I have a first generation RPR in 6.5creedmoor. It got run over by a vehicle and stuff got bent. I was honest and sent it in for inspection and repairs. They replaced multiple parts and not a single dime was spent out of my own pocket, including shipping. It was my only experience in working with Ruger, but they went well above and beyond what was necessary.
Very cool, awesome they were able to get you taken care of hassle free! I actually cant think of any major firearm company that I've worked with that didn't provide awesome customer service. It's great knowing support is always there if you need it.
Same here with an sr22 pistol that had light hammer strikes and feeding issues with the magazines after i brought it home from academy sports. Ruger paid shipping and replaced almost the whole gun! Since then it has never failed hundreds of rounds later and did not cost a dime and only took maybe week and a half-two weeks! Ruger for the win!!!!
I had a mirror polished (almost flawless) vaquero that I sent in to get the barrel properly clocked. They sent it back after it looked like they took a buffing wheel to it with the coarsest compound they had. Totally ruined a finish that I spent literally dozens of hours achieving. I will never send anything in to them again and will probably not buy from them either, since I am self imposing a ban on warranty work.
I think the most impressive thing is your ability to talk to the camera and explain the action clearly with a consistent cadence. It’s very reminiscent of classic 50’s and 60’s instructional. Very relaxing.
Appreciate the compliment! I believe that's a skill I've been able to develop and grow in my career, now I'm able to use it for something I really enjoy doing!
Good color grading during the spring shooting too unless it was shot in HDR mode with a phone, deff came out beautiful. EDIT aw dang I just got to the part where its only 1 month apart lol it for sure looks like paradise out there when its green
It’s great seeing the budget entry gun performing neck and neck with the top of the line gun. I was an MRAD just for the barrel conversions, but it’s cool that the RPR easily pulls its own weight.
Oh man, the RPR is a great shooter especially for the price point. Like you say though, the barrel change capability on the MRAD is an awesome feature and something that I use all the time now that I own one. Thanks for watching!
I mean the mrad can shoot multiple calibers lol it doesn't mean it's expensive so it's shoots better at long range. If it was a built elr yeah that would make sense.
Yeah, I think if you are able to get a rifle that can hit targets at a mile, if you want to start charging thousands more, I need to really feel the difference. If I'm going to spend 5k+ for a rifle, the only reason it shouldn't be be putting rounds through the same hole is user error or crappy ammo.
This guy has it together for presentation...info and ease of delivery and explanation. This channel is going to go somewhere...good. Thank you for your time doing these. I have that Ruger in 300 prc and have stretched it out, but this guy puts it out for all to see. Very enjoyable.
Really appreciate you taking the time to watch and thank you for the compliments! I’m just a regular guy out here trying to create entertaining content that provides the viewer some kind of value in each video. Hope you’ll stay tuned to check out my future videos…. Really excited about what I’ve got in the works!
These videos are very well edited. Really appreciate the multiple camera angles, makes it fun to watch you nail these targets so far out. Keep up the great work!
Thank you for your great commentary..straight to the subject matter. I learned how important reading the wind is, and adjusting it in such small increments.
That has to be one of the nicest places I've ever seen to go shooting. BTW..I just went out to the desert in So. Cal. and made my first hits on a milk jug at 1000 yards using my RPR chambered in 6.5 creed. I was so happy. Next stop 1 mile.
Thank you, it really is an epic place to get to shoot! Hitting a milk jug at 1000 yds is a solid accomplishment! Sounds like you've got the long range bug..... now once you hit a mile you'll be wanting to push further yet again haha
It would seem that the Ruger returned tremendous value on investment for the difference between its cost and the MRAD. Dip Schmidt’s comment also demonstrates Ruger’s commitment to customer support even when the damage was not Ruger’s fault. 👍
I have absolutely no experience in long range shooting but I am very interested in doing some. Your presentation is outstanding and informative without being overwhelming. Thank you for putting this content out there.
Just got the rpr in 300prc. My first long range rifle. At the price I was willing to try this long range stuff out. I dont know if I ever would have spent the money for something like the mrad. Maybe if I feel like Im doing good ill up the game a little but for my first one Im happy to have this. Looks like most people happy with theirs. I don't think I'll even be able to get out past 300yrds until spring lol. Just not much room to stretch out around here and too little free time to go very far. Cant wait.
No joke! I really think 1 mile is now the same as what folks used to think 1000 yds was just a couple years ago. The amount of great off the shelf rifles available now makes it hard for me to see the point of custom builds for the bulk of the shooting population.
