"Jace Ballerina." "On his way into the battlefield, Rhuan stole a school bus and drove it through a bank." "bbrrruuuuguhrggrhruh" - (Ruhan attacking) welcome back, Mr. West.
You don't know how great of a feeling it is to come home after a long harsh day of midterms and find a new Commander Versus video up. I've watched every single one of these multiple times. As far as Magic content goes, this is the one I look forward to the most whenever something new is out. Keep 'em coming!
Tbh 3 years on, i think the new guys have really come into their own and become funny, it just took them some time, but I still love the old guys, the guys had a different dynamic.
Alright, great commander game! Welcome back Danny!! In case anyone is still wondering about that Opalescence, it should turn all OTHER non-aura enchantments into creatures (it doesn't become a creature itself), but that wouldn't make a big difference in that game. Actually I think your games are funnier 'cause you guys don't necessarily follow all the rules by the book, keeping the casual spirit of commander alive. Good job, hope to see another game soon!
So did anyone else catch that David played that Clifftop Retreat illegally? There wasn't a Plains or Mountain on the field so it would've come onto the battlefield tapped. Check 45:15. So he wouldn't have been able to summon Zedruu until next turn :P I just thought it was funny.
future corner case tricks for Zedruu players, cyclonic rift says don't control, so at around 10:02 Assume he had the right lands, he could have donated the journey to nowhere to fizzle cyclonic rift
These guys played Opalesence and a bunch of O-rings and journey into nowheres and made it out relatively unscathed. As of December 2014, the current mistakes include plays such as tapping gravern cairns for five mana (caged sun in play) and getting Hallowed Fountain off of a Verdant Catacombs (look it up kids). Still enjoyable either way.
I don't know if Danny's challenge was answered yet, but the perennial classic "How Bizarre" was performed by OMC, aka the Otara Millionaire's Club, from the fine nation of New Zealand.
Opalescence is other non-Aura enchantments, so the Unquestioned Authority in G3, and the Darksteel Mutation in G1 were not creatures, nor was the Opalescence itself
Unquestioned Authority at 57:07 is an Enchant creature Enchantment better known as an aura, Opalescence doesn't affect Enchant creature/aura enchantments only Global enchantments so that enchantment wouldn't become a creature and so it would just stick onto target creature and stay there, and yes he would've drawn a card even if it was a global enchantment the same reason why the later played Oblivion ring still exiled target permanent and became a 3/3.
Unless I missed something, but I think game 3 was seriously misplayed. 1) Opalesence makes all OTHER enchantments creatures. Opalesence itself doesn't become a creature. 2) Opalesence says GLOBAL enchantments become creatures. Aura/Enchant Creatures are not global and thus to not become creatures, and thus will enchant whatever creature they target.
Opal Essence doesn't make Oblivion Ring not resolve? sure he becomes a creature but the effect still occurs and does not leave until oblivion ring leaves play so the effect does not fizzle... GEEZ
DWest missed lethal the turn his Ruhan came out from under the sphere. If he cast Boros Charm on it for double strike before equipping the Lightning Greaves then that would have been 21 a turn earlier.
+David Brož (Pinguanec) sadly McDarby went to work for wizards a while back, and Danny left for something or other, I would love to see these guys today playing, but alas, that fate was not to be...
Ok danny could play clifftop in game 3 because of volcanic island. It is a mountain island card and works with clifftop. Stop complaining before u read cards

"Minamono, doo doo do do do"
I hope they never stop Muppet-ing, haha!

David McDarby and Commander are the reasons I subscribed to this channel.
Tbh 3 years on, i think the new guys have really come into their own and become funny, it just took them some time, but I still love the old guys, the guys had a different dynamic.
Danny West, you are a king among men.
I wish they'd bring David back for commander.. SOoooo fun to listen to.
James "Oh Captain" Cunningham He honestly annoyed me and I'm sure I'm not the only one lol
SnowCoveredPlainswalker Too each his own I guess lol
James "Oh Captain" Cunningham He's no longer an official SCG buyer so sadly that won't happen.
I want him to return just because he's funny however sometimes he isn't funny so
+James "Oh Captain" Cunningham mcdarby is love mcdarby is live
David: "Hnng!" *Draws two cards*
Danny: "How'd you do?"
David: "I get a draw step right?" *Draws Cyclonic Rift*
"We could do worse."
Screw saying first. Danny West is back!!!!
"I was at the airport with him last week and he headbutted some lady" omg I'm crying that's so funny

The best thing about it was that we mocked the seldom-seen term "global" only seconds before ignoring its meaning altogether.
So did anyone else catch that David played that Clifftop Retreat illegally? There wasn't a Plains or Mountain on the field so it would've come onto the battlefield tapped. Check 45:15. So he wouldn't have been able to summon Zedruu until next turn :P I just thought it was funny.
I believe the best part of the video is Danny West's Ruhan impersonation, hands down.
You guys should do Mogis vs. Iroas; all the flavor.
Bring Zedruu back for a 4 player vid. I'd pay good likes to see that.
"Um, attack step. GYARGH!"
I love me some Danny West.

45:10 David misplayed a clifftop retreat.
Beat me to it.

