- Larq's self-cleaning water bottle actually works. I was very skeptical that the bottle's self-cleaning UV-C light technology would significantly impact how often I had to clean the water bottle - but I was wrong. I use to get sore throats all the time from not effectively cleaning my bottles, but with this bottle, I can go 2-weeks without a cleaning - without any issues at all.

I have never heard of a sore throat due to reusable water bottles.... I had no idea this was a thing.
It's been an issue for me for years, and I've met a lot of people who had the same issue.

I got a different kind and if I drink normal water I get wicked dehydrated. I was drinking hydration drinks non stop was my only way to feel hydrated. It really does work I can feel it in my body really happy with these bottles because of coronavirus I did not want to go out and buy drinks at the store. My brother bought me this so glad he did helping me alot.
@@jessedupere429 how does the water taste differ from before and after the uv cleaning and do you mean you put water in the bottle then it cleans it and that cleaned water hydrates you ?
I can't speak to the hydration drinks, but I don't find that the water tastes any different before vs after UV cleaning.

I recently got the LARQ bottle but with the filter instead of the UV light. Most of the tap water here in the UK is cleaned and has chlorine in so bacteria isn’t really an issue, but the taste isn’t great. I’m happy to report that the filter does in fact remove chlorine and the metallic taste that you normally taste when drinking straight from the tap!
After watching this, I am debating purchasing the UV cap for the times when I’m out and about camping, or maybe need to make sure the water is bacteria free, before drinking it through the filter cap!
But so far, I’m in love with this bottle, it’s sleek, well built, great to use and I am drinking a lot more water because of it!

I noticed that I started getting a weird issue with my throat since I started hydrating A LOT more often with reusable bottles. I had contracted covid19 in March and quarantine had me stuck at home reusing plastic bottles. Yeah I didnt wash them as often as I should have and I couldn't scrub them out. So who knows how clean they got when I "cleaned" them. Maybe this is what I'm dealing with now. Thanks.

I just want to know is it ideal using these with water bottles like literally pouring the water bottle inside of the larq bottle and clean it or is it safer to grab TAP water in a Gallon holder just clean it with the Larq bottle as I go. I drink about 60 - 80oz of water a day thanks for your feedback
Either should be fine as long as your tap water is normally safe to drink. The LARQ bottle only deals with bacterial growth, and like I said in my video, I'm not sure I would trust it to purify unclean (lake, stream, etc) sources.

If you want the statistics on it, you'll have to check the website. I think they claimed it kills 99.9% of bacteria with the regular cleaning cycle and more with the adventure mode.
I never wash my bottle, is that bad? Can you define how you know you got a "sore throat" from your water bottle & not something else?
I get sore throats randomly and I have no idea why. I initially thought it was because of coffee acidity, then diet, but now is it my water bottle?!?!
I'm very confident it was from my water bottle. Every time I would re-use a bottle for 3-5 days I would get a sore throat. If I washed regularly it wouldn't be a problem, but when I got slack on the washing it would come back. Just a matter of trial and error.

How do you hand clean it? How do you clean the lid every few days? Wipe? Soap?
I clean it every week or 2, just like any other water bottle - hand wash in the sink with a bottle brush, sponge and soap ✌️

Hi Alex, unfortunately, with COVID and working from home, I found I wasn’t using it as much. It does still appear to be working, though I have multiple and one cap did end up failing on me after about a year.

Hi Tyler. I use the LG 32UL950 4k monitor, and I've really enjoyed it since switching from a dual 27" setup. It has thunderbolt USB-C connection to charge your laptop while connected, but only up to 60W - so it doesn't really charge my 15" MacBook Pro consistently (only real issue I've faced).

@@JakeReevesVideo Oh that's one hell of a monitor and beyond what I need. As much as it would be nice to have for my 2019 MBP, my primary use is for turning my 2011 MBP into a desktop - that computer only supports a max res of 2560 x 1600.
@@tylerlougheed569 I really enjoyed the BenQ 27" ones I had before that. They had a resolution of about that output as well. I'm not sure I would go up to 32" if you can't do 4k because it becomes easier to discern pixels at that point, so 27" would be the max I'd do. 👍

I would still recommend cleaning it every few weeks. It does a really good job overall keeping the water fresh, but it is not an infinite solution to washing.

As I mentioned, you do still need to wash the water bottle; however, the UV cuts down the bacterial growth within the bottle.
Amazon has these for $35. Works just as well.

You still have to clean the bottle regularly, so the lip is usually left to scrubbing, but with the UV-C light you can cut down much of the bacterial growth inside the bottle. Something that I've noticed has mad a difference for me ✌
