FBody Fuel Tank Vent Valve Replacement
I have these for my CT4-V. They're not as large as these but bigger than those on that Camaro. Both the CT4-V and CT5-V Blackwing owners manuals state that these deflectors are for track use only. Here's the blurb from the CT5-V manual: "These parts are for track use only. After track events, reinstall the original front and rear rotor shields and remove the rear lower control arm cooling deflectors."
I can see why they say that. Scoops do hang down an 1" below control arms. Not good when trying to miss roadkill.
Can you run that exact same line output converter to the stock subwoofer?
How bad does the 4 inch drone ?
@mfultz403 not too bad with it going out the back. At 2500 to 3000 highway it's got a lot of volume but idk if I'd say drone
@EssMotorsports thanks man I have had a few exhaust set ups over the years and now I am thinking about going with a single 4 inch single over the duals
@@mfultz403 i would definitely do it again. I like how it hides away. Sounds menacing as well
Do it!
@QA1TECH Hahaha waiting on U to place my order! 😁
Nice. Just subscribed. Watched a few of your vids last week. Wanting to do this setup too. Intake/TB; Speed Engineering 1-7/8/ X pipe / secondary cat delete with use of remaining factory NPP and a Cold Air Inductions. What's your thoughts? I can do the work except the tune. Will need to get a tune somewhere. Am i missing something or going the wrong direction? Any thoughts on HP /TQ gains. Guessing 65/50 ???? Thanks!
@keithcastleberry3993 Thank you for the support! That's really my setup, just bolt ons which with the headers makes the car so much more engaging to drive! The sound! U can bypass the TB if on budget, that is more for throttle response. Not really hp. But that would be a good setup. Will need Halo brace underbody crossmember to clear xpipe. Just make sure to tie wire harness on passenger side away from header otherwise it touches and burns through
Owned my 15 Sierra since new and had no idea the flap was there..5 min and a #6 1.5 in machine screw later. mod done. THANKS !
@@445xone Right! So easy for decent change!
Can anybody elaborate or explain the wiring changes needed. I prefer to not cut up my factory harness, but if there is a plug n play adapter harness...great. Is this what was running from the passenger side OVER the intake to the driver side??
@keithcastleberry3993 i think your referring to the MAP extension wires. There is a link in the description that is the part u need to extend wires to other side of the intake manifold.
Just put the sub frame connectors in
This is definitely my next mod, it look so much better and less cheap than the black plastic one.
@@benjaminpp4735 it does enhance the interior a lot!
Thank you for this video. You literally took all of the guess work out. Im dropping a 4.8 in my 88 firebird. The accessory belt definitely was my biggest concern. Finding one that would fit
@@stargazingdemigod Glad it could help with your build!
@ thank you. Question, idk if you covered it in one of your videos. So with the ls swap , can we get rid of the charcoal canister?
@stargazingdemigod i deleted that 20 years ago! Haha, fuel tank still needs a vent to relive pressure or pull air in. I can't even remember where it was connected. But the ls doesn't need it
@ 🤣🤣🤣 I get that. I've only had my firebird for a year and everything in there was still stock. But it's time for the old 305 to go.
@@stargazingdemigod I remember the 305, drove it like that for 9 years ... definitely don't wait as long as I did to add some HP
Did it fix the problem ?
@haydenrichardp3712 it ended up being a stuck exhaust soloinoid valve
Excellent video. Good details and well done, indeed. You did not waste my time.
@@joeblow1688 Thank you! 🙏
where did you get that wideband gauge mount?
@@timothyberlinski2299 ua-cam.com/video/X53zL7At1v4/v-deo.html
Does it push through the converter at idle ? What rpm are you idling at? Thanks. Looking at the 278mm HP 3200 for my truck
@kcadventure-m3u what cam? The 278mm 3200 would be great. Mine is 300mm 3000k, it does not push and I'm idling at 825 which is high. I could lower it but I also want as much vacuum for brakes. Will eventually probably set to 800 once my idle airflow is dialed in. Which will screw it up but only a little.
@kcadventure-m3u a little more stall wouldn't hurt but the 300mm hp was a more budget version
Did you have to use spacers for that water pump or swap the pulley?
@luiscarrasquillo9743 yes, spacer link should be in the description. With the LS1 water pump u space it out to match the longer truck accessories.
@ thank you my LS Brother lol
Is it just me or does it sound better and louder before?
Cool merch? Really?
Mine has stock 305😬 maybe one day I can get it a better performance engine it’s an 1985
@@mindblown5563 LS power is lightyears ahead of 305. Changes the entire car experience
@@EssMotorsports yes my 02 1500 has the 5.3 vortec and when I drive my truck rather than car I feel fast asf😂😂

@@lorileohner807 What?
You didn’t install anything the entire video
Maybe you shouldn't skip through and u would see the process...
Thank you for making this, I was going crazy trying to get my battery out! Never had a car with the battery in the trunk before and I was trying to work around the carpet liner like a dummy lol
The new battery comes with a red positive cover, includes a red plug for the right side vent hole. The left hole, you have to reuse the 90 degree elbow and tube from the OEM battery.
I wonder how many people do not know about this, so many of these trucks out there, gmc and Chevy this should be knownnn, I figured out I had one today😭
@xxonexx471 right! So easy to make it sound like an actual truck!
What years does this apply to?
Are you sure those are 13in rotor. When I look up c5 Corvette breaks. 12in is what pops up?
