Nuwerus, the town whose rugby team Worsie Visser wrote a song about! What a wonderful country South Africa is and such a privilege to be watching these videos off the beaten track. Thank you again for taking us to these places
We never even knew about Nuwerus until we started planning our route and we were so happy we decided to visit the town and stay over! 😁 We didn't know about the Worsie Visser song, but will certainly make a point of finding it and listening to it, it would mean so much now that we've been there! 🎤 Thank you for watching our videos! 👌🏻
Love a flask of one's favourite hot beverage while on the road. Part of the whole 'padkos' vibe. 😁 Bakinumpelis is quite a unique place, we enjoyed our time there. 👑
Hi guys, I would just like to say how much I appreciate all your videos and blogs. I have recently had to do my tourist guide project and found your videos were a really great way of getting a feel for all the amazing places you've visited, valuable insight. You both really capture the ambience of places and reflect it well. With huge gratitude and thanks. Please keep up the great work you both seem to love doing.....
ou should, that sounds like great fun! 🤩 Perhaps you could go all the way to Springbok, it was just a little too far for us for the time we had remaining.
Funny how hungry one gets in the middel of the Karoo. Everytime I am out there, I have eaten like a starving sailor! And never gained weight. I dont think calories count out there. And food is so much yummier, eaten sitting sitting on a rock with all that champagne air around you. Beautiful place you stayed in. Dont like the toilet in the bedroom! I like my lavatorial privacy.
It was a fantastic place we stayed at with such attention to detail. We don't mind the loo in the bedroom that much, but they did give us another whole extra room with a private bathroom just in case. 🚽 Super nice people! 👌🏻 We're always hungry while travelling and it's very often a struggle to remember to eat 'proper' food while on the road. 🥗😁
The name Bitterfontein is wat Governor Simon van der Stel named the place way back in 1685 on his way to the "Copper Mountains" (Springbok). In 1931 a small bag of diamonds (value £80 000) from Kleinsee on its way to Capetown was stolen out of the Post office. Town also well-known for is granite, called "Bitterfontein Green"
That structure with the beam and Block & Tackle just after the 7 minute time stamp is probably a pump station? Submersible pumps normally need to be removed for periodic maintenance, the structure just facilitates matters. It is probably for potable water as opposed to waste water treatment? Not sure?
You may very well be right that it's a pump station, but I honestly don't have any idea. 🤔 Your explanation makes a lot of sense, we have noticed that some of these small towns obtain their water supply from underground water sources and would therefore require submersible pumps. 💧
It really was a great place to stay with very unique decor. 😊 Thank you for the kind compliment, we love every moment on the road, so there's not much to complain about. 🤩 We're both in our fifties. 😁🚗

Blue skies and a road lined with Palm trees…. Wow 👏
I love the accommodation. Very nice. Would not have expected so much luxury in such a small place.
Agreed, no wonder it's called Bakinumpelis, right! 🕌 The whole place is decorated beautifully with such attention to detail.
Sitting like that, having a bite, is awesome. So much open space. I love it
And we are convinced our grub tasted better because of where we ate it! 😁🍔🥪
I took a flask with on my trip for the coffee breaks to have with the sarmie 😁 stayed at Buckinumpelis too ! Love that part of the world.

I just love how there’s beautiful churches in these very small towns!!! Like is the focal point! Just brilliant!!!!
That rooster and chicken, so cute
You guys are great. We so enjoy your videos. Thank you
Thank you so much! 😊 Our only wish is that you enjoy watching as much as we enjoy travelling! 🚗😁
Very interesting I loved the huge rocks amazing. Thank you
We're always fascinated by those huge rocks and how they obviously rolled down from up high. Scary stuff! ⛰️
I am definitely doing a trip like this in the opposite direction... thanks for the video 👍

They were real characters! 🐓🐓😁
Lovely guesthouse. You both are such positive people. How old are you then that you grew up with the telephone exchanges?
