That wrap transformed the Cybertruck. I just bought a used 22 Model 3 and didn't realize until after the purchase that it has an entire body full edge PPF wrap on it. The dealership had no clue of course. They also did full tint. I bet the prior owner dropped $6-8K on this and got nothing for it at trade in.
Going rate is between 4500 - 5500 for colored PPF installed anything higher and they are taking advantage of you. This is full for over edge wrapped 3M or equivalent not knock off Chinese Film.
@@djmagicmike5986 bro I paid $4500 for full ceramic and full vinyl wrap... The only thing that changes with ppf is the material cost is about 2-2.5k more. That ceramic on all exterior surfaces including glass. Go someplace else, they're assuming you're a rich idiot
Q: Is PPF worth it? A: If you ask in reference to my three-year-old Tesla Model Y LR then yes, both the full front clear PPF and the ceramic coating is well worth it (not to mention the car being garaged when not in use).
We bought a used Model 3. It came with a vinyl wrap. It's very windy here. There's a lot of construction grit in the air. Since we only have a carport, the grit is pretty hard on the wrap. Is it OK to use the wax at the carwash on the vinyl wrap?
I recommend ONR! No wash rinse and shine and get one of those 5 gallon sprayers, use that with a bunch of microfiber towels to get rid of all the grit when you can!
@@EverydayChris Thanks, but we're old people, with recent medical crises, and a car wash is our only hope. We have a good car wash about 3 miles away. It has a really good spot-free rinse. But when it comes to waxing, we don't know what chemicals are involved and what they would do to the vinyl wrap. You know so much, and I had a faint hope you or one of your followers could give us a clue here. We'll have to be the guinea pigs. I'll let you know how it turns out. 😘
@avwill I’m going to guess it would ruin the wrap since the auto car wash chemicals are pretty harsh! Maybe ceramic coating on top of the vinyl wrap? Haha
@@TheMadmax0609 We haven't used the wax. The surface still looks pretty good. There are a few tiny dings and light scratches, but they are mostly from the grocery store parking lot. I've noticed other Teslas with a similar wrap (pearlescent) aren't shiny either.
Real question is, how long would anyone keep the same car after 7-10 years? Price depreciation with or without PPF. Basically spending the tax credit on PPF. Is it worth it after that period?
I just ordered an Audi e-tron GT. This will be my first time owning such an expensive car, so I would like to protect it, but I am not sure about spending so much money on a leased car. Do you have any recommendations?
Getting a new model x. Chris so from what I’m hearing is that the best way to protect the paint and color wrap is to do a color ppf? I’m so new to this I would love your input. I don’t want to spend 5k just to have the wrap undue itself too soon. Thanks for all your help!
Chris, I always thought PPF was too expensive because you can go to a good body shop and have a panel repainted for $700. I'd rather pay as I go than spend 5-7k upfront. Also, the vinyls to change the color is a waste because they get ripped up. BUT, since you can't choose the CT's color and now you can do a colored PPF, I can see the value. Your color and trim choice is EXCELLENT!
Does Xtreme Edge offer the pure ppf now? Or did you purchase it yourself and bring it in? Last time I contacted them a couple months after you did your MX, they only offered the colors from stek
Just got my tesla model y all becu of these videos thanks 8) i see you have something on the right of your steeringwheel. Is that thw weight so you dont have to keep touching the steerung wheel??. If so do you have link?
Hi Chris! Do you know anyone that got their car wrapped with the color PPF that Tesla offers? If so, do you know their quality? Maybe do a video review of that if it is something that you have access to
3:11 "I'm not sponsored by anybody, that's why i'm showing you guys the footage" yeah, so when it is sponsored what are you hiding is the question lmao
Just to make it look different is reason enough, everyone's driving around with the same typical white red or blue, it's so much better to wrap your Tesla in a different color to make it stand out even more and become more personal
because the stainless still will be impossible to clean with any stain, i think chris made a video on this. with the cyber truck PPF wrap cleaning will be a lot easier
Thanks!
Thanks for the support as always!!
What’s this specific color wrap?

Wow!!!!! Very helpful video, I am thinking of getting PPF next week!!!! 👍👍👍
do it!!
@@EverydayChris but which color!!!? 😅
@6:49 is that a plug in the side wall?
Nice color good job 👏🏻
If one likes the original CT SS finish, why not ALL ProtectaClear?
Mine came off after a car wash.
Very helpful video Chris. You saved me so much time choosing what to get. I do love the Simba color.
Thank you!

Ya 7k for PPF wrap is high. They must live in commufornia. Should be 5-6 for color PPF even bougie stek
I just got qouted $8500
@djmagicmike5986 that's absurd
For cyber truck. $8500 to wrap and $1900 for ceramic coat. I thought that seemed high also

It’s such a hard question to answer, but I like better than not.

Yeah. If you don't keep your car for more than 4-5 years then it might not be worth it. This is more of a long term investment

Yea! Regular ppf to keep og color. Colored ppf to change the look! Congrats!

Your color and trim choice is EXCELLENT!
Having a panel repainted means your VIN goes into a database and a CARFAX will show you’ve had some bodywork which will diminish its values.
Does Xtreme Edge offer the pure ppf now? Or did you purchase it yourself and bring it in? Last time I contacted them a couple months after you did your MX, they only offered the colors from stek

Chris, the CT needs it to make it better looking. Imagine how good a Delorean would look with it

When it comes to reselling the car , does it reduce the value of re sale price?
Usually it increases it due to the added protection

Not that I know of! But when I do I'll let you know!
if only i had a little extra laying around would love to get mine wrapped soon
Saw a Cybertruck with gloss vinyl. It did not look good. Like the muted colors like grey.
Yeah I like the satin matte look too

what did he say?!
I'm firmly in the no ppf gang, but I have the cheapest model 3
Nice.. now you have a delivery truck instead of a refrigerator.
hahah
why? Teslas will tank in. depreciation regardless 😁. The only area you should consider is on the front of the car
I just did this. Just my bumper PPF this week and Xpel tinting

Cybertruck must be top 3 ugliest car I have ever seen. 🙈🙈
Sure buy 120k truck and spend additional 10k just to protect from scratches. Genius way to go bankrupt
