Okay, so Mark clearly said, “This is not intended to attack anyone, to each their own,” yet, I have since checked that subreddit and someone has since made a meme that referred to something they called “the Markiplier shitstorm.”

Everytime a UA-cam looks at something or someone that can be seen as "negative", even if the youtuber says "I do not want to start shit so don't go after them". That. Always. Happens. Anyway.
Yeah I hate it like and sometimes it's not even truly bothering the youtuber at all or he/she is even laughing about it (like in this case) and even tho some of us don't want to start trouble if we don't have to some people instantly feel that they need to start trouble

Just because cats aren't as excitable as dogs (which I perfer) doesn't mean that they don't show affection. Anytime I walked into my parents house their cat would run to the front door to say hi and rub on my leg, it was the sweetest thing. Regardless of what your experiences are with dogs or cats you can't say that either animal is incapable of showing affection.
A person is lying to themselves if they claim that cats don't show affection. It's pretty obvious that they do, it's just different and they're not energetic about it like dogs. Personally I cannot stand the overly energetic behavior that many dogs tend to have. I find it instantly *VERY* aggravating, to say the least. Dogs don't seem to understand personal boundaries, and owners frequently don't try to do anything to control them. To me that's not acceptable.
True. I've also read about a cat who tracked down its owner after she was moved to a nursing home. And a cat that woke its owner to warn them of a burgler. Cats do care.

The reason some dog lovers hate cats is because they treat cats as if they would treat a dog. But cats are so different from dogs that treating them like they're the same animal will never work.
Cats are basically the introverted friend that prefer to chill rather than play all the time, but will still enjoy the company of a hooman. Doggos are the extroverted buds, extremely friendly and ready and excited to do anything. Both of them however, will always enjoy a good head scritch.
EDIT: there will always be exceptions to this. some dogs like to just chill all the time, and some cats like to play fetch. it's a good idea to do research on any kind of animal! That way misconceptions and judgement can be mitigated.

I love both dogs and cats. And as someone that is unbiased i can absolutely say there are a lot more people hating cats especially dog lovers.
I don't know anyone who's specifically gone out of their way to hate cats. I think what you do find is just how much more common it is for people to say they dislike them. I don't like most cats but one of my favorite pets was a cat. The thing about dog haters is that they want to see dogs and their owners live in the same misery that they are living in. @@FHSBlackSwarm But lots of dog "nutters" (people loving dogs a tad bit too much) literally run pet cats over on the streets, and go out of their way to poison them. My own cat died this way. Saw her getting hit a toy by a motorcycle, which didn't stop by the way. As someone who doesn't really like dogs, i'd never go out of my way to harm someone's pet for fun. But guess what cat haters do? Ruin it. They kill our pets for fun, or torture them in ways that you can't even imagine. We really aren't the psychotic ones.

They bring the dogs to libraries, restaurants and even fricking movie theatres and seem to not hold them back when they go near other people irrespective of whether the person likes the dog being near them. As someone who as been attacked by two pitbulls, if treated right they are the most caring animals in the world. The first dog? Got fed meth instead of food half the time. I was 4 and went “ooo puppy” and got attacked. The second? I was jumping around and accidentally slapped it cause I was waving my arms around. My fault, not the dogs. They were defending themselves and they didn’t attempt to rip my arm off, it was a warning bite that was to close so it snagged just under my eye.
You know what a pitbull also did to me? Protected and loved me. My family’s own pitbull from when I was 4 would take care and watch me and make sure I wasn’t hurt. When we had difficulty cleaning wounds from the first attack she would attempt to clean it for me. When I lost a toy she would go out and either find that toy or find another. Kosher was a second mother to me and would never hurt me or anyone else.
Pitbulls were nanny dogs, they would protect children with their life. It’s not their fault abusive assholes chose to target that breed for cage fighting. It’s not their fault they are some of the commonly mistreated dogs in the world.

I don't love dogs, I don't understand wanting to own one because I myself don't think I'm responsible enough to own one and I prefer cats. BUT that doesn't mean I'm gonna go out of my way to shit on people for owning dogs just because I personally don't understand it.
The sub is for people that wouldn't otherwise be able to safely express themselves. We post news articles about dog attacks or vent about our neighbor's dogs barking nonstop, etc. It's the one place we can go without being treated like demons just because we don't worship dogs. The memes and stuff aren't even in this sub(at least haven't been since I joined).
As someone on Dogfree, we just don't like dogs and it's a safe space for us. People also ask for dog bite advice or advice with neighbors dogs barking. We don't do any harm, and the cat hating subreddit is terrible. It has abusive posts where they harm cats, whereas we just mind our business.
Some of you do, there are some very abusive posts but I’m not saying you specifically I’m just saying that there are some

This shit was going on in my neihgborhood when I was a kid. Also one of my neighbors used to put dog traps to the woods next to my house, basically wooden planks with spikes or nails up or small holes with spikes and I almost hurt myself in one. Other neighbor's dog died bc of one, left 6 small puppies with no mom. He also used to put dog shit in people's mail boxes, including ours. He still lives in the same spot and is a fucking creep.