Thank you for the compliments! I've got a ton of video ideas so stay tuned! The channel has already received a lot of attention in only a couple of months so the growth is certainly happening.
That’s exactly what I thought when I came across the channel and saw the subscriber count. At first I was thinking, why haven’t I heard of this channel before?
Great shooting my man. Those rifles are sweet. I have the rpr in 300wm and I’ve taken it out to a mile with 220g bergers and H1000. I have a Leupold mark 5hd 7-35x56 set in an F3R machine mount with and an accutac Sr5 bipod with the arca mount. It shoots great and I love it. I have around 5k in this rifle and I can’t imagine spending more to get the mrad and only getting the gun. The mrad is sweet for sure but Its out of my price range and I don’t have a need for a multi caliber rig. Your channel is refreshing and its great to see people actually taking their rifles to distance and not 100 yard groups. Im subbed and Im a fan. 👍
Really appreciate you taking the time to watch! You cannot go wrong with the RPR, mine has been an epic performer. Stay tuned for my future videos, I love long range shooting so you won't see any of that sub 100 yd stuff on my channel haha
300prc is such a sweet shooting cartridge. Got one in the HMR wilderness, put a triggertech on it with a nomad 30 on the end, vortex pst glass. Very accurate long range shooter
I’ve been waiting for the hmr wilderness 300prc to come in stock. If you don’t catch them when they come in stock your SOL. How does the hmr shoot factory ammo?
BTW, The US Army helped Hornady develop the .300 PRC round for sniping to replace the .300 Win mag. It works a bit better with long, heavy bullets due to the neck design.
Honestly I think you can’t go wrong with either rifle. If you can’t afford an MRAD, get the RPR. If you can afford the MRAD, get the MRAD. Both are respectable rifles
Dude I just discovered this channel. Great job brother. This is amazing content. It’s awesome to see people use super high quality rifles and optics but also having the skill to take the rifle out to its potential. I get so sick of seeing guntubers show off all the Gucci gear and make videos swearing how great it is but never showing what it’s capable of. Probably because they should be practicing not buying more expensive crap. Love this. Also the scenery reminds me a lot of home, and I’m home sick after the move to florida in April so that’s a nice touch to see someone shooting outdoors and not at a range. Colorado was amazing for shooting
Really appreciate the support! Hoping to build my channel on the premise I’d actually running the various pieces of gear. I’ve noticed a lot of trends on most of the main stream gun channels and I think I’ve got a unique niche in a mixture of nice gear, cool scenery and ability to effectively employ the gear to its limitations. Stay tuned for more content just like this in 2023!
Enjoy the video. Got the following wishlist. I’d like to get perspective on your long range target. That would set you apart from similar shooters. You could do this with a shot through a zoom scope showing your base and then zoom in to your target or maybe do a sped up cam shot on your quad as you drive up to the target. Second is I’d love a shot looking through scope occasionally so we can see your reticle on target and 25:10 how you make adjustments on the fly. This might take more gear than is practical but tossing it out there. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for sending what you use the Shooter Ballistics app by Kennedy. It’s fun to play with until I get in the field. I like the altitude input and my iPhone 11 got most of the functions to work
100% you cannot go wrong with a ruger precision rifle! Considering the features you're getting out of the box and the price point, I don't think there is anything else on the market that comes close. Great rifle. Thanks for watching!
You absolutely can't go wrong with the RPR..... I thought I was talking a chance on 6.5PRC WOW what a cartridge.... Now I'm really wanting a 300PRC also..... 1725yrds is our max locally an the 300PRC an 300 Norma's seem to be just killing it..... Might just be those guys can actually shoot their rifles..... Me, not so much.....
I bet they make a 7prc soon. Ruger is usually pretty quick to bring new stuff to market. Maybe consider that as well. I think the 7 will be a sweet cartridge!
Love my Ruger precision 6.5 Creedmoor i never shot over 500yrds went straight out to 1000 saw my 1st shot 2' low 1'right made adjustments and shot an 8.5" 5 shot group with a perfect bullseye and that was off a plastic folding table . What a bargain!!
I have a MRAD and it’s stupid accurate and I think worth the money . I have respect for Ruger for building a much lower budget rifle with great accuracy . Not everyone can afford a Barrett or Accuracy international rifle.
I just traded a HK 40 Cal pistol for a Rugar 6.5 Creedmoor with a wood stock, Just wanted to watch some long range shooting. Great Country for long range shooting. Enjoyed your video.
