❤📚 I'm not even going to shock you with my unread physical tbr, but I also am on a new book ban. I am avoiding my library and concentrating on my own bookshelves. I thrift and have limited those purchases to only books already on my Goodreads "want to read." Wishing us both luck in 2024! 🎉📚❤️

Girl, I totally feel you, I finished creating my TBR list for the upcoming year yesterday and now I have 101 books there, with majority of these books being ones I already have in physical copies at home 😅 I keep my fingers crossed for our effort haha good luck ❤

Also, Ive read both Song of Achilles and Circe.
Song of Achilles was great- for 2013. The first half of the book is charming, the second half takes places during the trojan war. Our narrator is turned into a man that is protected by achilles until the last moment, instead of the excellent warrior and right-hand man that he is in the actual mythos. The story falls prey to the stereotype that in a gay relationship one man must be weaker (or more feminine) than the other. Okay for queer rep in the early 2010s, but today its a hot mess that doesnt do justice to the original story.
If youre gonna read Miller, i recommend the witchy woman finding herself on an island that is Circe much more, that was a 5 star read for me
I’ve read Circe and loved it! I’m not sure why I haven’t read TSOA yet (most likely because of the hype) but at this point it’s one I’m not 100% sure I’ll ever get to as I already feel like I’ve read it lmao

@@loverofpages but still I think Kindle is one of the best purchases. It did save me from buying more books and taking more of my space, also it's great for reading at night and carrying in the bag. Hundreds of books at one place 😂
Pleaseee feel free to unhaul "the four agreements" by throwing it OFF A CLIFF, jack edwards did a review of it and its a terrible book of advice. The four agreeements on the inside cover are the best part.