@geomonge4230 they are like 12.8 and it's the z51 package I believe. It was the performance option for C6 not C5
@EssMotorsports kk. I see. Thank you
Just saying ! You really want the back presser as the 4 cyl mode give less exhaust and gets you higher gas mileage rather then popping or getting less hp on the less cyl's. Dose sound better but more open exhaust get poor mileage because we can't help stepping on it even tho we do pull a bit more power in open thro. You want tone open the muffler up is better, not free but better. But thanx for the info if you wanted louder it's a win.
@@djweszone or..... hear me out. Disable 4 cylinder mode 🤣 fuel milage is negligible from what I've seen driving normally. No impacts
I have been running a 174 degree thermostat in my 2017 3500hd 6.0 and it actually keeps the engine running at about 176 degrees. Love it. The gauge cluster shows about the same position as the stock one which ran at 198 but you can see the real temp in a scanner. Huge improvement, keeps everything in the engine bay cooler and ensures better longevity for all the electronics on the engine!
I did one under the hood to the driver side front header bolt to the inner fender well. I also did one from the Bell housing to that extra ground stud. I did another one in the trunk off the battery to the body in my car does not get that slow crank no more that everybody thought was the starter being heat soaked.
I donnot need to do that..I have a 2023 chevrolet silverado mine has a 5.3L engine and mine sound better
GM calls for ATF Dexron III. I'm not so sure about that fluid removal if using real manual tranny oil. ATF apparently expands under high heat needing room for that. Tremec says no need to short fill.
2 hats sweatshirt
What’s the torque converter on it like?
@Anthony-vd4yo it's good, definitely acceptable but if id do it over i might end up going with a smaller diameter converter to flash slightly higher. It is a lower cost option that works well
Can you tell me where you got the black emblem on the rear? 0:42
@honduchi i have a video on replacing them. I think it was just an Amazon purchase. Look for vid. Should have a link
WHO COULD HAVE SEEN THIS COMING? THEY'RE LITERALLY THE REASON THE HELLCAT DIED.
how you got the wires into the ac ill never know. im not sure if it pop off or if you drilled it
There is a seam that the dash nests in. It just pushes out of the way. If u take it apart u will see.
did you get your intake manifold ported ?
@_vxfrs na supposedly doesn't pick up a lot. Not really worth it
What belt tensioner is that?
I added a link to the description, I originally got a LS1 tensioner, but then added an LS2 higher lip pulley later. So I suggest just getting the LS2 tensioner to begin with.
No understanding where you tie in the remote

Great Video i am considering doing this , how is ground clearance on ... thanks
@lysawy82 actually better than duals cause the 4" tube tucks up in the tunnel slightly.
@lysawy82 only thing id change is id probably use an oval muffler. Round one is LOUD! Haha
Thanks you laud is good 👍 how is the clearance by the trans oil pan , i scrape my speed eng. Y pipe at times... actually i was thinking going black widow round muffler...
@lysawy82 if u haven't checkout my latest video. I do some pulls. Car screams! Ground clearance isn't bad by trans crossmember but u need either a hawks crossmember or holley to really better your ground clearance. It allows u to tuck pipes closer
Roger that i have my 95.camaro.lt1 in garage for winter so doing some updates thank you again
Hey what are you going to be using the car for? Im having trouble choosing a cam and cant decide if this cam you have is too big for me.
@burgerzz09s51 street driver. As long as the combination is good it's great. What is your build specs? Trans?
@@EssMotorsports I have a 3rd gen too. I don't have anything yet just like to pick out all my parts way in advance. gonna most likely be a 6.0l ls with 799 heads. t56 trans and 3.42 gears in the rear. trying to be a street car too.
@@EssMotorsports might have to put in a 4l80e in first though. for money sake.
@burgerzz09s51 so the Big part is having a stall converter if it's auto. Which converters are not cheap so manual is little more expensive but not double. But with manual then this cam would a good choice. My buddy is 6.0 swapping his 91 GTA right now and I suggested the BTR Hot Rod cam which is one step smaller. But it's only like 7 hp difference from what I've seen on dyno testing over on Richard Holderners channel.
Lettss goooo! Dude that thing sounds awesome. You know that cop was eyeing you 😂
Thanks man! It rips hard. Camera doesn't do it justice, crazy to say but i think it's faster than Camaro from a roll. 4L80 shifts fast plus lighter car.
Like what your doing with the Trans Am. Keep up the good work. I feel the same way about my TA vs the 1LE. The TA is slap you in the face, where as the 1LE is a great car but more refined. Love them both and glad to be able to have both.
@bobbyprd The manual 1LE is such a joy to drive. If I didn't have that i would have manual swapped the car. But the 4L80e shifts so fast! Totally changed the car with this powertrain
you still have the car?
O yeah. I'm not selling it, too good of a car!
@ headers still holding up and sounding good? Is it a daily driver?
@VolumeUP_Performance headers have been great! It isn't a daily tho, put 2k + miles on this year
I never thought I would have to do all that when I bought my Camaro. I love my Camaro but it takes a while to go through all that
Forgot the vent tube!! Necessary!!
Idk why people say this. It's an AGM battery, there is no port that actually vents. The port was there but it was solid/plugged.
WHAT IF U DONT HAVE A HARNESS CAN U STILL DO IT?
@elmaxxx2276 if u buy the kit it comes with a harness. U could make your own wiring, wouldn't be too hard. But the kit makes it easy
@@EssMotorsports mine unfortunately came without one from eBay. Could you briefly explain how I can make my own
Not something that can be easily explained how to make a wire harness. I would find the gm directions for the kit and u will have to splice all your own wires
