I think that you’re missing an obvious option: Tikka T3X TAC A1. Just another opinion.
I think your missing the obvious Bergara B14…
@@DirtNastyCivilian i think you're both missing another option: Lithgow LA105 Woomera
Lol fair enough.
Love my Tikka!
Tikka. Best rifle for the money highly accurate. Competes with my A I
Wish you would have just given the approximate current prices for each of these. That would have been very helpful.
Ruger Precision .308, I bought the .308 because I have 8 .308 rifles and the cost of ammo for buying in bulk for all saves me alot of money. I also bought the Ruger Precision .17HMR and .22LR for my grandkids to learn with. They like the .22LR subsonic when I put the suppressor on it.
I regularly shoot 1,000+ yards with my Savage 110 Desert Tactical chambered in 6.5CM. I’ve also done the same with my Model 70 chambered in 30-06. Today’s production rifles from any reputable manufacturer are capable of doing this when topped with a decent optic and practicing good rifle fundamentals.
How is the cycling of your Savage 110? Does the bolt stick and require a lot of effort to lift? I have yet to find a smooth cycling Savage or a solution to this.
Right on. I'm in the market for a 338 and I've been mostly set on the Ruger Precision. This just sealed the deal.
I have the Howa...VERY happy with it. Less than .5 MOA with my handloads
I shoot a Ruger Precision Rifle chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. It is a very accurate, good shooting rifle. Pair it up with Premium factory ammo, or handloads, and it will drop bullet, after bullet into the same hole all day long.
Save your money, buy a Bergara B14. Be happy.
I own a b14 HMR in 6.5 creedmoor and 300 Prc. Amazing barrel that responds well to factory ammo. But to be fair, if your chasing accuracy, save your money on a rifle, spend your money on reloading. Make anything shoot lights out with development.
Long range shooting outfit in TX mentioned the Bergara as his #1
I agree 100% I have à HMR in 308 targets up to 1200m Steel plate 300x300 no problem.
Great review.
I have the Tikka Tac in 6.5 creed and it is spot on. Tikka's are known for their accuracy and the bolt is butter smooth.
The bolt is butter smooth? Test the Bolt from the Anschütz APR and you will know what butter smooth mean.
There's always soemthing better, but not at the same cost. The TIkka is less money.@@ottomais
@@mountainskyaerialphotograp3921 I agree with you, the Tikka is one of the best rifel in this price range. Maybe the Sabbati is on the same level.
I have a ruger PRC in .308 and I like it very well.
Savage 10 BA 6.5 Creedmoor!, it works like a champ!
Glad to see you mentioned the Ruger Hawkeye 300 WM in a more traditional package. Mine is teamed with a Steiner T5Xi 5-25X56 with the Steiner SCR Reticle.
Barrett. 50. Ruger Presicion 338 Best I Know Of !
I got the Ruger precision rifle 300WINMAG your number 1 choice lol didn't want to get a new caliber while the ammo shortage was hitting hard so I went with 300wm or else I would have got the 338 lapua
My long-range gun is a custom-built 30 338 Win Mag 29 inch bull barrel tank style muzzle brake absolutely awesome gun
I am a B&T user almost exclusively. But this great video especially with regard to ruger percision has me wanting to use it with the 338
Such a ridiculously low price. I have to give is a try.
Thanks.
The perfect precision budget combo is still a Howa 1500 action in a Boyds Pro Varmint stock routinely. Couple of hondos for heavy barreled action and Boyds stock can't be beat for budget precision ELR shooting ... the TC is a close second! Budget combo in 308 makes for classic daily trainers you can knockaround while having fun out over a mile! And don't forget the all time favorite Remington 700, manufactured for more than 50 years and still in production today, it's remains more than capable long range rifle action.
WOW !
Some Awesome Hareware
WOW !
Amazingly Beautiful Guns !
I used to hand load most of my rounds
(9mm,41M,44M,)
(223,270,30-06,300 Win.Mag etc)
My 300 Win. Mag
with 165 gr boat tail
I would warm up at 1,800 - 2,400 yards and I was hitting target 🎯 at 2,600 yards
Respectfully Elbert Wayne Dulworth
Ruger Precision Rifle, 6.5 Creedmoor .078 inch group at 100 yards
I also would not pick the 6.5 if big game hunting is part of the purpose. 300 Norma, 300RUM, 300WM, 416B, 338LM are all better choices for hunters. 7mm and 8mm could be with better bullet selection. 50BMG is very slow and drops faster. 30 cals are much more versatile. 160gr 300Norma to 245 gr of the same has a lot of options.
300 prc
They’re all good! Sig has another Cross derivative that’s more of a precision shooter. Tough to decide which round to chamber. The 277 fury isn’t out yet. So I’d go with 300 win mag or 338 lapua which means the Ruger precision. TC website seems to be off - not showing rifles. Tikka is another good one and GAP too. Don’t forget those beautiful Woox stocks. They look so cool. 😎
amazing great new song bubba and putting struggle on it just makes it fire
Savage in 6.5 Creedmoor
Remember, Carlos "White Feather" Hathcock used an off-the-shelf, wood stock Winchester Mod 70 30-06 and an off-the-shelf Redfield scope to tally most of his kills in Vietnam. The military chose 300 Norma Mag, not 300 Win mag.
