Under the trunk is the silver heat shield held on my 10mm bolts.. What i did on my 2016 is loosen those off and packed the gap and tightened the bolts back down. Dropped the rattle significantly.
Hello thank you for the video I’m trying to do the same in my 2016 camaro 2ss I have a question do you think I can use the rear trunk speakers to connect the line input converter or have to be the one are using in the video
My plan was to use trunk speakers until I found out I didn't have them in a 1ss! Haha so yeah I think you can use them. With the bose amplified system just have to see if the chimes for door and stuff come through louder. If your just using it for just subwoofer I would think the low pass filter on the amplifier would take those higher frequencies out and you would be good.
I did the same think and it sounds good but what's weird is that when I close the doors it gets like a bass sound even tho I don't have music on. I even added extra ground and it does not eliminate the sound. Any other tips will be greatly appreciated
That is weird if it happens only when you close the door. I was going to say if it happens when the amp is turning ON then get a pop stop eliminator. Is your gain set too high that it is picking up the slight electrical noise? I'd try turning gain down see if that helps.
Bro where did you ground your converter to? I tried grounding at the amp and my amp is grounded to the camaro ground which isn't working. My amp won't turn on neither will my lc2i pro (converter).
I grounded the kicker converter to the battery lug. Did you tie both negatives together and both positives? If that would cause an issue if they weren't? Also make sure you have voltage from the speaker, could be blown?
I'm was using a active line converter LC7I from audio control and since is uses the speaker signal to turn on instead of relying on a remote signal I don't have a issues with any random subwoofer pops you should look into it
You tap into the two wires going to the rear speaker. I only tapped into the Passenger side, to make it simple. So it makes the sub a single channel based off of the passenger side, vs if you tap off of both PS and DS you could wire your dual subs to each side.
Where did you get the remote wire hooked up? Is it in the fuses box? I had a 2010 n a 2013 Camaro and there used to be a dedicated remote wire where the vehicle's amp wiring was. Now with the 2018 im trying to figure out where the wire is at. Any inputs???
The RCA converter came w a remote wire. After hooking up everything I did have a loud noise when driving, I unhooked one of the microphones from (either side) the door. N sound is AMAZING!!!
Good question.. I don't remember exactly but typically ground is black or it will be colored with a black stripe. Try this first and don't clip panel back in until u try system out first to make sure it works.
Yeah I had the same issue right away. Make sure you hook up the ground connection wire on the LOC. I didn't do that right away and my amp wouldn't turn on.
@@EssMotorsports yeah in terms of accessibility it will definitely sound better as it also has a function to restore bass rolloff when raising the volume of the stock system
What’s going on bro I have a Camaro 1ls 2021 and I just installed my subs and when ever I turn the car on I hear a roaring noise coming from my subs what could I do to fix it
If you have a factory amp, Sounds like it could be a feedback loop caused by your active noise canceling mics. I'm just guessing from what I have read on the forums but that would be a good first place to start.
@JaxonWeems I didn't spend much cause I was reusing old sound equipment. The amp, capacitor, speakers, even most of the wire was reused from previous vehicles. The box was cheap and the new fuses was few bucks but not bad. Everything new now a days would be probably 700 bucks.
Got everything hooked up on my camero but for some reason my trunk won’t open and when I lock the doors my alarm doesn’t make any noise? Hopefully someone could tell me what it is and how to resolve it
@MianteWinters I used the kicker keyloc tied into speaker wire for the remote turn on for the amplifier. Check out my other camaro sound system video. Should have link for Keyloc that I used
@@EssMotorsports is that supposed to be better ? Because I used the converter in this video and I’ve been having so many issues. What gauge wires are you running ? What kit are you using ? I don’t think you really mentioned everything you used
No u don't. There is argument that capacitor is harder on charging system as well. So for one sub I would leave out. I have 2 10s in my silverado with no capacitor and it's all good
I've done this for years in multiple cars, never been an issue. I space it off a little so heat is not a factor. Car probably shakes more than the box does! Haha
@@EssMotorsports it's a really clean set up you did. I've seen alot of videos of some really crappy installs on camaros. I hate untucked exposed wires and electrical tape videos. You should be proud.
You have to pull the side panel off that is covering the speaker. There is another good video on UA-cam that shows more detail on what to remove. Everything is held in with clips and couple small screws.
The high level inputs are spliced into the passenger side rear speaker. The remote turn on lead goes to amp. Also have to hook up ground connection which I went to the battery.
No offense but way too much chatter/fluff, and start at one end and flow through to the last end. Jumps around too much. Start at the battery for example and follow it back to the subwoofer, something like that. Linear.
Rattle comes from rear speaker deck plate. Try pushing up on plate while bass is playing

2023 ...I'm install on a 2019 ss ..thank u ..sir 🫡🫡
Rear deck lid mine does the same just dyno mat it
That is hooked up to the factory radio? I love that hood . Is it wrapped or carbon fiber hood?
Yes get signal from factory rear speakers. The hood is the factory Camaro 1LE wrapped hood.
Dose your batter die at all bc I kinda have the same set up but every now and then my car won’t start
My battery would drain before I put a system in. If it's going to sit a while I usually just hook up a trickle charger.

I will have too maybe for just the random pop issue. It's very faint when the radio comes on and off but I notice it.
Your sooooooooo close to 3hundred, I hope you get 3hundred soon :)
Right! Thanks man! It sure is fun watching this channel grow. Slow but none the less. More coming as well with tuning and more driving!
can you explain which wires in the door panel you tap into? I haven’t done it yet. but is there 2 or 4 wires in the door speaker harness?

I used an automatic turn on that senses when speaker wires turn on, and then turns amp on.

So did you tie in the left and right positive & negative wires from the converter if though you ran them to one side?
Yep. You don't get right and left channel on the sub then but that is usually how I do it and it never bothers me or even notice it.
I’m having trouble getting the loc converter to turn on my amp any idea what it can be
Yeah I had the same issue right away. Make sure you hook up the ground connection wire on the LOC. I didn't do that right away and my amp wouldn't turn on.
How u get the speeker box in the trunk tho? Kuz I have 2 12's in a prefab subwoofer box an im not trying to buy another subwoofer box
I measured before I bought the box and it fits going through the rear seat opening.
@@EssMotorsports ok
can i use this set up in a 2022 1ss 1le
Yeah there should be no reason u couldn't. I'm assuming the 1SS 1LEs still don't have an factory amp like mine didn't. 👍
Which is the positive and negative on the speaker wire. Yellow and green wire with black stripe
I cannot remember, I'm sure I used a multi-meter and tested it to figure it out.
@@EssMotorsports did you hook the blue wire to the battery? My amp seems to not shut off when I do that
If your using the same kicker product there is a wiring diagram on the back of it. The blue wire is the amp turn on and the black wire was for ground.
Subscribed bro
Thanks! Appreciate the support!
May I recommend the audio control lc2i if you want a better signal for your bass as it is an active (Powered) line converter
I have seen a lot of people use that. I will have to check it out.

No. I have a slight pop on startup and shutdown but it's not that noticeable. Check ground wires etc. Make sure your not chasing wiring issue first.