VERY INFORMATIVE VIDEO! I am a "Want to be" long range shooter. You have me sold on the RPR, now I just have to Find a place to shoot >5 to a mile. Thanks again for a great video....
Oh man you made a great choice! This Ruger precision rifle was my first venture into the realm of magnum ELR rifles. Great platform to get started with. As you can see In the video the RPR is easily capable of hanging with much more expensive rifles. Thanks for watching!
Love all the information you gave. Very helpful towards my next purchase. Ruger Percision is coming up! Berret will be whenever I can afford, haha. I'm extremely stoked to see the accuracy and range from Ruger Percision.
I know there are many great rifles, but, I’m a smith and Wesson guy and Ruger, had problems with Remington rifles, so went with Ruger about 35 years ago
The RPR is an EXCELLENT rifle right out of the box with a GREAT price too ! And results up to 1 mile are EXCELLENT too ! Would never change it ! Barrett is way overpriced...but it has a great reputation ONLY due to the GOV business!
@@giii7599 I know its reputation. I am not cheap and love/buy quality and dependability. Still just because of the large gov contracts such a rifle should not cost that much. Everything is done with CNC...not by hand and here in US! If would be manufactured in Switzerland/Germany where a gunsmith is paid $60/hour...different story!
@@gt-c- The fact that everything is CNC milled doesn't mean that the tolerances hold up. Depends on who is programming/running the machines along with tool life. Why would you assume that I am not from the US? I am a machinist. I would never buy anything Ruger. I will stick with Barrett since I have seen the Machining up close. Accuracy international's machining process is top brass as well.
@@giii7599 I respect your position and I do not assume anything (a lot of guns are made in Mexico, Turkey, etc). Guns are somewhat like cars. Among other toys, I still have a Lexus LS430 bought new and unseen in 2001 for $60K and still runs and looks like first day. Other friends bought Jaguars, Mercedes, BMW at $120K+ and dumped them long time ago (after spending a ton in repairs). As long as I am able to get good shots up to a mile (mainly between 400-800 yds) with an RPR for FUN...I am OK with that. I do not need a military rifle that was made by a military contractor, to shoot at convoys or take out bad guys with bullets that cost $8+/piece... Just scan below and see other's comments on pricing...
For those who look for an alternative to the MRAD for barrel swapping, and want to avoid a big hit on the pocket, then go for the Ritter & Stark SX-1. You have .338 and .308 options, a Khales scope included in the kit and a bipod I think, for half of the price of an MRAD. Barrett sells the name and surely they do make top of the line guns, but still... Not everyone is ready or willing to spend extra for the sakes of a brand.
Appreciate you taking the time to watch! Misses are part of the game as you know. My thoughts are I'd like to provide a realistic look at my capabilities with the gear as I'm sure that will help encourage others or create conversation to make us all better.
Ha I've learned that's attributed to the rifles..... I'm working on a bergara 300wm hunting rifle at long range video right now, it's a fight to keep that rig on target to spot impacts.
Since I have an RPR, I'm a big fan of the rifle and don't feel it gives up much, if anything to similar rifles costing multiples of the RPR. From visually watching your shooting, it appears that the muzzle brake on the RPR is more effective recoil reduction and insuring that the recoil is straight back. The MRAD, in your video, has a fairly clear tendency to want the barrel to lift up on the shot, and watching you/the rifle movement, the recoil visually appears a bit sharper/stronger than that of the RPR. A better brake might bring the MRAD under better control, IMO. YMMV. I can't speak for the MRAD, but the Magpul PRS gen 3 rear stock is much more stable and its weight improves the balance of the rifle noticeably. The butt stock adjustment and tendency to move on its own is well established. I'm running the same scope on my RPR as you do and when I do my part, and a Timney trigger at 1# pull. When I do my part, I can post a 10 rd 100 yd group that is covered by a quarter. The extra features of the MRAD vs the RPR are sort of "look what I can do" but not a necessity. For that little gee whiz fluff, a person pays triple the cost of the RPR. That would certainly pay for two completely tricked out RPRs including after market barrels, vs one MRAD. Not a bargain, IMO. YMMV.
Thank you! Appreciate you taking the time to watch. Man after growing up on the east coast I feel like I’ve found myself in a long range shooting paradise. These wide open rolling wheat fields are made for shooting long range.
Thank you! 100% you cannot go wrong with a RPR..... they are great performers out of the box. I really don't think you'll find anything more capable at a price point as nice as the RPR.
