I couldn't care less about brand identity. I'd rather drive something that nobody else is driving or driving something that makes other people scratch their head as to what I'm driving.
Get an '04, '05 or '06 pontiac GTO, or an 08 or 09 pontiac G8. Unusual cars, good quality, good performance, and being 8-13 year old Pontiacs, not very expensive. Or get a newer Chevy "SS". Same car as the G8 but newer and sold by GM under the Chevy label.
I am a car engineer. This is one of the best reviews. This guy knows how to review the cars. Reviewed proper aspects of car performance. Nice pictures and camera jobs too.
Had this 5.0 vehicle for 4-plus years now. Its been a great, dependable vehicle that is not only provides a comfortable (luxurious) ride, but has enough power to get up & go! Love it!
I gotta say, these reviews are FAR and AWAY the best on UA-cam. The perfect length, everything is covered thoroughly but not dwelled upon. I LOVE that you and your mechanic buddy got underneath it and showed us that fantastic underbelly. I think I'll pick up a 2016 in two years....for about $20,000 less. Never buy a luxury car new off the showroom floor - you waste tens of thousands.
For the seats I had no choice but to buy new. I had a new 2014 and could not drive it over 25 miles due to a bad spine. New Genesis seats with POWER SIDE BOLSTERS are a must. Why don't they put them in cars as an option, they do not cost much. Even if they are mechanically activated with a knob.
I had the V8 version in my driveway, a dealer demo with 10k off the price and a good trade in on my Sonota but the wife would not bite. Just a great car! The feature I was tickled with was that it would automatically display the correct speed limit for the road you were driving. As soon as you passed the sign the HUD would display the new speed. I found it very quiet and the sound system was excellent. I would have cruised the wheels right off of it. You made a great point that the off warranty repairs will likely be pretty evil. You are my new favorite review site on youtube well done sir!
I was on my way to a Kia dealership to look at the K-900 when ended up at the wrong dealership which was a Hyundai dealership. Realizing my mistake I proceeded to leave until I seen this white car, that I thought was a Bentley, because of the design and logo. The car was a 2015 Genesis V8 5.0 with tinted windows, moon roof, black 19 inch wheels, the works. The dealership sticker price was 50k for the car, so before a dealer could approach me I jumped back in my car, went to my bank and got a cashiers check for $45k . Went back to the dealership and brought the car. They even towed it to my house. The car does not have any Hyundai logos on it and when I drive it people stare ! Amazing car !
+The Expert good story. I too was in the market for a Genesis, even bought a rear Genesis badge to replace the "H" Logo on the back. I planned on fooling everyone who wouldn't know what I was driving.
vh9network I live in Miami so lots of tourist and even the locals stare and take pictures of my custom Genesis. Everyday someone says nice car or love the Bentley.I even get my car parked in the V.I.P section next to Rolls Royces, Lambos, and other luxury and exotics by valet parking, Women in Miami assume I am rich and do their best to one day get behind the wheel of my car LOL. Great investment if you ask me.
The Expert I think it is a good investment. I'm kicking myself in the head for not sticking for a Genesis and getting an Audi A3. After spending enough money on this car to get it reasonably optioned, I could have got a base S3. But not only that I'm finding so many features not even available for my A3 but available Euro/India/Africa A3s. Fuel economy options like an Eco mode is not even available to my A3 here in the US. My last Hyundai Sonata had an Eco mode. I don't like the Germans practice of excluding US out on tech. Wish I knew this ahead of time I would have just got a Genesis.
+The Expert you can buy it without the Hyundai logo ? only the genesis logos ? how about it power , does it have sport mode , good acceleration ? handling ?
Wow, my first time watching one of your reviews. It's excellently produced. You offer opinions without going the "my opinions are fact" route and you didn't downplay the Genesis next to its German/Japanese competitors like so many others. Definitely subscribing.
Depreciation is good and bad. For those of us who are comfortable buying a low mileage two or three year old car, it's a gift. More than that, it's an opportunity to get into a truly unique vehicle at a price that is about the same as a Maxima.
Sean you are spot on..... bought my used 2015 V6 3.8 Genesis Tech Package at $ 24K , retail was $ 58 plus tax 13 % sales tax. Depreciation is good if you find a clean 3-yr old used car Love the car how it drives ....
@@grizzlyman329 I can answer that. I bought a 2015 V6 with 39K miles 10 months ago for $24K out the door. And I love it. It's smooth, quiet, plenty quick enough for my needs, handles well, and overall quality is excellent. I don't care much for the Lane Keep Assist System (gets confused if the street lines are not good, doesn't want to let you intentionally change lanes unless you first signal, can get confused by some left-turn lane situations, etc.), so I usually keep that turned off. But the rest of the tech is very good and easy to use (I really love the auto-adjusting cruise control). Bottom line: I recommend, especially considering the price.
