Dee Snider is absolutely brilliant. He went into the hearing and they expected a stoned idiot but they got one of the most well mannered and well spoken people that are in the industry. It was a sight to behold.

You should show her Dee Snider and John Denver testifying before Congress in 1985 on proposed legislation to put warning labels on music. But make sure she hears the song Rocky Mountain High first to better understand Denver's testimony. A clip of Snider's comments on Denver's testimony is also priceless.

Completely agree. He owned Congress. He knew what he was talking about and he did it on his own terms. Hair all over the place. Denim instead of a suit. He schooled the lot of them.
P.S. show her that clip from National Lampoon's Animal House 😂😂😂

I was going to suggest the exact same thing Robert!! People mistake metalheads (or even hard rock) for "unthinking Grunts and Uggs " all the time and it is so very, very far from the truth. Simple fact of the matter, don't try to fight with a single Gen X'er, let alone a group of us, cause we're not gonna take it.

When I wax a teen I worked as a dishwasher in a truckstop near the Ohio Pennsylvania State line. Twisted Sister came into the restaurant after a concert in Pittsburgh still made up for the stage. I heard one truck driver say to another. "What the he'll is that?" The other driver said, "That's some guys that made more money tonight than you and I will make in 10 years." Seemed like descent guys.

The 80s were the best time for campiness. Having lived during that period I can say for certain that MVs such as the Twisted Sister did not raise any eyebrows at all. Guys in rock bands all had long, curly, messy hair, and many of them had mascaras as well. The song was great and that's all that was needed to make it a hit.

Dee Snider got me through the mental abuse my father inflicted upon me. That song was my release, when I came home from spending time with my father I would put my 45 of that song on my stereo, crank it and sing along at the top of my lungs. So, thank you Dee for helping me get through the hard days in my life.

Great reaction!! My sister got me into Twisted Sister when I was 6 (she was 19). She got this cassette, and I won't deny, I was more than intrigued at the cover art - this guy in makeup, black & pink spandex, chewing on a large bone! I was immediately taken with this song - played it ALL THE TIME! As I got more into the album, realized that this really isn't the best song on it! Tracks like Stay Hungry (title track), The Price, I Wanna Rock, Don't Let Me Down, Burn In H3ll - all WAY better - but it was the MTV era, so this video got TONS of play!
    Love me some Sister!! Cheers!

Dee Snider actually had a morning show in Hartford, Connecticut in the early 2000s. It was on 104.1 WMRQ, and simply called Dee Snider Radio, or DSR. It was fantastic! It was an eclectic, but perfect cast of four main people in the studio. You can (maybe still) find a few things on UA-cam from the show, and I believe a while back someone was putting together a library of shows that you can hear online.

Funny Alexis compares the video to drag. Dee Spider used to say in interviews that if you want to shock the audience and you're a big swarthy guy, what do you do? You come out in full makeup and wearing a nighty. That shocks people! Heavy metal was always meant to shock. Alice Cooper did it first, then kiss, Twisted, etc. Motley kinda bridged the gap between shocking and glam. Incidentally, glam still shocked many people, including my dad. 😂

I had Dee Sniders picture in my trapper keeper at school, which was my main folder that had a plastic zip lock pouch on the front where you could put a picture in. Not 100% sure on the yr.. i wanna say 2012 or 2013, Twisted was at RockUSA.. the were head lining the last day. Normally, the bands went for just about an hour. Dee said they were NOT doing just an hour. Then went for almost 3 hours, till the Sheriff's Dept told them, they had to wrap it up... Noise issues...🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 The crowd loved Twisted.. and all of Twisted loved the crowd. I wanna rock, was changed a bit.. hehe.. to... i wanna f***. that was almost a 20 min song, by the time Dee finally wrapped that one up. God, the memories of that night. They also went around the entire camping area, visiting as many people as they could. EVERYONE said, how nice the entire band was when they went out to the public. Unfortunately, i didnt get the chance to meet them. Life is just funny that way sometimes... LOL

Dee Snider allowed Criss Angel to use a stripped down acoustical version of this song for his HELP(Heal Every Life Possible) Charity. It’s a pretty emotional music video and a complete 180 from this video.

The only way she could truly get the intro to this song is if she were to see Animal House. RIP JIm Belushi, gone but not forgotten

Back when you still could yell at another team in High School.
A guy was shooting a free throw.
The fan section started singing .
You're not going to gonna make it, No, your're not gonna make it.