The military "as in SOCOM" chose the 300 Norma Mag. The 300 win mag is very popular elsewhere in the military.
Ruger didn't have the precision 300 mag out yet lol
That's only half correct I'm a marine corps PIM and was stationed at camp Geiger School of infantry the Marine Corps choice in long distance shooting is winchester.308 I'm sure now it has changed to something faster and harder hitting but for most part it was for years the .308 I knew Carlos Hathcock outstanding Marine and even finer individual RIP retired Master Gunnery Sergeant (Thomas) Semper Fi
I was so happy to see my Ruger Precision 308 #1 on your list. I haven’t been fortunate enough to shoot the other ones on the list, however the RP is my favorite and it’s dead on accurate. Amazingly accurate…and such a pleasure to shoot (with the right optics). Thanks for the other suggested rifles on this list. One of them caught my eye and I’m gonna have to go and get one 😬
The same for me! So happy to see my RPR! Mine is in 308win. Friendly from France.
@@kiskasolnychka7374 Nice! Keep on enjoying it as will I 😬
Thank, long life to you, and good shoot!@@DamageLLC
@@kiskasolnychka7374 👍🏼
what optics are you using?
3:36 the Steyr is from Austria, not from Germany! Only the first series of them where build by the company Fortmeier, which is a german company.
This review is a big BS anyway
I shoot the Savage model 110 338Lapua magnum in a MDT LSS XL chasse & ported
Accuracy International / Daniel Defense Delta 5 Pro?
I love my tight twist 223 for a coke cam at 1000 yards. I recon a 22-250 shooting 88gn projies would be even better.
The Barrett mrad is the best one,it's a very accurate rifle, and the barrel and chamber can be removed to shoot a bigger or smaller round.
I use the savage 110BA stealth, shoots out 1000 yards with no problem. If my eyes could keep up with it, it could go out further. Getting old sucks.
I have a Ruger Precision in 6.5 Creedmoor. I love the way it shoots. The only thing, rifle, scope, and bipod, makes it kind of heavy as the rifle is not a lightweight in the beginning
Rather have bought a Howa or Bergara?
@steffeness1 your choices are yours and mine are mine.
@@carlcopeland608 Q remains, are you satisfied with the Ruger Precision or is their a more accurate rifle out there at a similar cost?
Lets just say, shooting mid grade ammo for best possible accuracy?
@@steffeness1 I am very satisfied with it. Similar cost rifles are about the same accuracy. Or at least that's what the reviews say. Let's just say that I am happy with it. No matter the ammo. Since I am a target shooter, I use mostly match grade Hornaday. I have shot other ammo for comparison and to build ballistic tables.
@@carlcopeland608 What MOA did you find when shooting mid grade to low grade ammo?
The differences should be better than an AR in Low, Mid & High grade ammo?
I get it! The bergara premier lrp 2.0 missed your radar, forgiveness is my strong point 😅
Ruger Precision 300 win!!
The Ruger Precision rifle in 308 is an excellent choice for those of us that don't have a Trust Fund or an unlimited fund bank account. Great video...
Number 1 should be:
Kimber Advanced Tactical II 8400 .300 Win. Mag 27″ Barrel
I’m kind of surprised that the Chey Tac M200 Intervention didn’t make your list.
For the money go find your local precision smith and build your own. Pick your action, pick your barrel, pick everything. Way better.
My go to gun has ben a Rem 700 in 22-250 with a Slim barele. I have a Zeiss 3x12x56 illuminated. This is a tack driver. I limited my shots to 360 to 400 yds for this gun.
I picked up a Savage 110 FCP LE in 308. I put a Zeiss 2x10x42 with a Rapid Z 600yd scope. I was unsure about the gun but my gun dealer said it is a good accurite rifele. For $1200. So I got it and am very happy with it.
Lots of people get nice rifeles like this then put a $300 POS scope on it. They wonder why it won't track well. They do not return to zero. And so on.
I tell them spend the money on a Good Scope $2000 to $3000 you will be happy. All so never sell a gun with a scope like this on it. The scope should be with you for life.
Sorry to say they don't listen and are stuck in the same old rut.
Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreseated.
Your right can’t get a great rifle and then cheap out on the scope. It doesn’t work like that if you can’t afford it this isn’t the hobby for you. Just buy a cheap 500 Ar and put a cheap red dot and that’s sufficient for home defense.

Thanks.
My friend had a $1300 Leopold the other day and my $700 Trijicon smoked it
@@JoseTorres-fi2wp
That's way cool. I just got a Rock River Arms Predator Fred Eicler AR. I have a Zeiss 3x18x50 scope on it. This has become my new Truck Gun. It will hold 1" at 200yds. This is a fantastic CYOATY & wild Pig gun.