@@grizzlyman329 during the 2 years have done nothing except oil and filter changes, enjoy long drives , absolutely love this car.the Koreans have nailed it. It is a keeper.if you cN find one buy it, it will be all worth it.
Let's not forget that the Tau engines are also engines that have TONS of custom/aftermarket upgrade potential as well, and ditto for the transmission and exhaust system...the Hyundai Genesis/Genesis G80/Kia K900 5.0 are true sleeper muscle sedan projects.
Just bought one of these. wanted a comfortable commuter (Im 6'5")that wouldn't break the bank.. Went with the 3.8 for better fuel economy... Averaging 28mpg. Absolutely love it.
The combination between music, camera angles and slow motion, makes time literally slow down, I feel like I’m in a Micheal Mann movie.. excellent job folks, you guys just ooze intelligence and refinement. I’m a 73 year old child basically and love to drive, from my 1963 MGB in high school, to a 1965 Pontiac GTO, 1968 Chevrolet chevelle SS 396, or 1967 327 vette in the Army, I was hooked on power and performance. My expectations changed as I got older and became more involved in Athletics on the professional level as a pro ski racer in the 1970s. Now it was all about line and transitioning early, minute edge angle changes at 60-70 miles an hour on a pair of skis hones your micro movement skills, anyway I was looking for vehicles that more represented performance and road hugging abilities than brute power, so I got a 1970 240z, great car until the rear broke loose and I totaled it. Then my brother on my recommendation got a 1993 white NSX, wow it was like sitting in a jet fighter with speed and handling unlike anything I had driven before. So I just wanted to give you some background to see where I’m coming from, I now own what I thought was an incredible buy for the buck.. a 2015 Genesis coupe 3.8 Rspec, love the car for all the reasons listed above. I really value your opinion and would love you guys to test one and see what you think. Thank you again for your insightfully produced mini movies🤓. Karel.
I bought a white V6 fully decked out. Love it so far and your review played an important part in feeling comfortable buying it (plus having a friend as a mechanic in the back of the dealership). Love your reviews, and especially love the under car assessments. Have 2 1/2 months / 4k kms (about 2500 miles) on it and love it so far. Feels so safe and secure on the highway.
@@e60king59 These cars don't have the potentially-explosive theta engines. They may not have lexus reliability but they've more reliable than the Germans.
I can give you an update... I bought a 2015 V6 AWD genesis ultimate in October of 2020 with 53K miles. Fast forward to March 2022. I've put on 21K miles. Positives has more luxury and convenience features than the average $70,000 car today. Seats are beyond comfortable. I also own a brand new BMW X1 if I'm spending more than 30 minutes in the car I always pick the Genesis for comfort. I've had zero powertrain issues. I am glad I purchased an extended warranty though. I had to replace the head unit and 2 sensors in the first 75 days of ownership. The repair bills were nearly $3,800 over 2 visits. $1,300 more then I paid for warranty so highly recommended. The car is not a sports car! If the car was Happy from happy Gilmore it's happy place is between 4-6 out of 10. It's just engaging enough for you to enjoy passing econo boxes on the freeway with ease. The turn in is smooth, but carry to much speed into a turn and she will let remind you that you don't need to beat that S3. You've already won your driving a Genesis! This car has the best premium Audio of any car that doesn't have a 6 figure price tag! I notice some mild plastic flexing in the form of minor rattles coming out of drive ways and sharp 90 degree turns. But what 7 uear old car doesn't have a little bit of that. Only major service I've done is brakes and tires. The Ibiza blue is very rare and gorgeous i get looks all the time. all the AARP members that bought these cars new got them in grey, white , black, tan, and burgundy. If you buy one now with milage below 80K for around 20-22K over the next 5 years you might lose 5 grand in depreciation in that time. Anyone have questions let me know. Lastly, this car has a snow mode! Nobody mentioned it to me until I read the manual. I've had 2 acuras 1 Honda, a bmw and a Toyota. This car has the best snow performance ( on all season tires).
@@AustinF516 I can provide an update as well for @brendenwatkins5207. I've purchased a 2015 Genesis 5.0 in July of 2021. The car performed very well, and don't regret my purchase. The car has never let me down. There were a few repairs that needed to be done and one of these repairs was a coolant leak that began happening at 105,000 miles. The issue was resolved, and the car continued to run perfectly fine. I ended up trading in the vehicle last week at 117,449 miles and still running strong for a 2018 Genesis G80 5.0 HTRAC. This vehicle is a vast improvement over the 2015. I am not going to describe how much better the vehicle is compared to the 2015 vehicle unless anyone of you are really interested.
