    “Don’t ever make waffles at home. It’s a pain in the butt. It’s so much easier going to a restaurant and order waffles.”

    Around five minutes *taps metal part thinking it's hot* The pan wasn't plugged in, it is going to be room temperature..
    Around seven minutes *sets in sandwiches and closes THEN plugs it in* The little slip told you to preheat for 3 minutes not just to hop to it.
    Not trying to find fault here but it would be really helpful if you did he review correctly to give everyone a correct idea on how it cooks.

  • @Cheesemon0
    @Cheesemon0 14 років тому +17

    I think the reason your having to cook them for longer than usual is that the it needs to be plugged in before you start putting the food (e.g. Sandwiches) in, because it needs to preheat. That's what the lights on top of the sandwich maker are for. Its possible that this is the problem that caused the waffles not to cook properly.

    1. You should have preheated the toaster before putting the bread in.
    2. All toasters needs to be crambed down, it's easier if the toaster is hot.
    3. Maybe you're slices of bread are too thick. It's most likely designed to standard sandwichbread.

    waffel are not hard to make at home if you have good waffel iron. I previously had a bella belgium waffle maker that I had for over 5 years and recently upgraded to a kitchenaid waffel baker they both work phenomenal. but you have to follow the directions to get the best use.

  • @mrdebonville
    @mrdebonville 10 років тому +10

    I own the Big Boss Grill... the waffle batter was definitely too much, you admit to never making waffles before, so I have to wonder, did you use the directions that came with it or the ones on the box of Pancake/Waffle mix? and did you pre-heat the grill like it says to... (notice the green and red lights on the top... the green light comes on when you plug it in, the red light comes on when it's ready to use...) as for the sandwiches, you CAN use butter on the bread instead of spraying the plates, much better flavor. and for the thickness of the bread... I would suggest thinner slices of bread instead of the 2" thick slices you've used *yeah, it might be tasty bread but the machine DOES have limits...

    The fail of the waffles can have 2 reasons.
    1. You didn't preheat the Big Boss Grill. This will ofc take longer for the waffles to cook proberly
    .
    2. Opening the lid before the waffles are done (For example too early, if you forgot the preheat), makes them break appart, as the batter is still sligtly gooey and not cooked all the way through.
    I'm very sure the machine can cook waffles pretty well, if you next time remember the preheat and avoid opening the lid too early.

    • @matthewnakhla

    I face palmed this whole video.
    Read the DIRECTIONS and FOLLOW THEM.
    Otherwise, don't do ASOT videos.
    Or product reviews.
    Or any, for that matter.
    If you can't follow simple rules then don't blame the machine because you fail.

    @LukeTheLemonn Nope. I have too many products backing up. I don't do waffles. Everything else I can do in a pan. It's was a cool product, just no room or real heavy use for it. I am concerned about the coating coming off, but then again if it does then return it.

    That scratch was caused by negligence on your part. Not a coating defect.

    You got to remember that even non stick pans, or equipment usually sticks a lil. Just use some cooking oil spray and go on with your cooking. It's not going to kill you. I do it with my Foreman Grill.

    How is it hard to make waffles at home? I bought a waffle maker for $10, originally $25 but I managed to get it on sale, and it's so easy to use.

    You always have to season non-stick with oil before first use, even with professional quality brands like Fissler. If you have to spray it every time, then that's not great, but on first use it's really a sign of quality that you're even told.

      Do not buy this crap. the George Forman grills are far superior, and of much higher quality. Along with the fact that they are VERY affordable, you shouldn't mess with these imitations. Trust me, I have had one for over 2 years and it's still like the day I bought it.
