he'll hate that memory when he gets his heart broken
I Lmao for hrs. That's the only reason not to want that memory.
thats morbid and mean and i question your motive as being insecure
Hence why I am MGTOW since 2017. HSAM blessed here, and feemale cursed after so much experience$ with woemen. I accept it.
Wow this comment hit. I have this condition too, and I always felt so lucky... until I got my heart broken. It’s been absolutely agonizing so this comment is super relatable
No one forgets that moment
its just buried inside.
Jake: *has super memory*
Also Jake: *forgets to do homework*
relateable
Most underated comment ever !! I cry!😂
"forgets" more likes doesn't want to remember
Teacher: Sorry Jake, that doesn't apply to you.
lol
WHY DOES NO REPORTERS ASK WHAT THEIR EARLIEST MEMORY IS!? UUUUUGHHHH
Aiden yeah, he probably remembers his birth vividly, whereas my earliest memory based on a fixed date was at 25 months, so I cannot say it was a vivid memory.
@@SYDAirlineEnthusiast no. He only started remembering this vividly from around age 8.
The Gornlord what was his earliest memory that was not vivid then?
It is different with each person who has Hyperthymesia.. mine was 3 months
Marilu Henner claims to remember being baptized. She was three weeks old.
I wonder with such perfect memory, to the point where you remember the sense of touch and smell, how easy it must be to get lost in the past. Like, at that point, how do you distinguish the past from the present if you're reliving the past as if it just happened?
Alright, cool thoughts, im out
i could keep a count on how many times i spelt pornhub wrong on google search
At times it's hard. I'll remember something from 8 years ago, but if I forget what year it was, then it's hard for me to guess/estimate because it feels no different than what happened last month
because the now is always more intense. a long term vivid memory in pictures scenes and smells and touch is not the same as the now. Its very close though. You can tell the past from the present because the past is stored vs the now is happening now. Many people with long term memory DO remember the touches and its hard. Many get depressed and turn to drugs for an escape. You only go down memory lane if you decide to unless you cant controll it or something sparks a memory. I can control mine. What i cant control is thinking in 100% pictures from the past but the now is just the camera.
@@jameshughes131 and what about knowledge? Are you interested in learning history or geography? And what about the news? Do you frequently read the newspaper? Sorry I'm just so curious... I imagine you must be very knowledgeable (if you are interested in those fields) and you could become a professor (if we add pedagogical skills), a researcher, etc. Obviously memory isn't the only skill you need, but you have that "advantage" that is hypermemory :)
I know one such person. He remembers people by their car numbers and vice versa for all the 5000+ cars registered in our town.
Even police calls him after accidents to find out whose car it was.
He does not save any number to his phone. You tell the number to him once and he remembers it forever. He simply dials from his memory.
He never got recognition as we live in a small city.
Dude this era is of internet, do share in multiple social media platforms.
that's so badass

it's a curse. imagine the death of your parents 20 years ago and it feels like yesterday. there's a reason why we forget

