they actually sound pretty good. But I don't think I've ever heard a live version where Bernard doesn't screw up the guitar part. It's almost like he reverts to 1980 when they play this song!
@@sonicdoll99 I've met him several times including a time when my wife was the photographer for a show he did, and he was very nice, a perfect gentleman with a great sense of humor.

Parabéns Bernard Sumner por manter o New Order vivo até hoje. Está no rol das melhores bandas de todos os tempos. São mais de 100 músicas de alta qualidade. Bernard cinquentão mas ainda mandando bem. Viva o New Order FOREVER.

Bass driven band...I truly think we can create from anything...a fine treat to watch him play...:) I think this band accumulated energy from just doing that.
very good sounds, lovely song, so nostalgic mood. It is all very emotional, but it is very sad to not see Peter Hook on stage. I love Joy Division and New Order in the same way..... but this isn't what I want..... sorry.....
Why is hooky not on stage?? I live half an hour away from Manchester where it all started....It rains a lot so the music is melon collie but also genius.....
Dan Pearce he's too busy being a drama queen and letting his son play bass in a glorified cover band, but he quit in 2007 without telling the rest of the band, so they elected to carry on
Michael Sugarplum Peter Hook and the Light played Umbria Rock in Italy last weekend and absolutely smashed a set of Joy Div and New Order classics. Any yes his son Jack was on bass. I have huge love and respect for New Order but would take the Hooky version live any day of the week
My boyfriend and I are going to see them live in Milwaukee, WI. for July 4th weekend in an outside weekend. They belong in an outside venue during the summer. We can't wait… !

I'm from Manchester and yeah Hooky can be a prick and that but he is a brilliant bass player and not having him in New Order is like Sabbath without Ozzy? It doesn't work. He has a unique way of playing the bass, playing it like a lead guitar almost.
What unneverves the most about this comment section is that I saw this band at the Brixton Academy , somewhat prior to this , yeah, walking by Brixton having scored my shite and still had some change , hand in hand with my new Skol 9er ... then I suddenly look at the band playing that night, usually shite , yet , that night it was New Order ... Skol 9er made me bargain for a ticket which is easy to get near the venue in Brixton ... so , I go and check them out , not sure if it´s the same geezer but all I know is that the bass sound was impeccable , no cock ups, perfectly heard, yeah , the kid I saw was just some skinny session kiddo , maybe not even this one cause of stature , yet, the bass parts were pretty great , opening with ´Elegia` , couldn´t believe it, listening to a pretty modernized version of the latter with some pretty abstract visuals ... they were still a force to be reckon with, extremely competent band live, very entertaining ... but yeah, Skol 9ers and lines aside , what is pretty unnerving is reading all these ´No Hooky / No Order` edgemeister comments coming from geezers who have never seen New Order live , with or without Hooky . THAT is pretty fukking unnerving .
'We can't have the bass getting in the way the vocal - Can we?' New Order very sadly stray into 'every other band' territory without Hook. The somewhat OTT nature of his playing was a major and unique part of the group that will never be recovered, so in that sense, New Order should do something completely different as the intensity has gone.
I personally think reverting back to the way Republic sounded would suit them without Hooky. Be a Rebel was actually a decent song imo, so if they went back to dance-style music that'd be something, I suppose.
ya, wtf, Bernie seems to always be a slosh on stage. and ya, Hooky also sings better! see first live performance of Ceremony 1981, Bernie is shy/nervous/drunk/all of the above?
just once would I love to hear Bernard not screw up the lyrics. the first time is supposed to be " what she heard, the things she said, the times she cried, to frail to wake this time". the second time through is "avenues all lined with trees, she pictures me and then she starts watching. he screws it up every time I see a performance of new order. otherwise great performance.
LOL @0:40 - What's with that face at 0:42? What's with this bass player? Right straight out of the 80's. That pose he makes. Reminds me so much of someone. Can't place it... #Cocky
i love peter hooks playing but this sounds ok , they fell out with each other and the band has to carry on , yerah its not the same without Hooky but is Iron maiden the same without Paul dianno , or Hawkwind without Robert Calvert , its just a band and they have to still carry on , lets not forget these guys carried on after the suicide of ther singer and they did pretty good without him , I prefer Joy Division to New Order but thats not to say they are not a great band because they are , even without Hooky .
Whereas everybody in this band are extremely talented I really think that the brilliance of Joy Division and New Order is largely due to Ian and Hooky, the latter proving his worth in both varients, note I'm ignoring Warsaw. Etc... That being said the remaining members are unique and Morris is a legendary drummer I just prefer Ian and Peter
stephen morris is still a beast!

no hook no order
no Bernard no Order.
Well said
Besides, Gillian is handling bass duties quite admirably- she’s my hero! ❤️👍
Can Hooky may be a better singer but Bernard is definitely the key; the primary and irreplacable songwriter.
