Some very interesting, decentralized structures that exist precisely to actualize the individual, and simulation the community: NA & AA meetings. The community is based on much more than temperance values. And they are self supporting, they are directly democratic in administration, and delegates are elected upwards for representation beyond the Dunbar number. But Curiously, all the higher end group structures that represent larger geographies all exist in service of (*not* to govern over) the individual groups (meetings). And these meetings are fully autonomous in their own affairs, voluntarily democratic, self supporting, and ethics based. If the structure could be scaled out to include housing and more general economic activity (some do- charity, community work), this could be a viable self governance option.