In my opinion, this is not only a milestone for Hyundai, this a milestone for the industry as a whole. This car will give Mercedes, BMW, Jaguar, Audi, Lincoln, Acura, Lexus, Cadillac, Infiniti, and Maserati a run for their money. This car will redefine the luxury cars segment and make it much more affordable and of a great reliability as well as value. It is a new brand, so basically people will find some difficulty to recognize it at first, but it will definitely go somewhere in a short period of time. Thanks for the video; you guys are doing a wonderful job.
+beatsByZlaya Lmao, you're a dumbass, talking straight out of your ass. Hyundai actually makes reliable vehicles. I can talk from experience, Hyundai is truly underestimated. American cars are trash that fall apart too soon, Hyundai isnt American, they use quality parts.
beatsByZlaya You're dumb as fuck dude. Hyundai is already catching up to Toyota. They are tough cars, my 2012 Sonata has taken a beating many times, it runs just like brand new. The only problems Ive had are bulbs blowing out. For a $18k car? That price is almost way too good. Pay it off in less than 5 years and it will still be running smooth.
AlanChavezDawg Hyundais are pieces of shit. You are spewing this shit out of your mouth so you dont feel bad about your purchase. Garbage cars owned by worthless garbage people.
Having owned a 2012 3.8 Sedan, i've been wanting the R-Spec Sedan for some time... But watching this review and seeing comments from actual owners makes me want this year and model v8.
Great review - Objective enough to evaluate the car on its own merits. Yet you infuse enough of your impressions to make it a very interesting review. Mission accomplished - best review of the 2015 Genesis!
Consistently some of the best auto reviews on YT. This channel deserves 10x+ the number of subscribers that it has. Keep up the good work... it is greatly appreciated.
I have one and belive me its one of the best car I never had before I have a bmw 750 il a Mercedes s55 amg and I change for a genesis 5.0 2015 h-track is the best car for the quality price power luxury vehicule bravo !!! Hyundai ....its mervilous..
savagegeese, you have IMO the best online auto videoblog ever...witty, great insight and an encompassing knowledge of the latest cars on the market...and of course, good production values.
It lacks identity because who wants people to know it's a Hyundai. If you can afford a high end cars and want to impress then you don't want people to know your driving a Hyundai.. I would buy it used for the quality and low resale value. I'm not out I to impress. I feel better knowing I stole it and the organial owner took the $ hit.
I bought my 2015 Genesis 2nd Generation White Casablanca Tech package , and just love it. But this was not a knee jerk reaction - After watching your review again and again , which was well done like all your reviews ,thank you for your expertise and no non sense approach. You convinced me to check this car out. Savagegeese you know your subject, I drove down to my local Genesis dealer, and was blown away on my test drive. I admit the decision to drive to Genesis Dealer was a good one... when i drive my Genesis I thank you everyday.!!!!!! This car is really a superb machine- it drives like on rails in snow and we have a lot of it in Newmarket, Ontario. I do like the Lotus inspired suspension, the seats and the interior is indeed very quite. what makes it sweeter as an amazing used car deal - depreciation kicks out and bought at 81 k ms $ 24 k .... (Brand new the retail price was $ 58 k) thank you Savagegeese...... , Watch out BMW, Mercedes, Audi, The Koreans have the right stuff.
Seriously, why don't you have 1,000,000 subs? These reviews are so thorough, so relatable, so informative and so entertaining. First, I clicked for cars I'm considering purchasing - and come out the other end much closer to a decision. I continued clicking cars I'll never buy because this is the best automotive content out there.
Clearly the reviewer prefers the V8 over the V6. But AWD is only available as a V6. Bummer they couldn't squeeze in an AWD test drive and commentary for us folks up north in the snow belt. Still, this is one of the best produced car reviews I've ever seen. Very cinematic. And I love that goose!
***** New coupe? This is the first I've heard of it. In fact, I forgot there was an old Genesis cope (Hyundai's Mustang?). This sounds interesting. Hope we'll be seeing a review when it becomes available. Savage Geese, ahem! ;)
ron bZoom I live in Canada and all our models have HTRAC AWD regardless of engine choice. However, the V8 AWD while sounds good and is a better drive, it is rather thirsty; Canadian cycle (/100km) 17.3l city 10.5l hwy, or US MPG 13city 22hwy. That puts it into the US gas guzzler territory, which the RWD V8 model avoids. Due to that reason alone is why even when I see a Genesis up here in the North it is usually the V6 model.
Trades46 Yikes! 13/22 US MPG? Well, it is a V8 and an AWD. More so, it's a luxury car. But still! Sheesh! For now, I'm enjoying my 2015 Sonata lease. Perhaps in 3 years the Genesis will be a little less thirsty.
This review is so nice. It took me just a few seconds to like this video. Anyone can learn everything about Genesis in this video, it is so nicely done.
This review is very thorough & professional. Very pragmatic professional review. I have the 5.0L V8, but drove the V6 for a few weeks. The V8 is simply awesome quality and very nice seats with great power side bolsters. Great job reviewing these very nice Genesis vehicles. The 1st Generation Genesis seats were normal seats, and not good for a bad spine, but the new 2nd generation Genesis seats are extremely orthopedic.
