How to clean your Hydro Flask and get rid of that funky smell

- In this video we go over how to clean your Hydro Flask. These same steps can be applied to any other metal water bottle or cup.
You can use white distilled vinegar and baking soda to clean your bottle, or if you are lazy like me get some Bottle Bright tablets to clean it for you.

lol right. I literally only wear ONE skrunchie to school and I carry my hydro flask and then everybody is like: Sofia are you a VSCO girl? 🤩

baking soda it's effective. and you see those rubber in the rim take them off and clean them. they are usually the culprit of the smell like 90% of the time
It’s also effective if use baking soda and bleach but it taste a little funny

PSA: You can substitute Bottle Bright for Denture Cleaner tablets! They are essentially the same thing just marketed to different people.

Got a pack of UNSCENTED ones for my retainer and apparently now my old canteen. Yes, an old canteen issued in panama during the 80s. I can’t stand the taste of mint in my water, I’m fine with mouthwash and toothpaste, but mint flavored water is the worst.

i have the screw on cap, i can see the screw on cap has rubber and looks like alittle mold. it cant be removed. not sure what to do
figured out mine was smelling because of the rubber sealant on the cap and pulled it off and cleaned that. It was fine after that.

@@navyasharma4151 On hydroflasks, the lids are able to take apart (it has easy instructions to do so) so you can clean them. They collect a lot of gunk and can grow mold!! Make sure you are cleaning them. The pieces go back together like brand new, no issues.

I put coffee in my hydro flask and I left it in there for a while and now when I drink from it it has a nasty coffee aftertaste
I have a coffee hydro. I ended up buying a regular lid for when I want to drink water because the lid is what keeps the coffee taste

I would clean it just to be safe. Make sure you take apart the lid including the red rubber part and clean it!

If you’re gonna put a hot beverage like animal stock or coffee, I recommend a thermos. To keep it hot for longer, before you fill it with soup or whatever you want, put some really hot water in it to warm the insulating materials. I’ve been doing this before hunting trips for years, and even the coldest temperatures in the pocono mountains is not cold enough to make my coffee or soup cold.