I love the last part " I can do that"
Why arent these people geniuses? I mean, they could remember every applicable formula they ever learned in math classes to any situation. They could recite any law, even if they just read 1 page a day from a law book. Why arent this people millionaires? Or are they?
They probably are, and from what I understand it's extremely rare, like almost non-existent. Not even people who get medals for Olympic memory have photographic memory.
Memory isn't all there is to intelligence either. You can have perfect photographic memory, but you might not be able to process the information you've learned in a meaningful way or you can be cognitively impaired while still having perfect memory.
Savants cannot sustain themselves. They usually need caregivers, and struggle to function in a workplace. Kim Peek had a memory like this boy and couid name the postcode of any street in the US. Yet he struggled with simple mathematics.
The NSA dont need these people and computers store information now.
Lastly, Savants struggle with recognizing social cues, and are highly susceptible to being taken advantage of.
Sometime most gift ppl become lazy becuz they rely on their talent and know nth gonna go wrong anyways. If u look at some millionair. They never want to be millionair in the first place, they just wanna survive and found the thing they like. And it all start with struggle. These ppl dont struggle, dont fear or need to care too much. So they dont less thing.
Compare japanese to cambodia.
Japanese always face natural disaster which lead them to develop smart brain to counter the disaster. They can fix road or stuff within days . Why ? Becuz they need to and it becone a talent. While Cambodian dont suffer any natural disaster are develop slower instead.
Sorry for my bad english.
You can memorize, but if memorize plus understand makes ur memory last longer, u can have a photographic memory ,but you dont learn things
The same reason our kids are idiots they have idiots teachers,
85% who get a degree but have an average IQ of less than 100. psych stats
having just one very awkward interaction could absolutely destroy this kid's life lmao
I CANT EVEN REMEMBER WHAT I DID YESTERDAY
i cant remember shit, i took me 4 months to remember my combination to my locker senior year.
Memory is like a muscle even for people with hyperthymesia as far as the frontal lobe is concerned. after 2years though it goes to the subconscious and they can remember everything. Do a Lifeline personal counselling course and you will have very good frontal lobe (recent) memory..
Hyperthymesia, also known as piking or hyperthymestic syndrome, is a condition in which an individual possesses a superior autobiographical memory, meaning he or she can recall the vast majority of personal experiences and events in his or her life.
HSAM FUR SHORT!!
Awesome Jake! Can't wait to watch it this Sunday :) xoxo Aunt Chrissy
they're all like "yes yes it's like you're there it's all there" and jakes just like "I can do that."
I have it. never knew it was strange that I remember the house I lived in when I was 1 ~ 2 years old, the crib I slept in, the odd scratches on certain parts of it, the neighbors' red van, the white rocks on their driveway, the elementary school across the street, what all the other houses down the street looked like.
Ooh can you tell me more? It's really interesting to see stuff like that.
Use it for the good.. do as much research you can!!
I have it too. My husband is the one who pointed it out. So I decided to look into it and I found this video. When I was a kid people would say “ are you a robot?”😂
I have a memory from when I was 13 months old. But most of the memories are from 2 years old and forward. My husband thinks this is also why I tend to get anxious easily or be resentful since I tend to remember many details.
Whereas a person who doesn’t, can easily forget and not have fear as a way to survive or be easily resentful since they can forget most things.

i actually had incredible memory at the age of 8 to 16 but now i am 31 and it is slowly fading away.
it may not be a gift but a curse - some memories are best left forgotten.
Wow, I wish I had that kind of memory! I'd like to see how this affects their work life. What kind of careers do these types of people have? If they can remember everything it seems like they could choose which profession they would like to have so long as they're physically, or mentally capable of doing the job.
Solomon Kane The Americans with Disabilities Act is the reason. if they hire you it's nearly impossible for them to fire you. Not that you would get fired but they'd be required to treat you with kid gloves.
It depends on outlook!! It's like your brain goes on autopilot
Believe me you don’t
It's an exceptional ability but jobs have different requirements than just memorising things. Reasoning & calculative aptitude is more preffered.
The mind has a tendency to think about the negative things... some think this an evolutionary characteristic to basically keeps us safe and alive. Luckily we forget.. just imagine being able to remember everything. I would not want this at all. I meditate almost daily and make an effort to live in the present and leaving the past. I would not want to be able to recall it all like this. I think it would be very difficult to have mental peace with so much information available for your mind to explore.
At the end the boy's just like " I can do that......"
They can all do that HAHAHA they're the gifted ones