Bad dog owners can lead to bad dogs. I remember my neighbors bought a dog for their little daughter and she rarely played with it, so the parents kept out in the backyard 24/7. She now barks at anything that walks by their house, I honestly feel like she barks though for attention because anytime I get near the fence she comes over and lets me pet her and take branches out of her matted hair

I by no means hate dogs, but like you said, I cannot stand people who fake service animals. I live in California, and by law only service animals are permitted inside restaurants. I've worked in a couple different restaurants for a few years now, and literally 95% of the dogs that people bring in with their little vests that they insist are service animals are obviously not. Dogs that run around sniffing people and begging for food, or getting super distracted or even barking. Everyone knows that a service dog isn't a chihuahua trying to jump out of its baby stroller. Everyone knows that you don't sit with your service animal on your lap at the table while you feed it scraps. People get so outraged and entitled about being able to bring their pet into a restaurant. It baffles me, not everyone wants to eat a nice dinner while your dog is next to them in a table level stroller sniffing and begging, some people are allergic, and can't take the fur or dander, and I personally am scared of dogs I'm not familiar with. I always get nervous approaching people with large dogs because I've been bitten before and they always come running at me because I'm carrying food. I hate it

Being a service team is hard in the best of circumstances. But the amount of times that people accuse me of faking because people do this crap or try to “out” my “fake disability” by trying to provoke my dog into bad behavior is increasing with time because other people can’t respect that disabled people are deserving of accommodations that help them, and they are not entitled to have their buddy with them just because we have highly trained service animals and they happen to like dogs.
I love dogs but I absolutely hate it when people bring their animals into restaurants and stores. It shouldn't be allowed. People really can't just leave them home? We left our pets home all the time and they were fine.

Yeah, depending on the service they provide, they may alert or scan in different ways. My guy blocks people from getting too close to me because most days that I go out I have to deal with at least one case of someone chasing or harassing me for medical information.
The rules that apply to service dogs are, in order of importance:
1) NEVER EVER EVER EVER shows any sign of aggression
2) no urinating or defecating except when given direction from their handler
3) performs and focuses on their service, without disrupting their environment (in the case of a restaurant, they must sit out of the way, not eat, and not engage people or other dogs). Mine is a black lab mix and he loves work, so his tail is always wagging, and thus a lot of people tell me, “he’s wagging his tail he wants to see me/my kid/etc” but he can’t respond to them, even when they do the fly by tail pull
4) no barking (except if it’s an alert), startle responses should generally focus on handler protection quickly/should be mild (this is why our training includes fire stations, malls, and in our case, a day program with EMS in tow and wheelchairs that bump paws, etc)
5) calm, focused, disciplined demeanor
Those are the basics of what we’re taught to ensure is trained before they have public access, and it’s pretty easy to spot a fake.

A friend of mine, who was the most sweet and hilarious friend I ever had, used to have a pitbull. He took her when she was still a pup and she was the sweetest thing ever. Every time she saw me she would start jumping around and getting up on two legs as if to ask for pats or food, rarely barked and never hurt anyone.
My neighbours, whom I hate because they're pieces of shit, have a pitbull and another dog that isn't a specific breed. The pitbull, who is a piece of shit, exactly like my neighbours, attacked my dogs many times and almost blinded one of my dog's left eye. I think that recently it even attacked the neighbours' other dog.
Really, it all depends on the type of owner.

And even so, the pitbull had been abused for a long time before my neighbours took her and the reason why she is still like that is because they don't care a lick about her and the other dog and didn't even try to change her. They keep them in their garden (like, a quarter of it or something close), never spend time with them and more.