@@tripleffarms2872
That's way cool.
I have the howa 1500 .308 in a oryx chassis with custom muzle break fitted. I just put a vortex venom 5x25x56 scope on it and using 168 grain hornady match bthp projectiles with a 45 grain load in starline brass. Very happy with the rifle,no problem hitting 800 yard targets with good groupings averaging 2 moa. Using 2208 ADI powder in Australia as thats all thats available currently ive found 45 grains is the sweet spot leaving the muzzle @ 2800 fps.
I had a 1500 in 30-06 back in the 80's I got at a Longs Drug Store. It had a wonderfull gun department. I think I paid $399 for this rifele. It had GORGUS Black Walnut stock with high cheek pice. I put a 2x7 Lupold on this rifele. I took so much game with this rifele I can't rember it all. Anyway a great gun. Wish I still had it. The blueing on this gun was beautfull. I am stop kicking myself in the ass. My buddy Gewilliam glass beded it. You could slip 3 one dollar bills between the barele and stock. At 100yds on a cold first shot I could hit a quarter most evry time. That's sitting with my off arm resting on my knee. No bench. Back then my Cowboy hat made great rest when nessary.
I use 180 grain Hornady SST with 42 grains of Varget.
@@brianwallebeck1906 Its been over 2 years now since we haven't been able to buy large rifle primers here in Australia, i went to our local gun shop yesterday to put a permit to aquire a ruger precision. 22 rifle and the gun shop owner is saying still no primers till 2025 ??? Its bloody ridiculous, i cant afford to buy factory .308 ammo as its $48.00 a box of 20 ! So im shooting .22 calibre now and looks like i will be for a while.
@badger james
The Roger precision. 22 is a pretty darn good training rifle
@@brianwallebeck1906 i have a savage a22r repeater which is a very accurate rifle for a semi-automatic ( lever release because here in Australia were not allowed semi-automatic firearms unless you own handguns) and my wife has the ruger precision. 22 which im very impressed with,so much so ive ordered on myself.
I have the RPR .338 Lapua Magnum. Only fired 10 rounds as they cost me $10 per round... here in Australia. Apart from that, when i fired her, 30 seconds later my mates neighbours a several hundred meters away called him to ask "what the fu$k was that!?"
She is like a canon going off!
Do your masters in Australia say that you can't own a .50 BMG or larger caliber?
I thought I heard that somewhere before.
I'm not an aussie, so I'm ignorant of the gun laws/government threats there.
I'm glad to see you're not an anti-gun moron, mate.
I'm surprised that Accuracy International AXMC didn't make the list. Especially since it comes in 308 & 338 lapua. Simple barrel swap and mag reducer and good to go. Pricey, but ready at all times.
Purchased the ruger precision 338 Lapua. Honestly thought it would kick a heck of a lot more than what it did .it's quite a joy to shoot. But not at almost $6 a round . It actually cost less to shoot a 50 caliber BMG
Reload. It’s. A. Lot. Cheaper
@@amyphillips3691 Even the reload brass is $5 for the good stuff $4 for the not so good stuff. It's just an expensive weapon to shoot
@@nowherespecial6780 exactly, thats why i went with the howa 1500 in .308 win. My reloads cost me approximately 80 cents each. I use starline brass, hornady match 168 grain projectiles, federal match 210 primers and ADI 2208 powder.

I have the 6.5, yet currently I'm not able to use it to its full potential since the furthest I can shoot is 300 yards...
@@leroygrant7635sounds like you need to get the basics down… that gun is a tac driver out to 600 with basic skills and hits 18” steel at a 1000 with ease with some shooting experience. Plenty of long range videos on here with great instructions on how to improve your shooting.
@@ryanlewis5072 you own the Ruger Precision? In what caliber?
Does the weight help with accuracy? Vs a lighter Bergara, Howa or Tikka?
I'd rather shoot mid grade ammo out of a gun that gives me more accuracy if their is such a gun?
@@steffeness1 I own the RPR in 300 win but have a buddy who owns his in 6.5 CM. He shoots factory bulk ammo out of his when he hit the range most of the time because he has yet to get into reloading and does not want to spend 2$ a round on match grade 6.5 CM. He has no issues making the proper adjustments on the gun to take it out to 1000 with it. The weight is a bit up there definitely compared to those other rifles, but helps with recoil if youre going for a larger caliber round like the 300 win, 300 prc, 338 lapua for long range shooting. which will in turn help with your accuracy during long sessions. barrel weight definitely helps with accuracy as well making it easier to maintain a 0 and get on target and stay there. overall if youre wanting a fantastic rifle straight out of the box that can shoot out to a 1000+ with ease in the right calibers then the RPR is definitely a fantastic platform.
@@ryanlewis5072 Ok, I know the RPR used to be a min $1100-1200.
