    "you can't tokenize systemic value"
    Whole new level of based.
I'm a survivor of childhood narcissistic abuse from my mom and stepdad. One of the things that I really really struggle with is connecting with people on a "I just like you so I want to be with you and hang out with you" kind of level.
This Saturday I had a really long conversation with my aunt where I realized, more or less that I was attempting to tokenize the value of the relationships in my life. And that's why I have struggles connecting with people.
I find it really really Interesting how he defined basically my relationship struggles from this amazing macroeconomic lens.
Brilliant guest you guys should keep having him on!

Evolutionary vs revolutionary is an interesting mental fence to build. Careful to not construct it such that it can only function as a Chesterton's Fence. Those fences are built by the desperate death cries of an agency that is on it's death bed.
I fricken love you so much, Daniel.

I have to say, I have been hooked to these podcasts. I have been through all of them once, and some of them even two or three times, to really grasp and understand the content. Interesting guests, and mind expanding content. Thank you

Absolute brilliant insight & articulation of such complex concepts , if only we could clone this man, what a more wonderful world we’d inhabit. Thank you for providing this platform so that we can bask in this amazing spiritual intelligence.

He does such a good job of explaining where we are, it also explains why we won’t choose the fork that leads to our surviving to control our own evolution. Those winning the current game (think Besos & his ilk) have massive incentives to ignore the need for change and to prevent when others expose it, otherwise they lose power (these are not naturally nice folks). So, the most powerful actors will delay changes until it is too late...catastrophe ensues. The "control our own evolution" path sounds much more interesting, but it seems optimistic to think we can drive toward a cliff for millennia, then turn on a dime at the last second. Some humans will probably survive; we are quite adaptable. Maybe enough wisdom will persist into the next dark ages so that the new civilizations that pop-out the other side will do better.

We don't need a new system. We need the one that used to exist. We don't need new ideas. We need the old ones.

Amazing piece, thank you and I agree wholeheartedly. Your definition and identification of love being central, a deep caring about the general well being of all living things, without it we will self destruct. As technology creates "god" like power, we have to wield that power with that definition of love or we are well and truly f*cked. Thank you for sharing this.......

always love to hear from daniel. but i disagree with him about the value of gold. gold's intrinsic value is determined by it's natural characteristics that make it one of the best substances to act as "money".

Humanity is doomed by itself and given our current state of consciousness is incapable of creating an Omni win win scenario in time to save ourselves. It will not happen unfortunately.

Wish he would swear :( . Reason is that a swear isn’t an accurate adjective, it’s a generalization to say something, and swearing don’t depict thoughts clearly. - not that that a swear is a bad word, LOL