Hell, my housemate has 2 dogs and I tolerate them because I have to. But I will not by any means let those dogs think Im gonna let them get away with any bullshit. I'm right there with you. My sig. other and I owned dogs and cats until recently. Both dogs have since passed and we will not be getting another. We decided to stick strictly to cats from now on.
Granted you treat a cat well and respect their boundaries (cats tend to be assholes TO assholes), they are far superior pets in most ways. They're cleaner, quieter and don't reek, affectionate without going overboard with it, less destructive and have an independent streak that keeps them from getting in your face 24/7. Some people however like that quality in dogs; the neediness, clinginess and subservience. I think dog owners who hate cats resent the fact they cannot exert complete control over a cat; as if animals only exists to cater to THEIR needs.

I used to live somewhere where stay dogs were around on the streets. If you get too close to them, they will either run away or start attacking you. If they attack, they don’t stop until you die or give them a reason to stop. Every time I hear about how pathetic dogs are, I just roll my eyes and scoff, because they aren’t. If given the opportunity to do so, they can be your best friend, or your worst enemy. And I assure you, you do not want them to be your enemy.
I just realized I didn’t finish responding. I’ve seen people with Pitbulls before, and I am very confused as to why people think they are these dangerous beasts. They can be, but those are for the same reasons the dogs I’ve dealt with were. If raised well, Pitbulls are very kind, probably more so than any other dog.

I have PTSD and my dog isn’t a service dog or a therapy dog. I don’t take him out in public with me, but when I’m having a panic attack or even just a bad day, he comes and let’s me hold him while I cry. He’s seen me at my worst and chose to sit with me over playing with his toys or eating food and that is why I love my dog. That’s why I say he’s my best friend.
That being said, growing up, I had a sibling who was very afraid of dogs and still kind of is to this day. They don’t seem to mind my dog because he’s small and quiet, but I would never judge them even if they didn’t like my own dog because what matters it that /I/ love my dog and I’m happy to say he’s mine.

yeah dogs do that with each other too, if they are playing and accidentally hurt each other. So, if you ever accidentally hurt your dog (stepping on them or smth) it's likely that if you act with remorse (stop and pet them, etc) they will understand that it was an accident.

I spent the night at a friends house once and she had two MASSIVE (and absolutely beautiful) pit bulls. We slept on the floor in the living room and I woke up with one of her dogs curled up behind my back and the other had wiggled between my arms in the middle of the night. I have two pit bulls. One is legit laying on me and licking my hand right now. The other one is at the end of the bed taking a nap. As a cat person- I’m glad you can have fun with things like this. I’ve never seen a funny group of cat haters. It’s mainly ‘jokes’ about how they swerve to hit cats.

I feel like part of the problem with dog lovers not liking cats is that they approach cats like dogs
Like you can come up to a friendly dog and give em scratches on the ear, and rub their faces, and most won't really care, they understand that you're being friendly and they actually enjoy the attention

Cats are kinda like that really nice girl you desperately want to approach but you're like 95% sure she'll just like reject you outright, or like trying to engage a person that's incredibly introverted--

You can't really just walk up to a cat and start like squishing their face or something, most DO NOT like it and most or the time people just like, pet too hard. Just show them that you're not a threat, offer them your hand to sniff or offer them some food AT A DISTANCE and let them come to you.
Believe me, most cats want to be your friend, they just don't know you yet. They are famous for their curiosity, so just let them be curious about you in their own subtle little way.

I get nervous around cats solely because I don't know how to behave around them. I've had a dog pretty much all my life, and can read them pretty well. Cats are a big ???? My roommates cat seems pretty chill and likes cuddles but I never know when I'm upsetting them until the lash out
A telltale sign that a cat doesn't like what you're doing is usually when they begin to flick their tails(I know there's a pun here), begin to meow at you, or kind of shy away from your touches. Another thing to note about a cat is their ears-- they tend to flatten out or point back when they're uncomfortable or afraid, so just keep that in mind. Like I said, they're subtle.
As a matter of fact, cats, when vocalizing to each other, dont really meow unless a fight is about to break out-- they only really meow at humans as it's one of the only sounds they make that we actually react to-- the rest are mostly outside of our range of hearing.
Picking out which meows mean what, therefore, is a vital skill to learn when building relationships with cats.

17:50 my grandma would do this too, shed let her dog literally drink her spit because her crazy ass thought "if i do that, shell think im her mom and never run away." So it just became a daily thing, even after shed ran away a few times.

I don't care if you just dislike an animal, whether it's dogs, cats, birds, whatever. People have preferences, good for you. But if you either take that hatred to extremes (like abusing animals or being rude/hateful to any owners) or use said hatred to declare yourself superior, then we're gonna have a major problem.
PS: I'm both a dog and cat person. They are both perfect in my opinion. Lol