Great job on the video. I have a Barrett MRAD in 338 Lapua Magnum and I have a friend that has the Ruger Precious Rifle in 338 Lapua Magnum also that I reload for both of us. We are both medically retired Army and Marine. I’m hoping my friend can come back down here to Kentucky some that we can shoot out to 2,200 yards real soon before deer season.
@@MountainsMulletsMerica I have connected twice at 1,372. But I really want to connect at 1,800 and 2,200 yards. The target at 1,800 is 12”x20” IPSA and at 2,200 yards a 24”x24”
@@fordvg a 12x20 at 1800 is tough! I primarily shoot a full size IPSC at 1800 which is 18x30 and that's a solid challenge. 24x24 at 2200 is very doable. The key is making sure you've got low ES & SD in your ammo. Good luck!
@@MountainsMulletsMerica my ammo has a SD of 10 fps. What calibers do you have for your MRAD? I remember you saying 6.5 CM, 300 PRC, and I thought you said 338 LM.
The RPR factory trigger is AMAZING! Probably better then the Timney to be honest. Take out that adjustment spring to and theres almost no take up. You think about pulling the trigger and it shoots. Love it!
Thanks mate, getting back into hunting again after years off it. Bit out of touch with the development of rifles after so long, Ruger was one that I always had in my mind. Pretty happy with what you’ve said. Cheers from Australia.👍
Tell you what, out of the box rifles have improved big time in just the last couple of years. Tons of great options on the market now that really make it easy for someone to get into a decently priced solid long range performer. Appreciate you taking the time to watch!
Hard to beat the RPR, especially for the money! This RPR I ever got hits at a mile with so it’ll always have a special place haha. That said, the mrad is an epic rifle. I absolutely love the barrel change capability. Thanks for watching!
@@MountainsMulletsMerica Ha ha I’m not at a mile yet but as soon as I find a place near Austin or Lockhart Texas I will definitely be hitting that. Tough to find places with that length even in Texas, one of the most gun friendly states 🤦♂️
@@IsraelDFender Funny you mention austin. I was just down that way a couple of weeks ago, beautiful area, especially there around the lake. The thing I've always heard about TX is given it's all private ground it makes it hard to find shooting spots.
Yeah but that Ruger precision rifle is $5k cheaper and just as good or if not better than the Barrett, Ruger is coming out with some badass guns for good prices over the last couple years, I have the Ruger precision rifle and I have no complaints and I love this gun, I have shot it alittle over a mile
Totally agree! If you’re only interested in shooting capabilities, the RPR is hard to beat for the money. As you saw in the video I was easily able to push that rifle out to a mile. If I didn’t want any of the extra “features” of something like the mrad, I’d buy an RPR and never look back. The other great thing about the RPR is it has a ton of aftermarket support. As you grow as s shooting and get more experience you can begin upgrading the rifle to fit your personal tastes. Thanks for watching!
It’s SO GREAT seeing Ruger holding fast to their roots in offering firearms that just flat out shoot for the money when combined with good ammunition. Gotta say, the video went pretty much how I expected it to and EVERYTHING is on point. Both rifles are awesome for sure. I’m with you in liking the MRAD for the barrel/caliber interchangeability, 10 round mags, RIGHT-folding stock (like what was Ruger thinking…???), and a foam insert pelican case. Great video and thank you for the content
Oh man, Ruger hit a home run with the RPR. My opinion maybe the best value in regards to an out of the box precision rifle. As shown in this video, it’s very capable of performing with much more expensive offerings and the cool thing is there is huge aftermarket support so as you spend more time with the rifle you can “upgrade” where desired. Appreciate you taking the time to watch!
I have a RPR in 6.5 cm with a Arken sh4 6x25x50& have hit 1500 yds easily hitting a 8" plate using AAC 140g black tips! The trigger is amazing! I prefer AR platform rifles to bolt guns but the RPR shoots amazing for a $2500 production rig! Great work on the video! Capt J
My dad was a ww2 vet who was raised in Michigan and hunting and fishing was a necessity, and I watched this man hit deer with his 30.06 up to and probably beyond 1000 yards and this was over 50 years ago. Him and his extension could get the job done.
Suggestion for your channel: Setup: Set up two separate targets 90 degrees from each other from your setup location. Whichever way the wind is blowing, shoot at target that is the most downwind and least crosswind. Reduces variables. May require multiple cameras. So what? Also: For speed, get nice, big, 4X8 sheets of plywood to shoot at that you can set up on well-anchored tripod-like anchors. It will help you immediately quantify changes in MOA needed. 1/4" plywood is fine. You'll see the holes with the big scopes. You can even shine an extremely bright LED floodlight at the back of the target to show through the hole when penetrated, and use dark targets. Also, a test on a truly massive high-magnification rifle scope. We ain't talking about CQB here, after all.
