I've been using Vvivid for 6 years and love their material. Their wrap ceramic coating is great as well. It is much thicker than 3m or other materials and has held up very well in the AZ sun. Glad to see they're continuing to innovate.
Really? Vvivid was one of the worst for me and I've used 3M, Avery, Hexis and KPMF. As you mentioned, the material is thick but that makes it a nightmare to install on difficult cars. It really wasn't a good experience.
Same here, Vvivid just seem to work better for me. I do normally work with flat or satin colors, so I don't know if that makes a difference. I live in Alaska and haven't had any issues.
quick tip, Christian , i'm probably an idiot for saying, but it works for me, i use a damp rag to wipe the panel with before laying it, then i get no bubbles stuck, glides right out
I'll definitely give this a try. People have been saying this can also be installed wet, but I haven't experimented with it yet since I prefer dry due to time saving.
@@CKWraps JUST A BIT of baby shampoo with water not dripping wet, or youll be there for an hour trying to dry it, keep it up my man, i'm a product of your videos, owe you one!
Hey Christian great Video. I have used Vvivid films before but a little to stiff for me. haha but now that I see this I cant wait to sell a job and try this out. My name is Christian as well and been installing vinyl since 93!
I'm really excited for the future of the industry with films like this hitting the market. Thank you, I'm really happy with how it looks on my Gladiator.
@ckwraps That's awesome Chris! I'm working with a company (WON'T SAY THE NAME "YET" 😁) that's about to release their version of colored PPF, of which I will receive the first roll. Super exciting times for our business. 💪🏾
Great great video and this is exactly the product I would want on my vehicle but I have a question living in Northern Ontario how does this material deal with bugs and the acid that they leave behind . My old Bra was so badly damaged by bugs there was no point in even having it on and you could not clean it? Would love to know how this thing deals with bugs over rocks.
Looks great now I'm second guessing my Avery wrap I did a year ago on my 2010. Love the color but I'm currently rocking the gloss grey. Looking at their website there isn't much color selection yet. Do you know or think they'll expand the selection of colors? A matte orange or blue is my next color on the vehicle. Thanks for your videos gave me a ton of confidence when I first started wrapping!
Give it a couple of weeks. I already know what colors are in stock and there are some really nice ones (around 12 for now). In a month+ there will be around 40 colors.
i love this new ppf game, flexi is ok, but has some issues in my op. It lacks the elastisicity of a normal ppf, im about to get sinister red color fusion for my m4, lets keep fingers crossed! any tips?
It's possible for it to change the finish, but majority of the time it isn't noticeable if the product is applied thoroughly. I'd suggest testing some on a scrap piece of film before doing it on the vehicle. My experience with coating over matte and satin films is that it only changes the finish for the better. Meaning that the coatings tend to add more depth and vibrancy to the color.
Thanks for all the great information. I want to wrap sections of my jet ski. Mainly, areas of the hood and sides under the seat. Don’t have any recommendations for a good quality carbon fiber that will stand up to salt water? Thanks in advance. I really enjoy watching your work.
Meant Do you have any recommendations for a good quality carbon fiber that will stand up to salt water, but AutoCorrect got me again… Sorry about that and thanks again. I do like the honeycomb, carbon fiber as well, it wouldn’t have to be just a standard carbon fiber. I’m hoping to find something in a gloss finish if possible.
This looks amazing! Do you know if they are also planning to make this material in a clear option? It would be great to have a dry-install PPF film that was clear (as far as I am aware no-one is making anything like that currently). Thanks,
They've been working on a dry install clear PPF for around 5 years. Coming from and installer standpoint, it seems impossible due to the air release pattern showing through. Perhaps one day it will exist.
I'm wrestling with the idea of doing their color fusion. I really want to do something in green but they don't seem to have anything in that category. Thinking I might go demon black for something kind of unique and since it's ppf I can always just wrap over it at a later time. This is going on a black model y. Thoughts?
Hey CK, do you have any thoughts on the Vvivid ColorFusion compared to Flexishield's Cosmetic PPF. ColorFusion appears to be a bit thinner than the Flexishield product but potentially easier to work with as well as cheaper from what I can see.
Both are totally different when it comes to installation, which is why I have a dual certification cosmetic PPF course that teaches and certifies with both Flexishield and Vvivid. I have some inside information on Flexishield and they're in the process of developing an updated version 2 of their current cosmetic PPF. I'm excited to get some, hopefully soon! As for price, Vvivid is a massive company and they can more than likely afford to scale production up higher than a smaller company like Flexishield which is one reason why the cost is lower. As popularity grows (and it will) then I'm certain that Flexishield will be able to lower their overall costs and pricing to follow.
@@CKWrapsThanks for the response. Any chance you will be comparing ColorFusion to Flexishield in the future and was there a rough timeline for the Flexishield V2 product? I recall (but may be wrong) that Flexishield is 8.5mil vs the 6.5mil of ColorFusion so I wonder if there is much difference in how much protection they can offer. I have the Flexishield color sample book and a lot of their gloss films seem hard to beat so I'm looking forward to see what Vvivid offer.
@@Orphan707 I may do a comparison when version 2 comes out, but for now I don't have an eta on that. It's hard to compare both right now because they are totally different. I'd like to see Flexishield close the gap a little with their version 2 before getting too much into how each one is.

QA Analyst here. For clarity a micron is .001mm or .000039". It is not a thousandth of an inch. A mil is .001" or one thousandth of an inch.
Generally "Mil" is used in measuring the thickness of films. I may have mentioned micron by mistake.