Yay, Danny is back =)
At around 59:00 Danny attacked with opalescense, opalesence isn't a creature.
Opalescence is other non-Aura enchantments, so the Unquestioned Authority in G3, and the Darksteel Mutation in G1 were not creatures, nor was the Opalescence itself
These games are so much more enjoyable to watch than the present videos.
The worst thing about this video is that now we have to wait for another one
Unless I missed something, but I think game 3 was seriously misplayed.
1) Opalesence makes all OTHER enchantments creatures. Opalesence itself doesn't become a creature.
2) Opalesence says GLOBAL enchantments become creatures. Aura/Enchant Creatures are not global and thus to not become creatures, and thus will enchant whatever creature they target.
Danny needed a plateau in game 2 to activate return to dust. Its 2 white and he only had 1 from the signet
i would love to see you guys do a Bruna Light of Alabaster deck tech or vs game
Would the Kobolds you could make from Kher Keep count for Zedru's ability if you exchanged them?
Yes, Zedruu counts permanents, not cards.
God i love that they do a Discworld reference in this video xD
Also loved the Ruhan sound effects ^_^
Sorry, I'm new, I didn't understand who (and how) won the first game...
Question:
I thought Opalescence does not affect aura (creature enchantments), right?
BBD, CVM, Danny West, and mcdarby in free for all commander.
No matter how many times I watch this, I always laugh when they flip the Rest in Peace. Not even sure why.
David missed his Akroan Horse trigger around 12:00 or so minutes.
What's the name of the land that Danny West played turn 2 during game 2
reflecting pool
Ruhan has the best voice-acting a Wizards of the Coast product has ever seen.
Opal Essence doesn't make Oblivion Ring not resolve? sure he becomes a creature but the effect still occurs and does not leave until oblivion ring leaves play so the effect does not fizzle... GEEZ
How many times did they say opalescence affects global enchantments only?
That means non-aura.
I hope I get to see your guys' take on Sen Triplets soon, I love that card.
DWest missed lethal the turn his Ruhan came out from under the sphere. If he cast Boros Charm on it for double strike before equipping the Lightning Greaves then that would have been 21 a turn earlier.
Love that your using the commander replacement effect now danny.....go also
Can one of you please put together a goblin tribal deck with Ib, Halfheart as the Commander?! I wanna see that deck put together by a pro
What is the opening song called. It's so good. Also, Danny west is awesome
You are awesome guys and very entertaining!
+David Brož (Pinguanec) sadly McDarby went to work for wizards a while back, and Danny left for something or other, I would love to see these guys today playing, but alas, that fate was not to be...
@ 32:30 Dat board though...
Guys, can you please do a commander vs. with the Kamigawa Dragons?
(Yosei, Ryusei, Jugan, Keiga, and Kokusho's banned in EDH...)
that sad soldier... XD i'm cracking up!
these are the only games i ever see that have so many cards out. at least ones that arent tokens
Playing a commander that has to attack without trample is far more powerful in a game where you forget EVERY SINGLE FORBIDDEN ORCHARD TRIGGER.
He was playing Exotic Orchard, not Forbidden Orchard. Exotic Orchard doesn't give you tokens.
Blue white red decks: takes 18 minutes to deal any damage #ControlDecks
you were not allowed to re cast flashback cyclonic rift because you ahave to exile it the first time
Kept forgetting horse triggers lol
Minamino... dududududuuuuu
That collectors edition Tundra though ;)
"You're supposed to be Greathearted."
Haha.
Hanna is dead from Elesh Norn. That really could have helped you Danny
clifftop retreat coming into play untapped to cast zedruu in game 3
Danny West is my hero.
We need more Raka generals; Hell, we need more enemy color generals (Except for Ceta, because they're already too over-powered)!
CETA is overpowered? Dude, ANA is overpowered. Mimeoplasm. Damia. Freaking Vorosh.
Maelstrom Wanderer speaks for himself. Then there's Riku, who gets instant hate; and Animar...
KTK has your back
"shazbot!"
these two were so fun
That Hanna died with Elesh..
I have a request: try out Heidar, Rimewind Master
50:00 lolol
Opalecscence doesn't work on auras. Says it right on the card.
References Disturbed and Strapping Young Lad... hoorah
Noone commenting about how they forgot hanna dies to elesh-norn?
'kay...
58:47 59:10
Doesn't Forbidden Orchard produce a dude when you tap it?
Oh ok. I couldn't see clearly enough
opalessence only animates non-aura enchantments. Also, it doesn't animate itself
Opalescence doesn't turn auras into creatures.
Opalescence doesn't actually become a creature
How Bizarre - OMC. The world never did find out how the story ended.
Hey - buy the rights.
Minanino is from sesame street
A German Card there :D "Reise nach nirgendwo"
danny west finally back
I bet judges loose there mind watching all the missed triggers and un/intentional cheats. XD
darby leaving is terrible tolaria Dwest if your reading this, please lead this show now
Request: Skithiryx!
wooooooow, statecraft in Zedruu, such broken >_
God that game became extremely confusing!
DANNAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY :D
that was pretty freaking great
Why does it take so long between videos! Oh well this was a good one.
He could have donated the stuff he was rifting to dodge
Opalescence isn't a creature.
Zur the enchanter vs scion of the ur dragon
Minamino dududududu
numot vs sharuum
yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay Chileee!
So many miss plays in that first game.
judt zedruu
make a separate channel for versus videos!
Cheated again. Hanna would have died to elesh.
Ok danny could play clifftop in game 3 because of volcanic island. It is a mountain island card and works with clifftop. Stop complaining before u read cards
Heheh, nice
By the way hanna should have died when it came out.
Yay David Mcdarby lost!