I’ve still have my .Ruger 338 Win.Mag. With own reloads, I was hitting a target at 700 yards, a few years ago when me and my buddy was comparing his 338 Lapua vs my Ruger 338 Win Mag, his drop point was a little more on mine, which is expected, a person needs to learn his weapon until it becomes an extension of him or herself
This was fun. As per the bi-pods, may I kindly recommend to you, to hunt for a unit that changed everything for me? Please note, the unit is of a lessor quality brand as some claim, but, for the UTG brand of bi-pod and the model OVER-BORE, for the larger rifle systems, it is perfect, it solves all the issues the underside mounted bi-pods have. Also, this UTG OVER-BORE bi-pod unit is absolutely NOT for being mounted on a small rifle like an AR, which includes the AR-10/.308. I suppose you could, but, the OVER-BORE unit is heavy by design. The OVER-BORE has 22 degrees of pan in both directions left to right, and the mounting on top on the hand guard, allows the rifle to naturally hang from the pivot pin or canting degrees depends on the hand guard really. The pivot pin is also a push-button quick detach if you need to dump the legs or for case storage. The price of the UTG OVER-BORE bi-pod range from $120 to $180, pending where you purchase it, that is if you can still locate one, as they are discontinued. There are some new in stock at various on-line stores of the popular E-stores. There is only a few UA-cam videos covering this bi-pod as per doing a review which I had commented on this unit there with a full novel to go along with the channel owner's point of view for this UTG unit. I have 3 of them in use now on my large rifles, 1 on an RPR and one as a backup now just in case. I sold my CKYE bi-pods, all of them now that I have the UTG units. and for the price I spent on those, I could have purchased 20 of the UTG units. I will attach the like that show cases those bi-pods on larger rilfes.
Man I literally just bought another accu tac bipod, I wish I would have seen your comment sooner. I really like the looks of the over bore and have always wanted to try one of the top mounted bipods. Very nice price point as well. For sure something I'll look into. Appreciate the information!
I understand that removing all influences is impossible. Wind, lighting, etc. I think your method is sufficient for a qualified evaluation. As a novice, I would appreciate a list of all of the known prejudice.
❤ Love it watch that video I have two Tikka call them the twins 6 .5 and 308 My longest distance is 600 yards I am not one to make elevation adjustments I use hash marks Even at 600 yards, very encouraging I learned a lot keep up the good work
I've had a good experience with Ruger customer service. Had to mail my bolt in to fix the extractor. Happens, I have had a few rugers 223, 6.5, 338 and have had just the one issue that was solved quick.
Great video. Appreciate your evaluation. One small point about customer service. Absolutely appreciate the excellent service by Barrett. But I have to say the the 100th time (I exaggerate) I appreciate not needing customer service even more. ;)
Touche, my preference would be not needing to use customer service but at some point things are going to give trouble. It's great knowing a company will stand behind their product. I was thinking just yesterday I've used customer service with multiple companies through the years and they've all been great. I really can't think of a single experience with a major manufacturer that was negative.
Great Content!!! I own Ruger precision Gen 3 . They up graded the trigger , love the rifle...I also have Tikka tac A1 Great rifle and the new Sig.. All great competitors Maybe Barret someday? Thanks for the review
Appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment! The new Sig Cross in 6.5CM is one I've been thinking of purchasing to try. Very cool looking rifle that I expect is extremely capable! Thanks for watching!
The funny thing is that i owned an mrad before the military did. I bought one with my backpay they owed me when they took 3.5 years to decide on my disability. Im in a wheelchair and have been learning to walk again over the last 13 years and have had 4 surgeries since i was injured in Afghanistan. I traded my mrad in to buy stuff for my daughter and ended up buying a RPR with the rest. I bought it in 6.5 creedmoor and later I ended up buying another in 338 lapua. I spent the 2 RPRs for less than the mrad. I kept my glass and put it on the 338. Love the rpr much more than the mrad really. The mrad didnt have issues really but was not more accurate.
Look for the mlok weights on the snyder precision website. I would give you a link but I believe youtube frowns upon this.... They've got a couple of different options you can choose from.