Most through review I have ever seen in a car!! I have owned a 2015 Genesis V8 for the past 3 years, and I just love the car. You are now my "go to guy" for car reviews. Thanks again. 😎
Trey Swingo I traded it for a Tahoe about 3 months ago. I actually loved it just needed something bigger. Only issue was the panoramic roof had some issues but was repaired through warranty.
Trey Swingo I had to replace 2 and that was because of nails. I only kept it a year and a half. Everything was smooth. I had the 5.0. It’s horrible on gas though and the insurance premium is higher because it’s a sports 🚘
Your reviews hands down have become my favorite this is certainly the best genesis review on the net. You give the serious sideline beginning making it almost movie like and then bring it right back to home awesome job. #Perfection
highly recommend your reviews to everyone. getting under the car and talking about maintenance and explaining brake caliper piston setups etc is extremely useful to consumers such as myself. continue the good work
I miss Scott under the lift with you, his insights and your relationship with him bantering back-and-forth made a great video! Maybe you should invite him back once in a while on your new videos?
The moment I saw you put the car on the lift... I knew I had to subscribe. No one else does this to review a car... Not just a good one... This is the best car review...
I have a 13 Genesis and I did a oil change today and test drove a new 15 Genesis 3.8. It was ok but I will stay with my 13 Genesis which is a great car to me. Dealer wanted 38000 for the one I drove but I told them no way man. I will wait. I don't know but I'm still in love with the first Genesis. Great review though.
Easily the best technical review, thanks for uploading. Great approach for a technical review, experienced mechanic and witty sidekick. Had the 6V for 30 months, perfect car.
On of the best thing i liked about your review, is that you considered both variants, V8-5.0 and the V6-3.8, and to be honest, I have seen a lots of car reviews, and your the first one who actually compared both. Great Video.
I would not buy without an extended warranty. And I would have comprehensive insurance. And I would be prepared for the occasional $1000 sensor repair every now and again. I would also read the genesis owners forums. However, the 5.0 is a true sleeper car and can smoke almost everything it will run into at a traffic light.
Great review. You seem to be getting better with each one and I think your interior reviews of technology, and fit and finish are some of the best out there. I also appreciate that you don't sugarcoat things. Keep them coming!
Subscribed. The 2015 model really shows where Hyundai is going. I have a first generation Genesis Coupe. Inexpensive, but absolutely reliable and a ball to drive. We liked it so much my wife bought a Hyundai. I feel like I spent so little and got so much...to heck with depreciation, I am keeping my Hyundai until I drive it into dust.
Wow your reviews are fantastic. Never seen a reviewer detail the under portion of the car. You should be at the top in no time!! Please keep them coming
tested both the V6 vs V8 extensively (vs KIA Cadenza as well), the V8 was sweet but difficult to justify the extra cost when the V6 gives more than adequate power. Also , the car is a cruiser. I live in DC metro with shitty roads and wost traffic in the US, V8 would go to waste. Out in CA or TX the story may be different, this is a car that wants a highway, preferably a European highway with good surfaces. Excellent review, finally a real car review from a technical perspective. Tks again.
One of the most enjoyable car review channel on UA-cam today. Besides the content itself, I think savagegeese raises the bar for EVERY other review videos out there. Great job and hope you'll do one on the new MB E-class when it comes out.
Unfortunately, UA-cam comments are always going to be a window into how ignorant some people will choose to be. That aside, I give you high praise on your review. It was artfully done and really gave an excellent portrayal of what this car has established for Hyundai. Figures, numbers, and opinions forgotten-in the end, it seems like the car really meant something special to you. Keep this style going-your fans and future fans will appreciate the effort.
I have a 2013 Genesis Rspec with the same 5.0 engine and 8 speed transmission. basically the same drive train as this 2015 model - yet my 2013 is about 500 lbs lighter (quite fast for a 4 door sedan). I have worked on the engine myself and it is really easy to work on. 95,000 miles so far and it drives wonderful. Easily catch people off guard at stoplights! and the 17 speaker Lexicon sound system is the best stock system I have ever heard. Of course you can get some crazy expensive ones from Audi for example but you are paying a ton. my car was $46k brand new. A person can find a 2013 or 2014 5.0 for under $20k now and that is an INSANE bargain. one more edit...the worst thing with my vehicle (previous Genesis vs the one shown in the video) is the seats. Driver seat is ok with all the adjustments but the bottom cushion is 2-3 inches too short and the passenger seat is only a 4 way seat! forward, back then same for the back portion, no other adjustments and no AC seat (only AC driver seat). other than that, good to go - now I am done. go get one of these for anyone who is still reading this. ha!
