Bree, I started watching you as a young teenager after finding your period vlogs. I learned so much about periods and you gave me so much good advice. You almost felt like my big sister, so watching you now, about to have a baby of your own is amazing and I’m so happy for you! I wish you the best and I can’t wait to watch these videos! 💛☺️

Oh my god! What you mentioned @ 6:47- that largish white thick mucus- the SAME THING happened to me after coming off the pill and it was WILD. I was so shocked when it first happened! I unfortunately came off not because I want to experience pregnancy but because I have stress-induced high BP. So I came off the pill and the first time before I suppose I was ovulating I noticed this insane amount of thick mucus - almost like a detox- exiting my vaginal cavity. It was WILD😭 I was a bit alarmed but honestly, more fascinated 😂 it didn’t hurt and it disappeared after 2-3 days. Anyways, I had never heard of it save from a yoni steaming specialist that I follow, so this is really intriguing for me. So excited to follow you on this journey!🖤🖤🖤
Edit: What you mentioned about the Nightime anxious over analyzing; I live by the “Anything your mind tells you after 9 o’clock at night is probably not something you’ll worry about in the morning. So anytime I’m feeling like this, I just say- it’s after 9! I’ll revisit this tomorrow. & I almost ALWAYS feel a lot different/ better about it in the morning! It’s helped me a lot.

What the heck?!! I didn't realise how much time has gone by. I started watching your videos like 9yrs ago and you were a little girl. Finding your channel introduced me to menstrual cups and fabric pads, and it's been a game changer. I've seen you over the years and I guess I didn't realise you're not the little girl anymore. It's trippin me out! Wow!! Amazing 💖

Please please please be candid about the costs involved. People hate talking about money I know but there’s next to no transparent info on how much this actually costs

It’s good that they did the check for your Fallopian tubes being open before the IUI was begun! I had set up for IUI and had two months of great follicles and failed months after insem. I was then sent for the test of dye in my Fallopian tubes and found out that day that mine were scarred shut. I have no clue why or how this happened but had some bad bladder infections as a child and suspect something like that maybe affected me. Who knows but at the time it was so highly emotional to have two failed attempts and then the rest of tubes was extremely painful (I think moreso bc the doc who did it had to grasp my cervix twice which was super painful and then the dye not going through tubes hurt a lot too. I then was told this devastating news and IVF wasn’t an option financially so I had to face infertility while laying on the table being told by a male doctor who had zero bedside manner. I walked out of there shocked by the procedure’s pain and then the painful news all in one short but horrible exam room discovery.
So, having them check this first can save you on vials of sperm cost, emotions of having one or more IUI and fails if you aren’t physiologically capable. It is the most logical and safe and gentle way to see if you are ready for potential success or not and not blow even more money which for some could go towards IVF, adoption fees, surrogacy, etc.
Sounds like you did a great job learning and researching and also not putting yourself through such hell of more periods and also moving forward with your goals before your body couldn’t handle it.
I am excited for you and at the same time feel for you having morning sickness and all of that. I love love your very down to earth and REAL description even down to the cervical mucous blob that surprised you lol. I wish this kind of frank info was available to me when I was going through it and really wish I could have had the screening for tubes working before I poured my heart into the insem process and excitement and waiting and tests and then repeated extreme disappointment. (As well as money out that I wish I saved on so many visits. J had an ultrasound before each IUI procedure to be sure my follicles were numerous and big and all of that. I even took Clomid to help that process along which I could have prevented with having tubes checked first.
Super excited for you and sorry you are feeling so poorly. I hope you turn a corner in your second or third trimester and get to enjoy the process. I look forward to your great descriptive installments of the story.
Hang in there and all the preg moms I’ve seen online say to eat something small before you even get up out of bed. Keep some crackers or a granola bar or whatever stays down next to the bed and be sure to take your prenatal vitamins with food.

Super excited for you, I have twins from IUI and a sperm donor. My husband is functionally infertile so it was either that or IVF which would have cost significantly more money and I would have had to take time off work all the time to do it, which was not feasible for my job.
Something to think about now for future planning is who might be your back up support system if your parents are unavailable. I have my husband and my mom, who is retired but there’s been times when my mom got sick or something and usually what happens is I have to drop something I needed to do. Most of the time I have to call off or shorten my work shift. Luckily since you work for yourself from home, you have a lot more flexibility but I’m sure there’s times when you have something to do that you absolutely can’t take a child to. Because my kids were born a month before the pandemic, they don’t know anyone except us 3 so we really can’t leave them with anyone else and also we have no one who knows how to do our cloth diapers, so we’d have to teach whoever we’d want to watch them how to handle those as well.

What???! I haven't watched your vids in a long time, I knew you were fostering but always got the vibe you weren't going to have your own children. But I'm very happy for you and wish all the best!

I've watched you for a number of years and have no doubt you'll be a great mother. As a donor conceived person myself, I hope you will be transparent with your child about their conception and choose a donor who does not need to be anonymous. It's a very painful thing to grow up feeling like one person's possession to the exclusion of half their family.

The rubella thing is interesting! I've had the MMR as a child and when I moved to the US, I had to take it not once but twice more for occupational health reasons (working at a hospital). Each time I did a blood test, it showed that I did not have immunity for rubella . Turns out some people don't create lasting rubella antibodies when vaccinated!

I can’t wait until the next episode! Such an incredible journey you’re on. I explored this just before I turned 30yrs old. So many choices on who the donor would be, prices, the timing, etc… I’m hope that you’re doing better as your progresses. ❤️

The large thick sticky discharge is probably your body expelling a mucus plug that was blocking your cervix. I experienced the same thing and was told as such.

The mini pill works by thickening cervical mucous, the mucous is normal for those coming off the mini pill.