Oh man this is a tough one haha. I’ve owned multiple scopes from both companies and have used customer service from each company. Both manufacturers provide scopes that perform very well. Ultimately though it comes down to which models specifically you are looking at? I ran a razor gen II 3-18 for a while but decided to sell it because in my opinion it was way heavy for what it was. On the NF side I’ve run multiple nxs (3.5-15x f1s) scopes and most recently the atacrs. At the moment I run the NF atacrs because I believe they offer a lot of scope for the money. To me they have really nice glass, and I like that they are based next door to me in ID. Also I typically buy my scopes on the used market and in my experience when you buy a used NF you can resell it for exactly what you have in it. Since I’ve been happy with NF recently I haven’t had a reason to try anything else. All that said though, either company will provide you a really nice optic for your rig.
I have the creedmoor rpr it holds crazy grouping even just messing around at 100 yards i put 10 shots through the same hole completely able to cover with a penny best entry level rifle ive found and i javnt been shooting long just read alot
Having owned 2 AI's (both in 308) and one RPR in 308, I can say that the Ruger shot every bit as well as my AI's, maybe a little better. The Ruger's stock adjustments (which routinely would creep and lose adjustment and the fact that the it would not hold a 30 cal suppressor and caused an 7-8 moa loss of zero, caused me to sell it shortly after that discovery.
For sure, I've been able to improve audio in future videos through using a microphone setup. Camera improvement is in the future plans but not sure on the timeline yet. Really appreciate you taking the time to watch!
I have a Ruger Precision Rifle Gen 2 in 6,5 Creed. I installed Harris bipod and replaced original pistol grip with Magpul K2. Loosened the original trigger as much as could and that was it. I’m thinking about installing Magpul PRC Lite stock on it. The load I’m running for target shooting is 140 Gr Berger VLD Hybrid Lapua brass (small rifle primer pocket) CCI BR4 primers H4350 42.8Gr COAL 2.855” just fits the magazine Hunting load 143 Gr Hornady ELD-X Lapua brass (small rifle primer pocket) CCI BR4 H 4350 42.5 Gr COAL 2.822” With both loads I was hitting 4” gongs without problems @ 500m. Than I switched to golf balls. I’m clearing out bush now to extend it to 600m. Just to show that you don’t need a $10,000 rifle to do all this and have fun.
Oh man you are exactly right! The RPR is an awesome performer at a great price point, plus there is a ton of aftermarket support for them so you can upgrade if/ when you want. Sounds like you have a great shooter if you're consistently hitting a 4" gong at 500m! Thanks for watching!
I never attempted this with factory ammo but with my reloads I’m pretty consistent. I’m pushing those 140 Gr Berger Hybrids at 2830 ft/s so that helps a bit. Lately I’ve been having problems finding 140 Gr Berger VLD Hybrid projectiles in Canada. As soon as they come they are gone. I can’t say 143 Gr ELD-X are not as good as VLDs but I guess that factor of superstition… You know when you get used to one load and you trust it 100%. I shot a black bear with this rifle few weeks ago at about 60m using ELD-X reload and I was surprised a bit. Flipped it on its back but it stood up and ran another 70-80m until it finally dropped. The exit hole was about 2”. I think its high sectional density kinda worked against it. Maybe because of a short distance. Could be wrong. So something to think about if you have 6,5 Creed and you’re shooting medium size game under 100m. Overall this rifle offers a lot for its price tag and I would definitely recommend it.
Much appreciated! I believe the MRAD and RPR would be very capable shooters with .308 but .308 would make shooting past 1000 yds much more difficult. .308 just really starts to fall off past 1000 in terms of velocity making consistent performance very challenging.
I have a first generation RPR in 6.5creedmoor. It got run over by a vehicle and stuff got bent. I was honest and sent it in for inspection and repairs. Very cool, awesome they were able to get you taken care of hassle free! I actually cant think of any major firearm company that I've worked with that didn't provide awesome customer service. It's great knowing support is always there if you need it.
I have one as well. Very under-rated firearm! I think Ruger firearms in general deserves more credit for their guns.
The finish on Ruger pistols is awful. I have an LCP II that rusted the first day of having it IWB on me…
I think the most impressive thing is your ability to talk to the camera and explain the action clearly with a consistent cadence. It’s very reminiscent of classic 50’s and 60’s instructional. Very relaxing.

Total agree!
Haha, I finally understand why I like the presentation so much. Old-school instructor vibe.
I appreciate the honesty of this video. Not all hits, owning mistakes, explaining adjustments… the whole nine. Thank you sir.
The scenery is beautiful! So refreshing to see someone shoot ELR at such a stunning landscape...
Man this area is a long range shooting paradise! Thanks for watching!