This video was the major inspiration for me to buy my 2015 Genesis/G80 V8. It said a lot to me to see that in another video, Mr. Goose chose this car as his next purchase, or was going to had it not been for the dealership trying to screw him. In any case, it's an absolute joy to drive, and having now modified the mufflers to allow the V8 to breathe more openly/loudly has solidified the choice as I know no other car would have checked off as many boxes. Years from now I will very likely end up with the later years' Twin Turbo/Sport for the aftermarket and added features, but man do I love my V8!!!
I feel the same way. I purchased a 2015 Genesis 5.0 back in 2021, and as of today, I upgraded to a 2018 Genesis G80 5.0 HTRAC. Almost an entirely different car. In a good way.
Thanks to those plastic aero panels, the car is more quiet, aerodynamic, and most importantly, there's less chance of things chipping away at the paint and allowing salt and water to rust your car right away if you happen to live in Canada.
Im a proud owner of a new 2015 Genesis, yes genesis im am not ashamed of the Hyundai logo but i love the name Genesis . Beautiful car smooth and well design love this video or should i call it a documentary...
I gotta say, this is hands down the best driving experience i have ever had. My respect level for hyundai has increased tremendously!! I can't believe i'm thinking about buying one. I recently had one as a rental and was sold on this car, i was so impressed i didn't want to return it. This was well thought out and perfectly engenered. Just imagine how the equuis feels WOW!! LOVED IT...
Excellent review, very nice car, the problem with the depreciation, as Scott said, a car this price, you lease it. I just got my 2nd 2015 Genesis, the 2nd one is higher trim and I got it for the price of the first one. I could have got an Audi A4 2016 for the same price but I did not even think about it. This car is designed by European, Korean just built it and they did a fantastic job.
My brother picked up the V8 and I got the AWD V6, and I don't entirely agree with your assessment of the V6. In the video that got uploaded, you weren't in sport mode at all when testing the V6, and it makes a *HUGE* difference with the AWD version. The H-TRAC system normally adjusts between 60/40 and 80/20 rear/front, but in sport mode it's between 80/20 and 90/10 (when the wheels aren't slipping), as well as adjusting the fuel injectors, ignition timing, transmission shift points, steering stiffness, suspension response, on and on. It's not remotely comparable to the V8 in sport mode. Another subtle aspect to the V6 that sport mode highlights is that, like you said, the V6 wants to run at higher RPM, but that's because its power band is in a higher range than the V8. So having the shift points set higher (or manually shifting higher) keeps you in the power band longer, and the acceleration is pretty fantastic. The 0-60 is < 1sec more, according to various review sites and testers, which is impressive for being over 100hp less engine. Another reason the sport mode matters so much on the V6 for this kind of comparison. Now if you tested the V6 in sport mode as well and just didn't capture or upload that video, that's fine. We'll agree to disagree, but if not, I wanted to make sure I pointed that out for potential buyers watching this video and for you as well. That said, fantastic review. I agree with basically everything else, but I think the nannies are kind of awesome. Not because I need them but because it's an impressive statement of how ridiculously forward-thinking this car is, even if all the efforts aren't ideal yet. Love this car!
Had the car in sport mode 90% (not shown)of time on V6 and it was also the RWD model. Power was really not an issue, it was just refinement compared to V8 namely driving back to back
People knock the Genesis v8's for not being good in the snow. I live in New England, own a '13 R-Spec 5.0L v8 and it did my research and found it came to getting the best winter tire. I have Bridgestone Blizzaks, keep ESC on, and don't drive like an ass when it snows and I've been fine
This review convinced finally convinced me to pick one up and I have no regrets. The more I drive it the more I love it. Thanks for doing the only good review of this car.
I love how this car still has actual KNOBS that I can use to adjust things while driving instead of having to deal with a touch screen that will distract me. Apart from that, I've been liking what Hyundai is doing with the Genesis series. I currently drive a 2000 Hyundai and I've had great luck with is so far (I'm sure that's a rare thing to have happen), but I would definitely consider sticking with them and going with a Genesis in a few years when I can afford it.
I couldn't care less about brand identity. I'd rather drive something that nobody else is driving or driving something that makes other people scratch their head as to what I'm driving.
Makes sense!
Volkswagen Phaeton
or hyundai equus
Get an '04, '05 or '06 pontiac GTO, or an 08 or 09 pontiac G8. Unusual cars, good quality, good performance, and being 8-13 year old Pontiacs, not very expensive. Or get a newer Chevy "SS". Same car as the G8 but newer and sold by GM under the Chevy label.
charlenepyle gross😂😂
As a die hard Hyundai fan. This review made me happy to see that others are noticing just how much Hyundai have changed