Remembering everything to the most obscure lore bits to things, mass amounts of dates, mass amounts of names, birthdays, anneversaries, all of those are fine to remember. However once you get into things like remembering past trauma, and being able to remember every bit, it gets sickening sometimes.
But you don't have to dwell or focus on them, or get caught up in them. You can consciously choose what to focus on.
“ I might not remember everything, but I know what love is “
I guess I'm not the only one who has a memory like that.
They're gifted
I have a photographic memory. I remember seeing Shrek 2 in May 21st, 2004 with my dad. It was in the afternoon. I got a small popcorn and the previews attached to it are Shark Tale and The Incredibles.
It's a gift and a curse at the same time. I'd rather call it "not being able to forget syndrome."
everyone has a gift but never activated it in their mind but he has,
Bingo. 3rd Eye aka Pineal Gland to Awaken your Soul & god-given gifts from birth. :)
xD. Noooooo. They were just born with specific DNA that made a specific memory keeping part of their brain much bigger than average. There's nothing spiritual about it.
@@cherry.berry2 and why were they born with that specific DNA?
@@wazup3333 Mutations, luck of recessive genes lining up.
Ok now you're going to ask where you get that luck, and I'm going to tell you it's natural random luck. This is extremely rare anyways.
I'm also going to ask you where the extremely-devoted to God person who got hit by a car and died (because that must've happened at least one) got their luck.
But you can keep your religious views, I'm just saying.
What an amazing gift they have.
I have gifts to but I cant tell or my life will go upside down and sideways.
Their condition is called HSAM (Highly Superior Autobiographical Memory) but they don't have much memory outside of their own personal life, they aren't able to remember a string of words any more than anyone else for example
With HSAM comes the ability and the exhaustion of remembering other people's lives. From my friend's schedules to those I don't even know so well; I used to think it was normal to remember what they had done on a certain day or what they had worn or eaten. But you're right. If you handed me a page of math problems and their answers I wouldn't remember that 15 seconds later!
That makes sense! This is me! I always shrugged it off because if I’m under pressure on a exam, I wouldn’t be able to remember things😂
Bro dont do anything wrong towards him he'll nvr forget what you did... 😂😂
In the words of Scar: "Life isn't fair"
Wow that kind of sucks....I'm glad I can forget and move forward with life...they seem happy on television, but I would assume that could be annoying having to dwell on the past for the rest of your life...but I'll never know unless I heard that directly from their mouths.
We should bully him and teach him a lesson he will forget..
I have something similar with super memory if that's not it. I sometimes think of memories that can be years old and mention details that no one else remembers, It's usually just completely unnecessary things to keep in mind while I don't remember important educational things, does that sound familiar to anyone?????
I have CRS like many senior citizens.
Had I had such memory I had cured my problem.
I memorised a whole Library ....... it was called The Carnagie Library....in Utah.
I spent 3 months and read the entire classics section at the local UNI. Speed reading courses work..
Painful memories would be hurtful won’t go away
I believe they are tapping into their souls ability....I believe our soul can remember everything we experience like a movie being recorded... It's like when someone gets a near death experience and they say they saw their WHOLE life flash before their eyes in just a moment of time, same capability.
Do they have it indexed by date or can they remember it based on just about anything related to it?
He must flow through school
Do they only have this type of recall for memories and dates? Can they memories entire textbooks too for example?

It's so mind boggling that anyone's heads can hold that vast amount of info!!! And thousands of times the average person's memory. Sooo freaky and I am jealous!
MUTANTS! and so the brotherhood begins
Imagine him now
Actually possessing such a memory can be bad because people like that can confuse reality with imagination and vice versa. Most people who have superb memory also have a perfect imagination. Memories usually have taste, color, and smell to them. Now imagine eating a poisonous food that would taste really bad to a normal person while imagining a bar of chocolate. In this case a person will think that the poisonous food tastes like chocolate therefore it is good. Sometimes it is hard to differentiate reality and imagination for these people. That's why humans have evolved forgetfulness so that we could function better in real world.
Schizohprenia.
True but how sick would that be
Well, it may not be true for the people in this documentary because they have a compulsive disorder, but in people who have synesthesia that's what happens.
This actually seems like an abnormal disorder than a gift, I don't think I'd want this it sounds like a curse and not a blessing. I'm thankful I have a normal memory range I get through life well enough.
@@hornhub5438 It’s not really that abnormal. It’s extremely rare because our brain filters out all of the memories and other useless information that we don’t need. They don’t have that filter.
The worst part is when he walks in on his parents.
Nah.. my wife have also that kind of gift. She remember every small mistake i did.. even 6years ago.. 😂
I wonder if there's a down side. How much storage capacity does the human brain have?

There is a formula to quickly calculate days of the week based on the calender, it's very easy and super fast, it's nothing special.
He’s 17 now wow
I forget what movie or show it was in, but it was kind of creepy when they were talking about remembering being in the womb of their mother… I know it’s fake but it would be really cool to know their earliest recorded memory
There's an easy way to calculate the day of the week for that date in your head.
Modular arithmetic my friend
And to think this child might be like 17 now

FWIW My memory comes back in this way when I've been seriously involved in certain types of meditation (especially vipassana). I can think of a time, even decades ago, and it is alive, like I'm there. It's very vivid, to the point of being not only just as real as it was at the time, but I would say even more so. It's very vivid and present.
Usually I don't have this ability.
Certain types of meditation heighten or intensify attentiveness or awareness. And they quiet down the miscellaneous chatter in the mind. They do both.
Child's name?
Im just wondering if they remember being in the womb
I don't think I think I can say I have a "photographic" memory but I do have an unusually good memory. As did my father and his. My IQ as of a test I took last year was 136 (not that it matters but I mention it as it may have something to do with it) But It is truly a curse. There's so many things in life I find most people can forget about, but I never forget. It's such a detriment to my mental health, and I often find myself envious of people with normal memories.
Edit: the only thing I even use it for is music lol learning/playing/reading/composing