@@MountainsMulletsMerica Is this in the Palouse of Eastern Washington?
@@jeffmcmillan6554 That it is! A long range shooting paradise!
Good color grading during the spring shooting too unless it was shot in HDR mode with a phone, deff came out beautiful. EDIT aw dang I just got to the part where its only 1 month apart lol it for sure looks like paradise out there when its green
I knew it had to be the Palouse. My in laws are from deer park area north of Spokane, but we've been through your area a few times.
What was changed in barrel just trying to gain knowledge?
@@Frank-eg4mw calibers
I mean the mrad can shoot multiple calibers lol it doesn't mean it's expensive so it's shoots better at long range. If it was a built elr yeah that would make sense.
2200 is a budget entry gun?
No justifying that price, a 4k difference buys many things, especially with the world we live in. RPR is awesome, I love it.
Hard to argue with that. The RPR easily holds it's own at a very attractive price point. Thanks for watching!
It's the law of diminishing returns
Thank you! Every video I make I learn something new with regards to editing, that's half the fun!
Thank you for your great commentary..straight to the subject matter. I learned how important reading the wind is, and adjusting it in such small increments.
Great video. Enjoyed every minute of it. Crazy how quickly 30 mins go when you're enjoying the content. Very well done. Very well laid out.
100% agree with this comment. The RPR provides epic performance out of the box at a price point that is super attractive!
Ruger has always been great to deal with... Awesome service. Great people.
Cant wait.
It is absolutely amazing what people are doing with off the shelf rifles these days.
No joke! I really think 1 mile is now the same as what folks used to think 1000 yds was just a couple years ago. The amount of great off the shelf rifles available now makes it hard for me to see the point of custom builds for the bulk of the shooting population.
I have an RPR 6.5 Creedmore & love it. I have a Ruger Precisiob Rimfire & was using it weekly in a league. What a rifle that is. I love them both.
These videos are phenomenal. This channel should be MUCH bigger than it is now.
Honestly the 27min length made me almost skip this, despite a very interesting title. I'm so glad i didn't. 27min is a big commitment.

My man is dinging metal over a mile away. Very impressive. Im going to keep watching you and learning. Thanks for the videos brother
Awesome! Really appreciate the support!
Great video! I just got started shooting long range. I “accidentally” bought a savage 6.5 looking at a 338 Ruger now.
300prc is such a sweet shooting cartridge. Got one in the HMR wilderness, put a triggertech on it with a nomad 30 on the end, vortex pst glass. Very accurate long range shooter
Oh man, 300 PRC makes long range shooting look easy haha
I’ve been waiting for the hmr wilderness 300prc to come in stock. If you don’t catch them when they come in stock your SOL. How does the hmr shoot factory ammo?
BTW, The US Army helped Hornady develop the .300 PRC round for sniping to replace the .300 Win mag. It works a bit better with long, heavy bullets due to the neck design.
This is outstanding content, man. You've definitely earned a sub here.
Plus he looks like a young Ron Howard. And don't get me started on that Beautiful Land.
@@snatcher420 That's what sealed the deal.
Honestly I think you can’t go wrong with either rifle. If you can’t afford an MRAD, get the RPR. If you can afford the MRAD, get the MRAD. Both are respectable rifles
Love that Ruger. I don't consider it an entry level rifle. It's just an awesome deal that others will have trouble matching.
I like the altitude input and my iPhone 11 got most of the functions to work
I think I'm sold on the Ruger Precision Rifle - for the money, it is just a fantastic package. Great video and Excellent shooting.
100% you cannot go wrong with a ruger precision rifle! Considering the features you're getting out of the box and the price point, I don't think there is anything else on the market that comes close. Great rifle. Thanks for watching!
I was going to say the same thing about the MRAD
You absolutely can't go wrong with the RPR.....
I thought I was talking a chance on 6.5PRC WOW what a cartridge....
Now I'm really wanting a 300PRC also.....
1725yrds is our max locally an the 300PRC an 300 Norma's seem to be just killing it.....
Might just be those guys can actually shoot their rifles.....
Me, not so much.....
I bet they make a 7prc soon. Ruger is usually pretty quick to bring new stuff to market. Maybe consider that as well. I think the 7 will be a sweet cartridge!
Just ordered rpr in 6.5cm, great shooting brother….Merrica!😎 🇺🇸

Oh man you made a great choice! This Ruger precision rifle was my first venture into the realm of magnum ELR rifles. Great platform to get started with. As you can see In the video the RPR is easily capable of hanging with much more expensive rifles. Thanks for watching!