Is it reliable? I'm looking to get 2018 model
@@i.d.6492 It's very reliable. I recently traded in my 2015 Genesis 5.0 for a 2018 Genesis 5.0 HTRAC. I have no regrets.

Definitely love savagegeese’s videos because they show the underside and detailed engine bay it just helps provide so much more info.
The dual exhaust looks good as fuck. You can tell from the underside that it's truly a well built car.

My last Hyundai Sonata had an Eco mode. I don't like the Germans practice of excluding US out on tech. Wish I knew this ahead of time I would have just got a Genesis.
+The Expert you can buy it without the Hyundai logo ? only the genesis logos ? how about it power , does it have sport mode , good acceleration ? handling ?
The Expert I definitely prefer the Genesis vs the k900, lol...good choice.
Wow, my first time watching one of your reviews. It's excellently produced. You offer opinions without going the "my opinions are fact" route and you didn't downplay the Genesis next to its German/Japanese competitors like so many others.
Definitely subscribing.
Thanks for that feedback.
Glad you found some useful info out of it as plenty of effort goes into it.
savagegeese sorry for the late reply but I love the genesis I think it is better than the 300 I want to get the R Spec, is that a good idea?

I love how you show off the under body, it's nice to see where the money went in terms of engineering.

@@mohammadhayatca3244 how's the car so far? I'm interested in getting one.
The format that you have created for these reviews have made them the best on UA-cam by far. Great job.
Thanks been really trying to improve it.

