem I'd imagine.
I quit the game solely because of those inaccuracies. It basically made the entire thing feel so clunky to play it was unbearable. Like playing a fighting game at 15 fps with super lose controls or something. Honestly felt like a bad mobile port and the devs just don't know what they are doing. It's a shame because I am a shameless perverted fan of the art style and sending cute girls to do my binding never gets old. Also the game is indeed superior to Hearthstone in many aspect. But even for a card game, controls are just THAT important.

Really? What's wrong with it? The biggest issue I'd see with it is the inconsistency between "monstrous" characters and the humanoid ones who're far more... Anime.
No art style is objectively bad, and while some cards tick me off, a lot of the "weeb sh!t"actually looks pretty nice

Dopp3lGanger It has to do with the differences between the differences between the fantasy genre in the west vs japan. While the west has this more down to earth almost steampunk fantasy setting the standart for the japanese is in general a more fetichized one, more revealing clothes in both males and females and obviously all done in anime style because there anime style is like the standart type of drawing
The thing that annoys me most is like the voice acting sometimes, a little bit too much cringe. Characters are a little boring too I guess

My experience with Hearthstone - played for 2 years, always trapped playing meta decks and without key cards (ie kazakus, patches, Aya) you can't really play those decks. Always struggling to do quests and try and get gold just to compete on ladder only to struggle all the way to rank 10 and for what? a bit of dust? a golden rare?
My experience with Shadowverse - Start the game and after 5 days of playing already have a competitive meta deck and managed to pull 10 legendaries in the free packs they give you just for starting the game. Am already crushing the ladder and have no intention of returning to Hearthstone, a game I sunk $60 into and still dont have half the cards I need thanks to pack-fillers. also 8 cards a pack > 5 cards a pack.

I don't know if 5 card board space limit is better than 7, but it's a fun game, better than HS.
SV is balanced so much better. Basically all minions cost 1 more extra. 1/3 cost 2 points, 3/2 cost 3 points. A 1 cost is never stronger that 1/2.
i would still consider Legacy Elves in mtg the most fun deck i have ever played or seen in a card game