The RPR is an EXCELLENT rifle right out of the box with a GREAT price too !
And results up to 1 mile are EXCELLENT too !
Would never change it !
Barrett is way overpriced...but it has a great reputation ONLY due to the GOV business!
Yep Ruger hit a homerun with the RPR. Great rifle out of the box!
The Barrett is not overpriced. The reputation has been earned.
Great video💪 appreciate the walk through and you taking us on a shoot with you
Glad you enjoyed it! Appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment!
Camera work is coming along great! Your channel gonna take off for sure.

Your recoil management is awesome bro, your rifle doesn’t move at all. Great shooting !
Ha I've learned that's attributed to the rifles..... I'm working on a bergara 300wm hunting rifle at long range video right now, it's a fight to keep that rig on target to spot impacts.
Easily earned a sub, like, and comment. Love the simplicity, not over-complicated for us beginners
Really appreciate the sub and I’m excited to hear you enjoyed the video. Stay tuned for more, this is exactly how I intend each of my videos to feel!
What's your long term review of the MRAD? are you happy with it? or do you wish you would have Gone AI or DT?
YMMV.
I couldn't help but notice the similarity of a young Ron Howard!! Happy Days indeed! Thanks, great video
Ha that's great, I've heard this several times! Thanks for watching!
Looking forward to getting the RPR.

Thank you! Appreciate you taking the time to watch. Man after growing up on the east coast I feel like I’ve found myself in a long range shooting paradise. These wide open rolling wheat fields are made for shooting long range.
Scopes are dialed in with a warm barrel, always heat up your cold barrel with a sacrifice round , your groups will be tighter
Unless you track your cold bore shots in your logbook.
In the real world you almost never get the chance to fire a “sacrificial round”.
Great video man! I've got to get my hands on a RPR after watching this
Good stuff, appreciate you taking the time to watch! 2,200 yds is getting way out there for a .338LM, super fun connecting at those distances.

@@MountainsMulletsMerica Yes…VERY difficult to find a spot lol
Suggestion for your channel:
Setup: Set up two separate targets 90 degrees from each other from your setup location.

Great video... I have the RPR 300 PRC with a few mods and also run the 230 Atip. Where did you find the weights you added to the rail?
Look for the mlok weights on the snyder precision website. I would give you a link but I believe youtube frowns upon this.... They've got a couple of different options you can choose from.
I'm sticking with Ruger. For the price, and where the bullet meets the bone, their more (
Awesome video and great shooting! Question… I need to buy a scope and I’m stuck between Vortex and NightForce, what makes you choose NF?
@@MountainsMulletsMerica you are being polite so I will say it for you, Nightforce is better.
If you keep carrying both of those guns up hills like that, you will not even need a gun, that is a heck of a workout! ;-) Great video!
I have the creedmoor rpr it holds crazy grouping even just messing around at 100 yards i put 10 shots through the same hole completely able to cover with a penny best entry level rifle ive found and i javnt been shooting long just read alot
Very nice, my opinion the RPR is an awesome rifle. Really hard to beat it for the price point.
Great video. Beautiful range. I hope better dedicated audio and cameras are in the works to bump production value.
For sure, I've been able to improve audio in future videos through using a microphone setup. Camera improvement is in the future plans but not sure on the timeline yet. Really appreciate you taking the time to watch!
It would be cool if they had the Nemo arms Omen to compare aswell
I’ve actually reached out to them for product…. To date nothing has come of the request
The load I’m running for target shooting is
140 Gr Berger VLD Hybrid
Lapua brass (small rifle primer pocket)
CCI BR4 primers
H4350 42.8Gr
COAL 2.855” just fits the magazine
Hunting load
143 Gr Hornady ELD-X
Lapua brass (small rifle primer pocket)
CCI BR4
H 4350 42.5 Gr
COAL 2.822”
With both loads I was hitting 4” gongs without problems @ 500m.
I can’t say 143 Gr ELD-X are not as good as VLDs but I guess that factor of superstition…
You know when you get used to one load and you trust it 100%.
Anyone else at awe over the scenery? Heaven on earth!
This was Paradise before the Europeans came
Very impressive shooting .... what do you think would happen if you were shooting 308 out of same rifles?
Much appreciated! I believe the MRAD and RPR would be very capable shooters with .308 but .308 would make shooting past 1000 yds much more difficult. .308 just really starts to fall off past 1000 in terms of velocity making consistent performance very challenging.
Thank you for your response. Would 6.5 creedmore be the way to go?