Just bought one of these. wanted a comfortable commuter (Im 6'5")that wouldn't break the bank.. Went with the 3.8 for better fuel economy... Averaging 28mpg. Absolutely love it.

@@uww.v It’s mostly what I watch

These cars don't have the potentially-explosive theta engines.
Thanks for the video; you guys are doing a wonderful job.
yup, until you actually frive and live with a BMW, Merc, Audi, etc. Hyundai makes compromised garbage cars that fall apart too soon
AlanChavezDawg I speak from experience too...Hyundai is below even American cars.
beatsByZlaya You're dumb as fuck dude.
Just found this channel and have to say that the reviews have a surprisingly high standard, really impressed :)

I am getting 18 mpg in town and 24 on the highway with my 2015 5.0 V8. It's a great car!
Having owned a 2012 3.8 Sedan, i've been wanting the R-Spec Sedan for some time...
But watching this review and seeing comments from actual owners makes me want this year and model v8.

Isn't h-trac all wheel drive? I had no idea that the 5.0 V8 was ever available with all wheel drive..🤔
I recently bought one and this car is way more luxurious and much more reliable than my Mercedes.
You got a 2016 one with the signature level ?
Bao Tran lmfaooooo xD, it depends what Mercedes you have tho.

The Genesis is on my shortlist. All specs keep coming back to it
savagegeese, you have IMO the best online auto videoblog ever...witty, great insight and an encompassing knowledge of the latest cars on the market...and of course, good production values.
This is possibly one of the best car review channels.
Genesis ALL DAY EVERYDAY!💯👍🏻
(Brand new the retail price was $ 58 k) thank you Savagegeese...... ,
Watch out BMW, Mercedes, Audi, The Koreans have the right stuff.
Very nice and calming review. You got a cinematographer who is phenomenal in his/her work. Truly awesome camerawork.

Thanks glad you enjoyed. They don't have an AWD model in fleet otherwise I would have tested.
***** strange. Any idea why? A big engine with all wheel drive sounds pretty American to me. Why leave us out?
You Sir have just gained a new Subcriber. PERIOD!!!

How is it holding up
Trey Swingo I traded it for a Tahoe about 3 months ago. I actually loved it just needed something bigger. Only issue was the panoramic roof had some issues but was repaired through warranty.
sweetsuga298 how often did you replace tires
Trey Swingo I had to replace 2 and that was because of nails. I only kept it a year and a half. Everything was smooth. I had the 5.0. It’s horrible on gas though and the insurance premium is higher because it’s a sports 🚘
Your reviews hands down have become my favorite this is certainly the best genesis review on the net. You give the serious sideline beginning making it almost movie like and then bring it right back to home awesome job. #Perfection

This review made my buy a 2015 Genesis 5.0. It’s an awesome car. A lot like an A6, but with an absolute beast of an engine.
Worried about relability...should i bite the bullet and just buy?
I would not buy without an extended warranty. And I would have comprehensive insurance. And I would be prepared for the occasional $1000 sensor repair every now and again. I would also read the genesis owners forums. However, the 5.0 is a true sleeper car and can smoke almost everything it will run into at a traffic light.
Update to 2022 - No major repairs yet and at 100K miles now.
Awesome review, never seen anyone take a look at the undercarriage. Very nice attention to detail!
Great review. You seem to be getting better with each one and I think your interior reviews of technology, and fit and finish are some of the best out there. I also appreciate that you don't sugarcoat things.

this is what a car review should sound and look like. well done.
tested both the V6 vs V8 extensively (vs KIA Cadenza as well), the V8 was sweet but difficult to justify the extra cost when the V6 gives more than adequate power.

Your video production quality is incredibly stunning, I love your videos.
I always enjoy savagegeese review. You are making not just a car review but an art film !
I really like these car reviews. by far the best car reviewer on UA-cam. Great job!
One of the best reviews i've seen in years! Great job!

One of the best luxury sedans available.
Power was really not an issue, it was just refinement compared to V8 namely driving back to back
Fair enough. The V8 definitely has a powerband in lower RPMs so it's a smoother actuation of that power. I can see that comparison :)
Highest quality reviews. Love watching them regardless if I am in the market to purchase.
You really, really deserve more views! Excellent job!

The quality of this video is amazing. Wow I enjoyed your opinion.
